Chimney Man

So, it does not get any worse than this clown. Set an appointment without any problem. However, he was a no show. These things happen, so no worries. I called again the day after the he was a no-show without explanation and left a message. No return call, so I try again the following day. This clown answers the phone and starts fussing about me not picking up my phone when he called me back. I apologize and say, "Hey, we are talking now, so I would like to set a new apt." He refused, insults me and I am forced to hang up. Do NOT hire this clown.

It was sadly a terrible experience. I'm not usually one to write these but I'm pretty shocked at how I was treated and didn't even get service done. I just bought a house and it has a wood burning fireplace. I'd like for it to be check before using it. I got a recommendation from some friends for Chimney Man so I called. I called and also left an email through their "contact us" portal on the website. First, it took 2 weeks to get a call back and then as we spoke, the man was rude as he tried to schedule me. (I should have stopped right there but I like to give grace if someone is having a bad day) He said we needed to hurry it up because he was at a light if I wanted to actually schedule. He said he could fit me in in 2 weeks THAT was today. I told him I was a school teacher and couldn't be home anytime before 3pm. He said fine and we made the date. Today I RAN out of school and with traffic got home at 3:05pm. I figured he would be waiting or just coming. I looked around and there was no hanger to say he was there. No call to confirm to appointment or anything. I waited until 3:30pm and called the number he called me on a few weeks ago with no answer. I left a message and got no call back. I tried again at 4:15pm and finally got an answer. They man said he came about 30 minutes early and knocked on the door and waited. Remember: I told him I was a school teacher and could in no way be earlier than 3pm. THEN he said the appointment was at 3pm and he left at 3:04. I was home at 3:05 FOR SURE so I'm a bit doubtful that this is really true. He was very gruff and dismissive on the phone and said if I don't like it, I can call someone else. WOW! I was shocked to be talked to in this way. He wasn't interested in working it out at all. After that comment from him it was clear more conversation was not going to help so I ended the call and that was it. I wouldn't recommend engaging this company for any reason based on my personal experience. It was one of the worst I've ever had. I have been doing a lot as this is a new house for my family and dealing with a lot of people and no one has come even close to this. I am sadly disheartened and on a search for a better company to deal with for sure.

His was not the lowest estimate nor the highest.

He came on the date he said he would and completed the job quickly. I've got a warranty on the material used. Hopefully, we won't have any leaks or problems with the new cap. From my vantage, two stories down, it looks good. The price was nearly 1/3 of others.

His estimate was much cheaper than others. He came out and did the work on time. My problem is subsequent to that because before that the chimney was leaking and now continues to leak. I keep calling him to come out and look around to see what is wrong. He said he came out when I was not there.
