Professional service person--timely, very nice, etc. We had a flusher that would not work. He recommended that we replace the whole inside of our toilet pre-emptively. He did that right away, found a matching flusher, and even cleaned the mildew behind our tank, which was very nice. However, the flusher still doesn't work! We have to hold it down forever, just to maintain the flush. It was expensive and we were left with the same problem. No doubt the inside of the toilet is fine, and I'm sure they have some kind of satisfaction guarantee. But it's a hassle to reschedule, etc.

The service person came to service my old furnace and air conditioner and said that although my furnace would still heat, a part (I can't remember the name of the part) was cracked and there was danger of carbon monoxide. So I deemed it necessary to replace the furnace and got the air conditioner replaced at the same time. They were very prompt and courteous and always showed up when they said they would.

Air ducts were not cleaned, but destroyed. When they began to leak water.... yes water due to condensation from the chemicals which destroyed the metal, the company did not honor comfy club discount on ALL repairs as their contract states, The service men stated it was not the ducts. Comfy club duct inspection is a joke, an inspection before their 'repair' resulted in better finding than after the supposed cleaning and their inspection. Before cleaning no problem... after.... all duct work needs to be replaced as drywall has been destroyed, massive air leaks and now there are dirty ducts, leaking air, without proper insulation and the replacement for the damage is in the thousands! Office would not return calls, would not even communicate with me or look into the problem, they just wanted more money to cause more damage. They have great marketing, beautiful trucks, the servicemen are nice and wear shoe covers, but the owner has proven choosing a local business isn't always appropriate. Look how often their name is "used" for fundraising for the community, folks if you want to donate to charity do so, but don't allow this company to ruin your home so they can get a tax write off for donations to the community.
Description of Work: Comfy Club fee paid but service was not attainable as well as paid for an Air Duct Cleaning resulting in damaged system.

Air conditioning went out. I selected Fayette Heating and Air due to they could come the next day. When the technician got to the house he didn't even hook up any controls to the unit. He looked at the outside fan and said I needed a new unit because there was a Freon leak somewhere and he couldn't guarantee they could find it much less fix it. I knew something was wrong the way he was pressuring me to buy a new unit and didn't even examine it. The next day I called Miley, they came out, within 20 min knew it was the condenser, replaced it and had the air working for way less than Fayette. Warning.. use a company where the repairman doesn't get a bonus if he sells you a new unit or better yet, like Miley, make your repairmen and salesmen completely different people.

July 27, 2012 .. My 19 year old daughter was home for the service call. After the technician left she called me and said he didn't do anything and that he had written on the paper he had her sign that we needed a filter but he couldn't put it in because we had too many pets. When I came home I asked her to walk me through what he did. She said he came in the door, went upstairs and looked up at the intake vent in the ceiling and said well this needs a filter. Then he walked into the upstairs bathroom and reached up to feel if air was coming out of the vent in the bathroom, and said it was blowing okay. Then he went downstairs and went outside and sat in his truck writing and came back and had her sign the paper. To his credit he did not charge us anything, but I would not expect him too since he did NOTHING. The receipt says Problem: "Not blowing hard up?" "Hi temps out. Diagnosis: "Suc temp in range cust = running syst without filter in hall. Can't do = do to all pets in house" " Needs filter" "2 ton syst when replace put back 2 1/2" (this is based on my best interpretation of what is written on the receipt) I live in a 2500 sq foot home with 4 beds and 3 baths and a two car garage. I have one outdoor dog who was outside (hence being an outdoor dog), an 8lb poodle and two domestic cats. Had he asked, the animals could have been put away, seperately with room for more. I came home that Friday evening to a thunderstorm outside and 87 degree temp inside. My choices were to sit outside in the lightning and thunder (where it was now cooler than it was inside), or suffer iniside. I called to file a complaint which, I feel, fell on deaf ears. The manager I spoke to, Bob, said that the techs complaint was not in reference to the pets themselves, but to the odor of the pets. I do have one naughty cat who was rescued from the bank of the river. She actually jumped in to the water and swam to the boat she was so desperate and hungry. She has not taken to the liter box despite my keeping three of them in the house, it's hit and miss with her, she seems to just go where she pleases, but I dont have the heart to toss her out or take her to the shelter. So yes my house does smell some. So I guess that means my complaint was invalid. My pets have never been in the attic or the crawl space (but neither was this particular technician); and I'm still not clear about how putting a filter in the intake was going to fix either of my units and create a cooler environment inside my home. Does that mean that the technician who came out in May failed to do a thorough job? When I was not offered any sort of resolution to my problem, I advised Bob that I wanted to cancel my montly service plan with them, he noted that "you've only been a customer since May". Yes, that is true, a single working mother of four, who has been putting herself through nursing school, and dropped $1527.00 to have her AC fixed and signed up for a service for $19.90 per month to keep it running (they had taken 3 payments in the 2 months since I signed up for the service). I got a refund check in the mail for $59.70 only to have another fee of $19.90 taken out of my checking account on 8/23/12. I again called to make sure the service has been cancelled, and requested a refund and made a second call just today 09/4/12 and was told the service has been cancelled and that the check has been cut, but is waiting for approval. I wish that I could have my $1527 back, because my system is still broken. Aside from being short on money, I've been somewhat fearful to call anyone. That is why I signed up for Angie's List I'm hoping to find a company that truly cares about their clients regardless of how long they've been a customer.
Description of Work: I want to make clear that I did not select this service from Angie's List ... when I initially called this company to my home I was not yet a member!!! I called this company at the end of May (the check is dated 5/22/12 ... my birthday) when my AC went out. They sent out a very nice man who said that he needed to pull the coils on both units (1 in attic & 1 in crawl space) and acid wash them, replace the filters on both units, and replace the motor on the downstairs unit. The charge was $1,527. This technician completed the work, without any complaints, and talked me into signing up for their service plan which is $19.90 per month, and that money would go towards any future service call. Jump forward 2 months to July 27,2012 ... It is blazing hot outside and it is in high 80's inside. I call them to report that the downstairs unit doesn't seem to be blowing sufficiently that it is hot downstairs and cooler upstairs

The air conditioner went out (in 100 deg weather); I called Fayette for an estimate. They sent someone out the very next day, though it took another two days and more calls to get that estimate. I was told the AC unit, AND the furnace would have to be replaced, plus a plumber hired to disconnect and re-connect the pipes. It would be some weeks before the work could be finished. My realtor called someone else, who came over, said the capacitor had blown; he had one with him, and repaired the AC on the spot. Total bill: $150.00!The realtor from Century 21 can verify these facts.

Each day they came here to install the new units, they didn’t show up until about noon. They only cleaned up part of the debris; they threw a lot of the debris into my attic’s blown-in insulation. They were supposed to relocated some lines and they didn’t do that either. The price was about average and I haven’t had any problems with the system operating. Before they installed the new units, they came out to service the old ones. One time the technician came out to check it and he left it on test mode. Every so many minutes it kicked into emergency heating. For several days I was paying extra for my fuel bill because he left it in test mode. I will never use them again and I wouldn’t recommend them.

What they did the first time around didn't quite work and at that time we were under a builder's warranty for house, so everything would have been covered but what they did didn't quite solve the problem, so we had to call them back after we were outside of our builder's warranty and they came back, they assessed the problem, they acknowledged that there had been an error the first time around which is why the problem wasn't resolved and they covered 100% for the part and the labor. They didn't need to do that because technically, the part was covered under 10 year warranty, so I wouldn't have paid for that but the labor was not. They recognized their own culpability and then covered the labor for me and fixed the unit. Now, it is working. The guy who came was absolutely amazing. Again, another really amazing guy named James. He really knows what he is doing. He is really thorough and very intelligent. He fixed it and he was courteous. He put little booties on, so that he was not walking on my carpet. He is great. I would definitely go back and use them again and I would ask for that guy James because he is just an asset to that company.

Sales and installation were professional. The problem was that they installed the downstairs unit incorrectly, which caused the unit to leak water into our crawlspace, which in turn created a mold problem. I recognized the problem when I had mold shooting out of my vents onto my curtains and walls. It was a Saturday and I called,VERY upset, and they couldn't have anyone come and look at it until Monday. They sent a very nice gentleman out who had been with the company for many years who told us "if the crew that installed it had taken an extra 30 minutes to do this right, this would not have happened". It took over a week to get the part in, but they fixed the problem. We still had mold though. The service manager was totally unresponsive to us after repeated attempts to get them to do something about the mold that was growing out the floor joists. We took it upon ourselves at that point to hire an environmental engineer to test the mold. It was new, and was the exact same mold that was growing on the HVAC unit at the spot of the leak. There is no question that the mold was caused by the incorrect installation of the unit. I finally sent an email to Brent Melrose, the owner of the company and told him of the problem. He immediately sent 2 representatives of the company to our house, who took our environmental cleanup estimate and sat in our living room and said to not worry they would take care of it and they were very sorry and promised that the company would pay for all cleanup. A week later I received a call from the COO who told me "not so fast", I'm going to send "my guy" out there. I had been repeatedly told they didn't have a guy. Their guy turned out be a "b dry" type of company who had been in business for only a month or two and the guy said there MIGHT be some moisture in our crawl space. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN MOISTURE IN THAT CRAWLSPACE EVEN IN THE MOST HORRENDOUS RAIN STORM. IT IS BONE DRY!!!! When we pointed out that we had pictures and a report from a certified environmental specialist, the COO decided to turn it over to his insurance. The adjuster tried every way in the world to trip us up and to try to get our environmental specialist to say that there was a chance that the mold did not come from the hvac unit. It was so bad that our environmental specialist called to tell us how unprofessional the adjuster was and how he tried to put words in his mouth. Long story short, the insurance denied it and Fayette Heating and Air refused to pay anything. We have now paid to have the mold cleaned, which cost in excess of $3000. And, we are stuck with a warranty that Fayette Heating and Air has to service. Not only that, but when we call for service, we are treated horribly and told we are "on a list" and can only speak with the COO. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company . I would never recommend dealing with this company. EVER.
Description of Work: Installation of upstairs heating and air condition units and installation of downstairs duel fuel heating and air units.
