Distinctive Design Remodeling

We are very pleased with the design, the quality and the communication with this company. We could not be more pleased with how our screen room turned out, and even more so with this company. The points of this project that stand out: * On our initial consultation, Jesse really listened to what we wanted, and offered very good suggestions to improve our design. * The project manager, Chris, was always responsive to all our questions and concerns. All concerns were addressed and in a positive manner. * We were at all times, even with repeated bouts of bad weather, kept informed of what would be done when, and by whom. * DDR uses top quality materials and their crew members are skilled. Leo and Rolando and their crews did great work on the framing and finishing. John and James, the electrical crew, wired everything perfectly. The clean up crew cleaned up thoroughly. If you're thinking of a remodeling project, you would do well to consider Distinctive Design Remodeling.

Extremely well. Project Manager Chad Faris coordinated the trades so there was little or no down time. Any changes were explained and all questions were answered. Every person who worked on the project were courteous and professional.

Overall, great. There were some communication issues, more specifically times where our Project Manager wasn't aware of when their sub crews were scheduled to work on our project. That being said, he was terrific overall, providing good customer service and giving us a beautiful room!

Excellent. Fairly small job (~450 sq ft), that we had been putting off way too long. DDR did a fantastic job, after we got used to the rhythm of the different skilled contractors and coordinating their schedules for the various phases of the job. It was an excellent value, in our opinion. Upfront sales engagement was complete and thorough, as was the contract. I was quite surprised at all the different contractor skills required, even for a small job, and each crew seemed to be at the top of their game. Since our project was fairly small, the crew coordination might have been a bit harder since most of the tasks were actually less than a full day's work. The whole project went on a few weeks, but the actual work was probably only 5 or 6 days total - the crews worked really fast when they were here. The scheduling was no problem, and the project manager kept in touch every day - and was very responsive to every concern I had about timing or any other detail. There's always going to be dust when there is drywall involved, and there was some of that, and there's going to be a dumpster in the drive - but everything was cleaned up and hauled away - leaving behind what the project manager told us it would be...'the nicest room in the house'. I appreciated everything being upfront - they described exactly the work they were going to do and did that. They detailed the work they were not going to do - and helped me arrange for that in their schedule (some plumbing work, for example).

For the size of the project (1,600 sq ft), the job went very well.

Splendidly! The work was completed in much less time than originally estimated. The workers were all very competent. We would hire them again and heartily recommend DDR. Chris, the project manager, was very responsive and checked in on a daily basis to ensure our satisfaction.

Sadly, our garage permit was denied. Kudos to "Distinctive Design Remodeling". They did a LOT of work and STILL gave a full refund. They measured, drew up plans, got all required utility approvals and even took pics of all the other houses in our neighborhood and fought City Hall on our behalf. I was already preliminarily impressed with their knowledge and attention to detail. Even though they never got to complete the job, I can highly recommend them as a reputable company.

Everyone worked so hard and kept up with the job. Project was completed before we knew it. Everything was done in a timely manner. Workers were awesome!

I called and left a message on a Friday. They did not call back, so I called them again the following Tuesday and they told me they focused on interior repair work or new construction only and declined the job. They were polite and professional on the phone.

DDR is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about their service. My largest concern with starting our sunroom was costly “surprises” added after we started. DDR prices your job upfront, and it’s guaranteed. Chris Thomas was our project manager. He communicated with us every step of the way. Every time we had someone come to the house, we knew who they were and what was going to happen that day. He handled the inevitable minor hiccups promptly. Everyone who performed work was professional and clearly skilled. We were never left with a mess as they performed cleanup throughout the process. We have talked about re-doing our sunroom for years. Because of DDR, the whole process has been a lot of fun, rather than stressful. I highly recommend these folks. Thanks, guys!!

Good people to work with from beginning to end

Excellent. On time, kept in touch, and finished project was fantastic!!

They worked very quickly, which was nice but there were some mistakes and issues with the room layout. The mistakes were corrected in a timely manner though. There seemed to be a lack of communication between the managers and the employees at times. Some of the employees would ask me or my husband what they were supposed to do that day, so after we told them we didn't know, they would make phone calls to try to figure out what they were supposed to do that day... this happened several times. The clean up was the biggest upset because there were lots of cigarette butts and some other trash left behind in our yard. They also didn't vacuum the walls (at least not very well) after they were dry walled. So we had to clean all of that ourselves. But they were very responsive and would always reply to emails or return calls promptly to answer any of our questions or concerns.

We cannot stress enough how highly we recommend DDR! We have worked with so many contractors over the years, and DDR stands above the crowd in every way. Not only did they provide terrific quality worksmanship on each trade involved, their communication throughout the process was top-notch. We made some changes/adjustments to the original design, and Tom (our project manager) was very accommodating with us, even helping with some suggestions of his own, which went a long way. DDR could have given us a complete project, but we wanted to save money wherever we could. They allowed us to paint and have Lowe's supply/install our carpet/cabinets, all the while coordinating everything seamlessly! We are very pleased with everything DDR did. And since completion, we've had friends/family over and they all have commented on the beautiful, quality design DDR gave us in the basement. Jesse (one of the owners) originally designed the basement for us, and we just met with him again to contract an awesome covered patio concept. We cannot wait to get started with DDR again! Highly, highly recommend these guys!

The quality of their workers was fantastic. The concrete people and the people who cut through the stone siding and installed the kitchen door, really went above expectations to make sure I was happy.

We had 3 estimates and went with Distinctive Design Remodeling. They did a wonderful job and I'm very happy with my new garage.
