Handyman Connection - Lexington

Two years ago we had Handyman Connection come out to fix a leaking door and rotten subfloor, we are now renovating and when we pulled up the floor we found rotten subfloor left behind. It’s so rotten i can poke my finger through it with no effort. There is even rotten floor that was cut up, and nailed back down. Water also continues to leak through the top of the door. I’m now being told that they are happy with this quality of work and because we had our deck lowered and the flashing redone that is the reason for rotten floor. This is not two years of water damage, this is obviously rotten floor that was left behind. Ultimately I would like a refund for labor and the cost of one sheet of plywood subfloor but was told it is no longer under warranty and they will not be doing anything to remedy this. It is disappointing that as new and first time homeowners we went out of our way to support a local company and now less then two years later I have to have all the work redone.

Awesome! Daniel S. was professional, honest, great work done! In the original quote he thought I needed more work than once he got in the day of work. He discovered I didnt. So instead of justdoing all the quoted work to make more money. He adjusted it to only do what was needed. That won me over. I have used many contractors and never have i experienced such honest, professionalism. Between his honesty and craftsmanship i am won over and that isnt a small feat. The headboard that I ordered didn’t attach to the bed. Daniel customized it and it looks great! The can lights over the fireplace were so bright that they hurt my eyes. Daniel installed a dimmer switch. My eyes are much happier now!

I won their Facebook contest, win a handyman for 8 hours. We were pleased with 95% of what he did (a ceiling drywall repair, fixing a stair spindle, cutting down an unnecessary satellite dish outside, and putting up tons of blinds), until he also attempted to paint the ceiling where he had fixed drywall. When a handyman says “I’m not a painter” but talks the whole day about how he will paint the ceiling and is trying to be helpful, and then does paint it at the end of the workday, you might not realize what he means is he CAN’T paint. While I appreciate his desire to help, he was definitely not a painter, and our ceiling was a disaster. There were 1-inch wide gaps of ceiling that hadn’t been cut in, stretches of ceiling that looked like it had been dry rolled and had no new paint on them, and every single one of our 4 can lights and our air vent had paint on them. When we reached out to the company asking for it to be fixed, chaos ensued, and the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen was on full display. They stated the handyman said he wasn’t a painter, that they would send the same guy out to “clean up and finish touching up”, and they absolutely would not send one of their actual painters, and if we wanted that they would make a quote/bid for us. Essentially, they acted like the situation was our fault, they refused to take responsibility for the workmanship of their employee, and did not offer reasonable options for how to make it right. The owner, Chris, was rude to my husband, tried to avoid speaking with him altogether because I was the winner, the office manager Marie was rude to me, changer her story multiple times, and emphatically told me they would NOT send a painter to fix the problem their handyman created. After a day and a half of constant back and forth from my husband and I dealing with this, it wasn’t until I posted 2 scathing reviews on Google and Facebook, complete with pictures, that the marketing person got involved and somehow convinced the owner to send an actual painter. 8 days later, the ceiling has finally been properly painted. I will certainly not be recommending this company, due to their TERRIBLE customer service. While they did eventually fix the problem they created, it was only after my husband and I spent hours badgering them, calling, texting, threatening to report to the BBB, and posting social media reviews. It’s not worth the trouble, find a handyman elsewhere.

I was in need of some fence and gate repair and reconstruction. Handyman Connection was quick to provided me with a great craftsman for the job. Armando Galtieri came by and gave me a very fair quote for the work and was able to reconstruct the gates far better than their original structure. I would highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future.

it went well. He was very knowledgable in several areas. He hung an outside light, adjusted a door lock, and fixed an existing light fixture.

Three men showed up to do the work while I was not at home, but my older teen children were. My teens knew what work needed to be done and which rooms. One of the men (younger guy), kept going from room to room in my house "looking for the water shut off valve". When I got home only one guy remained to collect payment. I surveyed the work and noticed a leak under the newly installed bathroom sink which I reported to the worker. He attempted to fix it but stated he would have to come back in an hour. Never heard back from him or the company. Also, items were stolen from my home, including cash and a prescription. My toilets have began to leak around the base as well. I do not recommend this company!

Very well. Mike managed to get the cabinet functional again and he was very nice. It was a bit pricey for the job but the minimum is $135 and that is all he charged us.

It's a different person every time. One time I was not happy because their bids tend to be extremely high. It was a little bit of a task. I didn't feel like they really provided me with enough information upfront to know what the cost was going to be. I've had some people who come out and be great.

Punctual and according to cost, but low quality work. In the end, I could have done it myself for a lot less and gotten the same result.

They're prompt and they're definite. They're very helpful. They will go purchase supplies if they need to and if you want them to. I don't have any dislikes so far.
