As far as I know it was fine. I didn't follow him around as I had other things to do in the house. He was very nice and professional. Everything checked out well.

It turned out okay. They had to do a check and he said it needed freon. It hasn't apparently been fixed right but the service has been good. They charged me over four hundred dollars for the freon. We don't know what's wrong with it. They came out pretty quick. I thought that much for freon was a little much but someone told me that it was about right.

Bryant Heating and Cooling of Lexington were amazing. Jason a technician was exceptionally responsive, courteous, and he took the time to write up 3 different estimates for our Insurance company and was approved, and he was able to hit the approved estimate exactly. His crew were very professional and we are very satisfied with having his expert knowledge using our current Furnace and heating system and knew exactly our set up for maximum efficiency.

We noticed our furnace had stopped working on a Saturday afternoon and the house was getting cold. I called Bryant because they advertise no weekend/overtime fees. They told me someone would arrive within a couple of hours and someone did. He told us the furnace could be repaired for $2100 or replaced for $4400. Since the furnace was very old this was not a surprise and we chose to replace. He told us the job couldn't be done until Monday. We left home for a hotel while we waited. There wasn't a lot of detail given about when the work would begin and we had to call back several times to get more information. During one of the phone calls the girls who answer at the main phone number told us they should be able to replace the furnace on Sunday without a problem. Since this was different from what the tech told us, we called for him again and he told us that they don't do installations in Lexington on Sundays. The installation crew was supposed to arrive around noon on Monday to begin working. We were told our appointment window was 12-3pm. They didn't show up until almost 3pm and did not call to say they would be late. The installers didn't speak to me very much but they were singing and laughing loudly in the crawl space while they worked. They were at our home for about 3 hours, and the furnace was running when they left. Our house only warmed from 41 degrees to 50 degrees in the first 3 hours after they left, and then the furnace stopped running continuously and started running in short bursts blowing cold air. We have two 3-year olds and this was unacceptable. The forecast low for the night was 5 degrees. We called Bryant to have them come back and fix whatever the problem was since they JUST installed it. They told us there was no one available to come to our house until 9am the next morning. We expressed to them that this was unacceptable. I called again to ask why they advertise that they do 24/7 emergency service but would not come to help us. The woman on the phone said there was no one available. I began calling other companies and within an hour found another company who did emergency service and could be at our house in 40 mins. When he arrived he told us he was "disturbed" by the installation of our new furnace and quickly determined that the flue vent pipe was improperly positioned, causing condensate to build up. The pipe was full of water which was preventing the furnace from lighting. He went on to tell us the furnace was improperly installed to the extent that he recommended we call the city inspector to examine it first thing in the morning. He told us as it was, the furnace would not pass inspection and it was a "dangerous situation" and needed immediate repair. He drilled a tiny hole in the flue vent to drain the water so the furnace would heat our home overnight, and opened an additional vent in the crawl space for safety. He was very clear about what he did and what it meant for our safety, and he again encouraged us to let the house to get warm and then shut the furnace off until it could be repaired and inspected. Needless to say we were not at all pleased with Bryant at this point. The next morning we called Bryant before our 9am appointment and asked to speak to management. The installation supervisor came to our home to see the job, and more or less agreed that it wasn't properly installed. He then tried to sell us a new A/C. We need a new A/C, but there was no way we were going to give them thousands more dollars - our furnace was not even working properly yet. He returned with the same workers later that afternoon and they reinstalled the furnace. They also agreed to clean our coils and refund the fee we paid to the other company the night before when they would not help us (we asked, they did not offer). When I signed the final paperwork after the re-installation, the tech told me he never even thought that the position of the vent pipe would matter or cause the problem we had, which demonstrated to me that he is not properly trained to do his job. In the end, the furnace was inspected by the city and passed. They completed the job, but we are very unhappy with our experience and there is no way I can trust this company in the future. They didn't seem particularly sorry that they did a poor job the first time around. Next time we will call someone who will care enough to do the work correctly the first time. **Update - The response below from Bryant is just another disappointment in a long list of bad things from this company. Our furnace was NOT a temporary install, it was shoddy work. And they agree with me on that. Yet still respond as if the problem was my fault.

We appreciate you taking time to share your experience as it helps us to improve our service. During extremely cold and busy times, it’s not uncommon to install a furnace for temporary use. It is safe to operate, but doesn't look “pretty”. We come back at a later time to finish the install (definitely prior to inspection), thus insuring you have heat as soon as possible. We have taken care of the amount you paid to have the other company out and have cleaned the coils and venting on the air conditioner for no charge. I apologize for the miscommunication, but I guarantee we will stand behind our work and make sure your furnace is operating properly. I have also added one year of preventative maintenance for your air conditioner and furnace to our system. Please contact us with any other concerns. Best Regards, Bryant Heating & Cooling

Let me start by saying that I am not one to typically write reviews whether good or bad, especially bad. I felt the need to create this review because I am honest when it comes to all aspects of dealing with people and expect the same in return. I also don't like being taken for a ride and do everything in my power to prevent that from happening. I am also a handy person and fix most issues around the house myself. Now that that's out of the way... I was having issues with my heat pump during the last stretch of single digit temperatures. After I performed elementary diagnosis I came to the conclusion that the heating coils inside of the air handler weren't working. I called Bryant due to my prior experience of using their preventative services. They had given me prompt, courteous service in the past. Upon engaging them for this issue the technician came out right away. After a short diagnosis he confirmed my suspicions and discovered that the heat coils were not functioning. The cost to replace the coils was $900 and he could have the parts from the warehouse the next day. He also told me that replacing the coils wouldn't guarantee any extended life out of the entire system and that a full replacement would be $6500. Being unable to afford $6500, let alone $900 I took my chances and said to go ahead and order the parts. $900. He placed the order and was on his way. The technician was prompt, courteous and professional in that regard. I decided to crawl under the house and do further testing myself. After removing the cover from the air handler I immediately noticed 2 circuit breakers that had rusty connections. I pulled out the multimeter and discovered that one of the breakers was not passing electricity. It turns out that this was the breaker that supplied the current to the heating coils. I turned off the power to the unit at the breaker box and proceeded to remove the entire heating coil assembly that also contained the 2 aforementioned circuit breakers. This entire process took 10 minutes. Since both breakers were rusty I decided to replace them both and was able to source the breakers for a total of $80. In a matter of a few hours I had replaced them both, reinserted the heating coils, and powered up the unit. I verified with the multimeter that the new, $40 breaker was indeed now passing electricity. I buttoned everything up, packed up my tools, and went back into the house. Turned on the heater at the thermostat and voila the heat was functioning better than it had since I bought the house. Needless to say I called and cancelled the next day's service appointment and paid the $65 misdiagnosed service charge over the phone. Cost of fixing it myself: $65 Bryant misdiagnosed service call charge + $40 self sourced part = $105. Which results in a savings of: $900 Bryant repair quote - $105 total out of pocket = $795!!! This interaction was truly disheartening. It underscores my thinking in that it seems most folks nowadays are concerned about the bottom line and true customer service is hard to find.

***UPDATE 1/26/15 I was contacted by the company, they apologized about the not perfect experience I had during the previous service call, this time they sent another technician who did a complete checkup of my heating system, the technician was very courteous and professional, took the time to check the system, offer feedback on what to do, to improve the efficiency of the heating system, was willing to answer all my questions, and care about using over boots to make sure my house stayed as clean as it was when he arrived, I would highly recommend this company to anybody, it takes a company focused on the customer satisfaction to admit their mistakes and offer solutions to them, they took the time to address my concerns and I will come back to them when needed. 1/19/15 After installing a new thermostat at around 5:00 pm, somehow I ended up blowing a fuse, the unit was non responding and bryant was the only company that was able to get to my house the same day, they were punctual, willing to explain the job to be done and any additional concerns I had about the thermostats that I had installed, is the first time that I call a HVAC company to my house, so it seems to me a bit pricey to pay 66 for the technician to go to my house, and then other 60 for the diagnostic charge, it seems to me that if I am paying a fee for having someone go to my house, it should include the diagnostic charge. the technician was very fast and in less than half an hour everything was working again! Other than the two charges for the visit the only thing I would recommend is to make sure the technicians to have some plastic overshoes when entering a house, because the guy that went to my house made a big mess in my carpet, because his boots were dirty with dry mud.

When we called they gave us a time window when the technician would be out and the tech showed up on time. He took the cover off of the outside unit and very quickly diagnosed the problem. An insect had gotten into the AC contactor and according to the tech had shorted it out. The relay in the contactor still worked when we turned the AC on in the house, the compressor just didn't kick in. We got the visible "remains" out and the AC unit still didn't kick in. He said that we needed a new contactor and immediately headed toward his truck to get one. I asked him how much the part cost and he quoted "about $220.00!" I expressed my shock at the price and he said "it is an expensive part." I asked if we couldn't just clean the scoring from the existing part and before I even got the sentence completed he said "no, you need a new one." He pointed out the scoring again and said the part was shot. I told him that I would just pay the diagnostic fee and we left it at that. I went in the house and looked up AC contactors on line and the average price for one for my AC was only about $30.00! I decided to see what I could do just by cleaning the scoring off and got a dental pick and ran it between the contactor points. I scraped out one last remnant of the bug that had gotten in there (which was was keeping the contacts from touching) and tested again. The compressor kicked right in and has been running fine. The diagnostic fee of $60.00 was fine I thought. I give them an F for professionalism because the tech gave me a price almost 10 times what the part actually cost and he didn't even try to clean the scoring. It was a hot, muggy weekend and maybe he just figured we'd be so desperate to get cooled down that we'd just pay whatever he said. I felt like he was trying to rip me off. I don't know if the company runs like this in general or if it was just this tech but I recommend caution if you do business with them.

Had my A/C coil freeze up over a recent weekend, and called Bryant due to their same rate on weekends TV ad. Technician showed up when promised, and added refrigerant, but claimed he couldn't get any more in the unit, even though the gauges showed improper pressures and temps. The leak couldn't be that bad...but he said my indoor coil is probably going bad. After calling someone else out 3 weeks later who filled the entire system, got proper temps, and used a sniffer to find where the leak actually was, I am realizing now how much I got ripped off by Bryant. Firstly, $100/lb. of R22 is way too high (Bryant's rate), I paid $65 to the other local place. Bryant didn't weigh refrigerant in, just took a guess. Tech. gave a verbal price of $2200 to replace my indoor coil...waiting on the quote from the other place. I'd be surprised if the other quote comes in more than $1200.

We called 4 HVAC contractors including the one who had installed our unit only 2 years earlier and due to the holiday 3 of them didn't call back and the one that did said they couldn't be out for a week. We had guests in the for long weekend and no air conditioning. After seeing the TV ad I gambled and called Bryant. They came out the next day. They weren't the cheapest, but I would NEVER use anyone else now. Service and attention to detail is everything and these folks are on the money when it comes to that.

We noticed that our downstairs A/C wasn't working the evening of Memorial Day. We called that night, but knew that 7:30pm on a holiday was likely not going to get a service call. Fortunately it hadn't gotten too hot outside at that point, and the house was still comfortable. They came out a 9am the following day, had all the necessary parts on the truck and was able to get it up and running within an hour. Jason was very professional, and we will definitely call to ask for him in the future. Thanks!

They gave us a quote for one product. Then they installed a lesser product and charged us for the 15 SEER. They gave me the quote over the phone and I gave the go ahead to install. After installation, my wife signed the contract that stated that it was a 3.5 ton unit with the model number, but the SEER number was not specified. When I got home Friday night, I discovered it was the 13 SEER instead of the 15 SEER. I called Bryant Heating & Cooling and spoke with Anthony, the owner. He told me to look at the bottom of the document my wife signed, it said they do not honor any verbal agreements. So essentially they quoted me a price for a higher model, then switched it with a lesser one. The cost difference between the two is about $2000. The final contract has very little information, just the 3.5 ton Carrier unit and model number that was installed with the final cost. There is no breakout of labor, materials, and unit cost. I am very upset that this company refuses to honor the original agreement or resolve this situation. I'm out $2000, and there is nothing I can do but write this review.

We have reviewed this situation with [member name removed]. We have explained several times the equipment that was delivered and installed per the contract was the correct equipment. All the warranties, pricing and model numbers on the contract match what was installed. Nothing gives us any indication that a mistake was made during the contract or installation to indicate that the wrong equipment was ordered. During our conversations, [member name removed] was very pleasant and we thought we had an agreement to increase the warranty on the system they contracted us to install in order to match the much better warranty they claim we told them they were purchasing. [member name removed] was not pleasant to work with--he used vulgar, offensive and threatening language. He also sent over 70 text messages to the technician involved, most of which were also threatening and vulgar as well and were sent in the middle of the night. However, the contract that was signed by the [member name removed] was completed as it was authorized--the matching equipment was delivered and installed. The only solution [member name removed] offered was to remove and refund the entire installation or replace the existing system with the upgraded system. We don’t agree with these resolutions, but we are still very open to resolve the situation in a manner that is suitable for both parties.

We'll this gentleman had never service this type of furnace . He had to use my sweeper to clean out all the dust. I had to show him how to get into the furnace to service it. He did not bring a sweeper with him. We did work as a team made it a learning experience. He with help of the office were able to give me an estaminet on a ductless system.

Was not Installed correctly at first and was setup with return air over the garage where it was cycling in outside air. After several calls to repair issues (they were very responsive) finally got an "expert" in to diagnose the problem correctly. Also had the air unit on a Circuit breaker that was too small. They fixed this also. Note: The unit was installed early summer

They called me after I had purchased the deal and they came out within a week. One technician came out to do the work and it took about an hour to complete. He told me what he was going to do and he had given me suggestions on things to do in the future. I was satisfied with the results.
Description of Work: I purchased the big deal for $49 for a Seasonal Furnace Tune-Up. They were able to change my filter for me and gave me a written report.

They found some things that I had suspensions were wrong and they confirmed it. Scheduling went well and they called me to set up an appointment. The technician that came out was prompt, he actually arrived early, and he explained everything well as he was doing it. I was satisfied with the results.
