+ -1 moreMy experience with Engineered Heating and Air worked out perfectly. They were running a bit behind, but they got there as soon as they could. They did what they said they were going to do, so I guess it worked out well. It took him five days from the day I purchased it to get to us, though.
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's Big Deal to get an air conditioning and furnace tune-up. I had to also pay for the freon, which is outrageous. Otherwise, I just paid the initial price of the Big Deal.

+ 0 moreWe could not be more pleased with this overall experienced with Tom and his company. They were professional and did everything promised and right on time. We had them back twice after the install to adjust some air flow and it is now exactly what we wanted. If you need heating and air installation or repair you cannot go wrong with this company. Would not call any other company.
Description of Work: My husband and I have been very frustrated with our heat in the home since we purchased it in 2006. We had another heating and air company out as well as the the company that installed the service initially when the home was built in 2004. I won't go into the details of the the other experiences but suffice it to say we were still not satisfied. I told my husband we needed and engineer to tell us what was wrong and help get it corrected. We called Engineered Heating and Air and Tom Roberson answered. I discussed our situation with him and he was glad to help.We set and appointment and Tom and a technician arrived right on time. When they arrived and introduced themselves they were both very professional and thoughtful of our home, covering their feet and sat down to talk with us before beginning their inspection. After hearing our concerns they proceeded to the attic to check on the furnace and air conditioner. After the inspection and gathering up some trash the other contractors left they met with us to discover what was found. We had an under sized unit for the size of our first floor, duct work was contractor grade and was allowing heat to escape into the attic before it reached our downstairs. Some of our registers needed to be changed to commercial grade ones for maximum efficiency. They took color photos to show us what they were describing and Tom said he would get back with us with a proposal the first of the next week which he did. In addition to all of the above Tom advised us of some energy saving things we could do and advised us of rebates available for those as well as a manufacture's rebate.

He listened to what I had to say, went right to the problem and had it fixed in 15 minutes!! Explained what was wrong and what could be done to keep it from happening again. Extremely satisfied!! He was very professional, worked quickly and took the time to thoroughly answer every question I had for him. Once he was finished with the tune-up, he explained the work performed and the current condition of both systems. I will definitely use their services again.

+ -1 moreThese folks were uniformly the most professional, competent, knowledgeable and courteous as I've seen in 40 years of home ownership. They went to great effort not to leave a mess (both in and out of the house) and to minimize their disturbance to the property. They work as a genuine team, obviously enjoy their work and working together and are good at their work. They clearly demonstrated their willingness to go the extra mile--even on a weekend night--to make sure the system was working properly. They are highly trustworthy. You could leave your keys with any one of them, leave town, and know that everything would be well cared for when you returned. . I was taught that of the 3 things a consumer looks for in a product of "price, quality, and service" that you can only have two. With Engineered Heating and Air, however, you get all three! I am 100% pleased with my decision to accept their bid.
Description of Work: Installed a GeoThermal Heating/AC system to my house including drilling 5 hydronic wells with closed-loop system; installed Water Furnace GeoThermal equipment plus a Carrier furnace, Trane air filter, and Honeywell humidifier.

Parts needed were not available that day but they got our system running temporarily until they could do the work. Pricing is very open and fair - they have a basic pricebook and openly share details of estimates. We had additional issues and they came promptly and on a weekend! We have no doubt or concerns about their honesty or warranty.

+ -1 moreThe gentleman who answered my initial call and scheduled my service was very nice to do business with and my service was booked within two days (it was not an emergency situation - just maintainence). The tech who came to the house was very courteous and answered all of my questions - I do ask more than some people. He performed a thorough inspection both of the air handler (is in a crawl space) and condensation unit and replaced the media filter. He then checked out the outside compressor - checked the charge and other electrical components - and cleaned out some debris that had fallen the unit. I had a very good experience, indeed, and will call this company for my maintence and any other work performed on my heat pump. I was very pleased.
Description of Work: I needed a maintenance call, as the company that had previously taken care of my heat pump had gone out of business. The tech who came to my house checked out all components of the air handler (is in a crawl space under the house), including the condensation unit, and replaced the media filter. He then checked the outside unit - the compressor - checked the charge and other electrical components related to the compressor. He also cleaned out some debris that had falled into the outside unit.

They have come to my aid two different times when I was in a hurry to get fixed for a renter, even tho they had bigger jobs and not a whole lot of time they were able squeeze me in to get fixed in a couple days. Their prices are more than reasonable.
Description of Work: I had to have a gas cutoff valve installed in my rental.

He took the time to understand our needs and explained in patient detail what could satisfy us. After we made decisions his crew went to work. They came on time as scheduled, were courteous, and treated our home and us with respect. They cleaned up after the job. Their work included some difficult duct replacement in our attic. Very very good job!

+ -1 moreI knew my 18-year-old heat pump was dying. At a friend's family gathering, I saw a man I'd known since he was born (as he was my friend's younger brother). He is the type of man who makes and fixes things himself, and is a good judge of ability. I told him that my heat pump was dying and asked who he would recommend. He recommended Engineered Heating and Air. I called and they came right out, which was good because it was cold. It was Tom Robison (an engineer) and two very nice service technicians. After checking the heat pump, Mr. Robison said I needed a new heat pump. I agreed. Mr. Robison measured the entire house and even looked in the attic (which you have to access through a hole in the ceiling above a closet shelf) to know what amount of area needed to be heated and cooled, and to know what kind of insulation I had. He then went over the different options with me and we settled on the one I felt best about. They got the parts in the next day and came out the following morning to install the new system. They came just when they said they would. They also put little shoe covers on the bottoms of their shoes each time they came in the house. Everything worked perfectly, and the house felt so much better than with the old heat pump. Also, they showed me how to apply for a rebate from Carrier, which I did. When I had a question about thermostat operation, Tom Robison came right out and explained it to me. I am 100% satisfied with this company, so much so that I was motivated to sit down to write this report. A+++
