 + -1 moreI called a couple of times and both times the woman I spoke with hung up on me. I think she thought I was trying to sell something due to my accent. She wouldn't even listen to my request and hung up both times I called, which I thought was very rude.

She didn't do anything. I was a smoker at the time and she said she couldn't do it because of the smoke. She backed out of the deal.

 + -1 moreThis seemed like a great idea for me in my current situation as a full time student. When I got ready to use the service the provider was going in for a knee replacement; we agreed to use the voucher after her surgery. Never heard from her but saw that she was back to work via FB and sent a message. I thought we set a date in August it came and went no call, no follow up. I have since sent a message and was suppose to hear something on/or after 9/4; no contact from her as of now. She was always very nice in conversations but follow-up is not great and scheduling is very hard. Would really like to just get a refund as I am back in school full time and my days are filled with school work and clinical work.

 + -1 moreI contacted Katie prior to moving to Lexington from out-of-state for assistance in some pre-moving chores. I was facing an eight hour drive with two very unhappy cats and needed to have their litter boxes, food and water ready for them at our new home the minute they got out of the car. I came to Lexington to look for an apartment a few weeks ahead of the move with all of their goodies (and some essentials for me as well.) Katie met me at my hotel and loaded all of our stuff into her car and even took me to Petsmart to buy a cat tree. She kept our things in her garage until the day prior to the move. Although Katie herself was unavailable that day, she arranged to have an assistant deliver the items to our new home. When I - and two utterably miserable cats - arrived the next evening, not only had the stuff been delivered, but I found the litter boxes set up, the shower curtain hung, my coffee pot plugged in (Oh, thank you for that!), and food in the cupboard. By bedtime, both cats were right at home. Katie's services made the move so much easier for me. She is also loads of fun and a font of knowledge about Lexington, which was very helpful to a new resident. I'll not hesitate to call upon Katie again when the need arises.

 + -1 moreThey did a great job and I liked that it was easy. We just called them up, they showed up, picked our stuff up, and they delivered it like they said they would. They also helped to carry it in and out. They did what we expected, which is not usual anymore these days. They complained a little bit, but not too bad. It wasn't a big deal. They didn't really want to haul the stuff in and out of the house but they had too. They were good with their price and they were on time.

 + -1 moreI say the price is a little on the high side. They were helpful and able to solve problems for me. I don't remember anyone complaining from them which I have had before from other movers. Everything went relatively smoothly. They were in a hurry to get out because it was a long day but I can't blame them for that.

Description of Work: I hired her to help with with unpacking and organizing as I just moved here. The first day she was 20 minutes late and then had to leave early to go to a function. Her clothing options were questionable as she was dressed in tight fitting yoga stretch pants and a short sweater. Body parts were not staying in place or covered. I gave her the benefit of doubt as maybe she didn't know she would be bending over unpacking boxes, etc. The second time, she was very late as she had to meet someone at a grocery store to get paid. She asked me via texts if I needed anything from the store where she was. I had her get some things, I paid her for the groceries but there was a $20 gas charge? She was at the store for personal reasons yet charged me for her gas? The store is about 1 mile from my house. That day she had to also leave after a bit to go to a function? The next time she was scheduled, she cancelled to go meet her accountant. I did not schedule her back Last but not least, she took some dishes I had to her friends auction house to sale. I never set a reserve price as I was ill when she contacted me about a reserve price. She sold the dishes anyway for a minimal amount on Dec 10, 2012. I was never informed about the dishes. In March, I contacted her about the dishes. She had sold them as I stated and never bothered to pay me for them. It is now April 8th. She sent me a cashiers check finally in late March and made it out with my last name being wrong so it is no good to me. I have contacted her a few times now about sending me a check with the correct name and she will not respond. The last thing that was disturbing is that she wanted me to pay her with a check instead of thru Angie's list with a credit card because they report her earning to the Government. As you might be able to tell, the work that was created by hiring her has been more energy and time consuming that just doing the job myself.

Not only did she get my list of requests done quickly, but she did extra and with such a great attitude that I just couldn't have asked for more.
Description of Work: Concierge Girl helped me with my business doing various tasks that I needed done. She did them fast and was very affordable. I highly recommend her to not just small business people that are busy and do not have time to do some of the much needed tasks that come up in business but also to individuals that need help in their day to day errands and chores.

 + 0 moreI moved the end of December. I had movers transport the heavy stuff and a friend was going to help me move the lighter stuff. My friend bailed. I have arthritis and could not move everything by myself. I had used Concierge Girl before and was pleased with the service. I called Conceirge Girl and talked to Katie Weitzel, the owner. Katie was busy but squeezed me in the next day. She arrived when she said she would, ready to get to work. She bagged small items, took them, and heavier individual things, to her vehicle and mine, and transported them to my new home, took everything from the vehicles into my home in less than an hour. The woman can work! Katie called to let me know she was on the way and she arrived right when she said she would. She was pleasant, friendly, and eager to help. She was reliable, honest, and easy to be around. And, wow, was she efficient. I plan to use Concierge Girl often in the future as I settle into my new home. My arthritis makes simple things like hanging drapes, mowing my yard, walking my dogs impossible. I was even planning on asking her to put up flyers and help me find a lost cat, but he showed up. What's really great is that Concierge Girl can help with all kinds of things--think of something and I bet Katie can take care of it. I am so glad I found Concierge Girl.

We wanted to send them donuts and pastries from one of the local bakeries in Louisville and have them delivered to their door. After finding Concierge Girl Services on Angie's List, I called the number listed and spoke with the owner, Katie. Although her business is based in Lexington, She told me she does work in Louisville regularly and happened to be there when I called! I gave her the name and address of the bakery I had ordered thru, as well as my brothers home address. Katie offered to include a card w/my greeting/sentiment.. took that information, and within an hour, had picked up and delivered the Christmas donuts/pastries, along with a card, to my brother's home. - Something I could not do 500 miles away! I highly recommend Concierge Girl Services for any errands you may need help with. Katie is warm, accommodating and friendly, with a 'can do' attitude. Thank you Katie and Concierge Girl Services! On several occasions I had abrupt changes in schedules due to emergencies at work, and Katie was able to get me to and from work at short notice. That was very helpful and very appreciated. Use of Concierge Girl Services made my transition from home recovery to work easy and worry free, given that the schedule was not fixed and varied day to day. I will have my other knee replaced next year, and plan to use Concierge Girl Services again, especially since I may not get as much assistance from family next year.
Description of Work: On October 12th I had a total right knee replacement. Due to the effects of medications I was taking, I was not permitted to drive for three weeks after surgery. My cousin was able to stay with me for two weeks, but she does not drive. I needed help running errands, food shopping, light kitchen stocking tasks, getting prescriptions for three weeks after surgery, and needed help getting me to and from work in my third week after surgery.

Description of Work: Katie arrived on time and got to work immediately. She assessed what could be done to improve my B&B business inside - making great decorating suggestions that were easy to do and practical, and then helped with some outside clean up - including cleaning off the porch with a hose and really doing a great job. She was fantastic!

 + -1 moreKatie Weitzel was prompt (no waiting for her to take me to the hospital or to take me home), reliable, friendly, courteous, and professional. As a bonus, she is also intelligent and interesting. She was patient in navigating the Central Baptist Hospital campus which is a real mess with the construction going on. Katie went out of her way to make everything as easy as possible for me. She even brought me a little snack when she picked me up after the surgery. The $25 cost was reasonable. It was well worth not having to inconvenience a friend. Surgery on my other eye is scheduled in two weeks. I have already asked Katie to drive me to and from the hospital.
Description of Work: I was scheduled for cataract surgery early Feb.2. The surgery is out-patient, doesn't take long and no general anesthetic is used. Still I was informed that I had to have somebody sign me out of surgery and drive me home. Not only could I not drive myself home, I could not go home by cab. Rather than inconvenience a friend by having them drive me to the surgery and pick me up and drive me home, I decided to use a service. I found Concierge Girl on Angie's List. Katie Weitzel runs the service and she is the person who picked me up at home, took me to the hospital, came back and signed me out of surgery, and took me home.

 + 1 moreSee story above. I could add that while here, Katie also helped a young troubled woman who was staying here at the time. She consoled her and drove her to the store to get groceries - all on her own time. Regarding our interactions, not only did Katie do much more work than I ever expected for a very fair fee, I also had a new friend. Since then she has kept in contact, sent helpful business information via email to me and called to ask whether the storm had affected our area (which it hasn't). She's a very caring and generous person and I expect not only to do more business with her but to refer others to her. I'm sure we'll be friends for a long time.
Description of Work: I have a small B&K (Bed with Kitchen access 24/7) in the Asheville, NC area (called Lotus Lodge) and Katie arrived on 8/1/11 to help with the business. In a very organized and professional manner, we went around the house and I made a list of things she suggested could be altered in some way to improve business. Then she surprised me by going outside and making recommendations for bettering the landscaping. Before I knew it, we both were out there doing yard work! I never expected more than indoor help and marketing advise and the price was the same! For two days she helped me do everything from pulling kudzu off the side of the house, pruning bushes, moving various pieces of outdoor (and indoor) furniture, hosing down our large front porch, potting pretty flowers, rearranging the back patio and giving many marketing and indoor decorating tips. In addition to that, she charmed a county roadside grass cutter into mowing all around my property, including up and down an extra driveway (and she personally moved fallen limbs to get it done - with my help, when I saw what was happening) - and got the lawncare guys to do extra weed-whacking by giving them little gifts she had purchased! Katie is a whirl wind of energy, all while smiling, laughing and having everyone enjoy the process! We laughed a lot! In two and a have days, this place was transformed plus I had lots of ideas on what else to do regarding marketing and making sure my guests are happy. I would recommend her to anyone, but you'd best be ready to get a lot done! She was amazing with her great ideas, her generosity, her amazing energy and efficiency in doing almost anything, and her engaging personality. She makes life easier and more fun, and isn't that what a good concierge service is all about?
