Description of Work: Scoot repaired drywall and placed plywood access to plumbing to my washing machine/bathroom.He also replaced molding and paneling on adjacent wall. In addition to that, he was asked to replace rotten wood around two exterior windows and reinstall storm windows. Scott did exactly what he said he said he would do, and at the price he said he would charge. Not only that, but he cleaned up after himself, performed a very professional job, and his recommendations were very good without inflating cost. Thanks for the no Hassle!!!

It went great. The 3 layers of wall paper was a surprise but Scott took it all in stride. He did have to do extra dry wall repair as a result but did not charge extra. Previous crown molding was incorrectly installed, Scott removed it, suggested an inexpensive way to add more 'drama' to the molding by adding a 2nd layer of trim. Installed new chair rails and made all new paneling below the chair rail. Primed and painted walls, suggested painting the ceiling which I agreed - he was right, it looks great. Due to a family illness I had to delay finishing the project, Scott kept in touch and was able to fit this project in when we were able to start again.
Description of Work: Dining Room - 3 layers of wall peper removed, chair rail removed, dry wall repair. Installed new chair rail, crown molding and wall molding. Painted walls and ceiling.

Scott was very professional and gave a us an accurate quote. He did an excellent job and we couldn't be happier with the end result. He was neat, cleaned up everything, and finished a day earlier than expected. A very hard worker who is a perfectionist. We have four dogs and he dealt with them very well. Additionally, my husband was patching drywall in our kitchen and Scott gave him some tips to complete it and showed him how at no charge.

Two other bids for the project were given, and the Nelson (soon to be "ION" ) Contracting bid fell in the middle of the two. Owner Scott Nelson was exceptional with follow up (phone and email) and he and his partner Tommy were both on time, diligent, and conscientious with each task they undertook. I appreciated the way they outlined the details of the tasks and patiently fielded the questions we had along the way. They were also able to spell out a rationale for further work that could be done to improve our overall plumbing systems when our budget permitted. A couple of other factors that highlight their process and the character of their business: Their presence on Angie?s List conveys their willingness to be transparent with customer feedback, and acknowledges their desire to operate with a current business model for the generation of homeowners they will serve. For instance, Scott?s iPhone allowed him to reply to email and use internet while he was out and about, and also was handy when he shot and emailed me a photo of an odd receptacle needed for a Dacor stove which I was then able to show the guy at Brock McVey. Speaking of the stove, it proved a little tricky, and Scott spent extra time and a couple extra visits to be sure before he finished that everything not only worked well but also looked good. When we need work done again, they?ll get the call.

The ceiling looks great. Scott came to our house when he said he would be there. He was very neat and cleaned up his mess each day. He purchased all the supplies for us, including the paint which he was able to get at a discount. He is joining his company with another one and will be known as Ion Contracting in the future.

We decided to remodel our downstairs half bathroom and had contracted with a local contractor who started the work and left unexpectedly without finishing. It had been an ordeal, cost overruns, not showing up, not performing the work asked for, etc., until one day he just stop coming. So, we had a partially redone bathroom not far enough along for us to paint or use with some mistakes, i.e., light switch in the wrong place, water lines crisscrossed (hed hooked up the hot water to the toilet!) etc. We contemplated finishing the job ourselves but decided we wanted a "pro" to do it and asked around for recommendations. A friend of ours who had just had some work done in her home recommended Scott Nelson of Nelson Remodeling. We were thrilled with the results. He called when said he would. He showed up when he said he would. He started work when he said he would. He called if there were any problems to advise us and offered possible solutions. He worked quickly, quietly, and efficiently, cleaning up as he went. The work was performed as we specified, extremely well and Scott would go just that little extra step that made the difference. For example, when he and his assistant began installing the bead board and it didnt go on as flat as he liked it (due to imperfections in the drywall from the previous contractor) he took it down and started over, getting a better fit and the quality we expected. He made helpful recommendations, like adding quarter-round molding, without charging more, that made the difference from just doing a good job to caring about the results and leaving us with a remodeled bathroom we love. And he did it all with a pleasant, accommodating attitude while working around our four dogs. He even made friends with the dogs (who are very protective) so they would let Scott into our home to work when we were not able to be there so the work could be completed on time!
Description of Work: Finished a half bath remodeling job (that was left uncompleted by previous contractor) which included some dry walling, installing and priming bead board, baseboard and top rail, and installing toilet, sink and light fixtures.

It went very well -- the walls were in rough shape from previous owners. All cracks, holes and uneven surfaces were prepped, sanded and smoothed. The end result was beautiful - no evidence of previous wear and tear. Very satisfied with the work done.

The project went great - it looks like new finished construction - very nice! Scott was friendly and professional and very accommodating to my busy schedule. I added to his scope of work from his original visit to my house and he was up for the added challenge/work and did a great job with all of it. I also like the fact that he warrantied his work for a year.
