Distinctive Design Remodeling

Pros: We're satisfied with the finished product, and our project manager was responsive and communicated nearly daily on who would be out that day. They were nice to our neighbors who are close to where the work was being done, so we don't have angry neighbors to deal with. Cons: The C and F reviews from January were very consistent with our experience. Hard sell from Jesse who missed a $3200 obvious expense on the quote. Project manager was not on site often, and we ended up catching a lot of problems and directed the workers nearly daily. The project took weeks longer than quoted. Lots of issues, but they did end up correcting them at our request. We would not hire them again because we have realized that we want the quote to come from the person who will be doing the work, and we want that person on site daily to manage the project. It will alleviate the communication issues we experienced with this project and will assure that the workers are being supervised daily. If you do hire DDR, we recommend being very specific on what is written in your quote; include every item that will be done, specific materials you would like used (patterns, quality, brands), etc. We recommend that you're home during the work, or, at the very least, check the work daily to catch any issues.

Everything was fantastic, the sub-contractors used were all extremely respectful and did a great job with helping out on decisions, fixes, and anything else that came up along the way. The electrician, drywall installers, plumber, trimwork guys... all were great. We only had a couple of routine issues come up due to things we didn't know were coming, problems were solved perfectly, and even better, the job was finished A WEEK EARLY!

There was a big hard sell initially. Then during the work I had a complaint almost every day to relay to DDR. Some of the workmen were rude and loud and very disrespectful to me . The crew blocked my drive more than once and I was often the one with a knock on my door to move my car for a delivery and I was expected to receive the delivery. There was no general contractor there to manage anything. It turned out I had to open my door to allow them to use my electrical outlet inside my house for power. I do NOT recommend this company.

The project went really well, it was finished in time and with quality as promised. Chris was our project manager and he addressed all our concerns with great patience. DDR has got a crew of experts, we are happy with their work and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for deck or sunroom remodeling.

Overall, it went well. They do great work. Any issues we encountered along the way were dealt with quickly. The project was completed very quickly from the date begun.

started fast and things got done in a pretty timely manner. Delayed a week due to electrician but no biggie. They always called before arriving and tried to get me to come look at things before they left.

I needed a porch roof on my west facing porch and contacted DDR and they framed it out on a Thurs and finished the trimming on Wed of the next wk. Rain delayed the project.

Initial take down of old deck and exterior construction very time efficient. Well constructed. Deck and patio very cost and time efficient4-5 days - overall management of project had a couple lapses, but good communication helped.

DDR assigns you a project manager who was Chris for us and was very responsive, kept us up to date of upcoming steps with preliminary time tables. The company uses a group of subcontractors for each step of the way - you get framing carpenter crew, a drywall crew, an electrician, and finishing carpenter crew - not one general guy who does everything. All did great jobs, took pride, and put thought into the work they were providing.

Quality workmanship. Overall the subcontractor were professional & prompt. There were some issues with the ordering of correct items and / or correct quantity, but management followed up promptly & all problems, resolved in a fairly reasonable amount of time. Our project manager, Chris Thomas was excellent & kept us in the loop at all times.

DDR did an excellent job on all aspects of the project. They were quick and got our project on their schedule within 10 days of signing. Their personnel were excellent and easy to deal with as well as flexible. The work was completed quickly and there were no delays or issues. We are overall thrilled with DDR's work on our project.

We used DDR to finish our basement, which included a home office, a multi-purpose room, a full bathroom, and multiple storage areas. We are very pleased overall with the quality of construction. Since completion of the project we have had other professionals in to do decorating work, and all have commented that the quality of the work is very good. The project was completed on a reasonable timeline. There were a few times when a member of the crew felt that work completed by another crew member was not up to company standards, and they quickly pointed it out to us as well as the project manager so that the problem could be corrected immediately. The electrician was especially good working with us on developing a lighting plan that would meet our needs, and we are very happy with the end result. The crew that completed the cabinet installation and trim were also wonderful to work with. The project manager was helpful in facilitating communication between the various contractors to keep with project on track. He was responsive to our questions via phone and text when questions arose. The only improvement could have been better communication regarding the specific timeline and when different phases were beginning. There were a few times that we had notice the same day that we needed to be present to meet specific contractors who were starting their work to give our input. We are excited to have our new lower level completed and look forward to many years enjoying the space.

Start to finish the project took about a month, this was very important as we wanted to move into our new home asap! DDR & Chris & his crew did an awesome job. They weren't the lowest estimate received & still had to pay extra to paint and carpet the space, but they were awesome to work with and end result is great!

Despite the weather - which prevented a quicker finish - I feel the project to be timely and well done. I would very much so hire this company again in the future.
