I had bought an aerosol caulking product from the Home Depot store on Harrodsburg Drive. I have used the product before successfully. On this occasion, using simple instructions on the container, I applied the material to some work. Instead of "foaming" and expanding as it is supposed to do, the product dribbled out as a milky liquid. I reread the instructions, followed them exactly and tried again. Same result. I returned the product to the store (with receipt in hand) to get a replacement as this one was obviously defective. I handed the can to the young fella at the returns desk along with the receipt and explained the situation. He literally shook the can several times (in front of me and 2-3 other customers waiting behind me) then handed it back to me and said he could not give me a replacement or refund. I asked why and he said that I had "used up more than half" the contents of the (aerosol) can! (I must add here that this was not the employee who usually works at the Returns Desk) When I told him that I did not use more than the equivalent of a couple of tablespoons of material, he said that was "not true" and repeated that I had used up most of the can. The lady standing behind me said "I think that he just called you a liar". I asked him how he could determine the contents (percentage full) by just shaking the can and he said he could just tell by the way it felt! I asked to speak to his Supervisor or a Manager. He saw that the people behind me were watching intently so he went over to a woman behind the Service Desk (she had a lot of 'badges" on her apron). They spoke out of earshot for a while and then he came back and told me again that he thought the can was almost empty and his Supervisor agreed. I immediately went over to the Service Desk and asked to speak to the lady that he spoke with. I asked if she was his Supervisor- that I wanted to lodge a complaint. She looked around, other employees looked at her and she told me that she was not his Supervisor! She was a cashier who worked the Service Desk. Even though ALL of the conversations by ALL parties had been in normal conversational tone, several customers seemed to be aware there was a problem. I asked the lady if I could speak with HER supervisor or the STORE Manager. The fella at the Returns not only insinuated that I was lying (about the can contents) but now he had actually lied to me about her being a supervisor. She pointed to a large man also working behind the Service Desk and said I should talk with him. I asked him if he was a supervisor or manger. He replied with "Maybe I can help you?" I repeated my question to him. He hesitated, saw people watching, and finally said he was not a supervisor or manager either!. At this time, I told him and the lady that I insist on speaking with the Store Manager about this. The large man told me the Manager was "in a meeting" but I could leave my phone number. I said that was not acceptable (to me) and I asked for the name, address, phone number or email of the Regional or District Manager (again, all of this was in normal conversational tone by all parties) About this time, a small man appeared to my right (seemed as if he was close by all along?) and said that he was the Store Manager. Having been lied to twice, I was skeptical so I introduced myself and asked for some proof that he was the Manager. He was not dressed professionally nor was he wearing any visible identification. He handed me a business card of the Store Manager. I asked if that was him and he said yes. (I probably should have asked for more positive ID) I asked if he wanted to discuss this in his office or somewhere less public and he said "No" so I proceeded to give him the details right there. At the end, I told him that I wanted to lodge a complaint about the way I was treated at the Returns desk and twice at the Service Desk and a "formal complaint" that I had been lied to by employees. I asked him for a form to use and who do I send it to. He told me that he didn't have any forms. I asked who could I escalate this to and I was told to "look on the Internet". I asked him specifically for a name, an 800 number, a department or even just a website. He just repeated that I had to look on the Home Depot website. He authorize the young fella to refund my purchase and I left the store (and haven't been back). Of course, there is nothing on the Home Depot webpage directing customers who have complaints. I Googled it and found a number that other customers have used. I called the number and the lady who answered said she worked for Home Depot and I would have to leave a voice mail of my complaint. No mail, no email , no fax. So, I "dictated" the whole story again! Of course, they did not follow-up with me in any manner. Later, using Google I found names and addresses of several Home Depot officers. Ninety days later, they have never responded. I have not shopped Home Depot since the incident. During that time, we have bought a washer/dryer, a Honda mower, hardwood flooring, plumbing fixtures and lots of paint, hardware, lumber, tools even garden supplies from Home Depot competitors (often at higher prices). We will never buy from Home Depot again and I have shared this episode with family and friends many times.
Description of Work: Home Depot returns desk employee was wrong in his assumption, argued publically with me and caused considerable embarrassment to me, himself and several others. At lease 3 employees lied to me when I asked for management help. Home Depot management did nothing.

There was a robbery and Home Depot Inc replaced the patio door. We just went in and ordered the door and when the door came in, the sent two guys who came and installed it. They were very professional. They did what we asked them to do and everything went great. The quality of the door was very good. They were very good at responding.
Description of Work: I used Home Depot Inc for patio door installation.

I purchased nine interior doors and had them installed by Home Depot. I picked home depot for the purchase and installation because they were close to my home. I did not have a good experience with this company, it was probably one of the worst I have had. I am in the process of getting the issues I had with the service performed with them.
Description of Work: I used Home Depot to purchase doors.
