+ -1 moreOverall everything went great. Only one minor problem was with some of the vinyl gutters that I installed several years ago that were cracked or broken during the completion of this job. They did replace some of the gutters that were broken, but they were not identical to the original gutters. On the plus side the job was completed very quickly (less than 1 and a half days). The AIC bid for the job was the cheapest of the four companies that I contacted, and their warranty along with the GAF warranty seemed to be better than the others. They waited until the weather was suitable for replacing (roof was replaced in the end of February) a roof instead of trying to work just to finish and get paid for the job. The work crew was courteous, performed professionally, protected my property (except for the gutters), and did a good job of cleaning up. There was always a crew supervisor at the job site, and he checked with me several times to determine if I was satisfied with the way the work was being completed. Of major importance to me is the fact that the roof was replaced over 4 months ago and that even though there have been several heavy rains and high winds; the roof looks great and there have been no problems with leaks.
Description of Work: Tore off and hauled away old roof. Replaced all flashing,drip edge, boots, felt, etc. Also replaced several sheets of plywood and 1 by 12 inch boards which I knew were in bad shape. Shingles were replaced with GAF Timberline HD shingles which look great.

The work was scheduled within one week and the job was completed in one day The workers were thorough and considerate. The roof was well done, looks great and cleanup was very thorough. + 1 moreThey were lousy. It was a 2 month job into 6 months. I had to constantly fight with them to get them back out and it was not good. My roof did not get completed and it was really bad and then the weather set in. Sometimes a week at a time they would not show even though they said they would be there in the morning. They would not return my calls. The people would just not show. It was not good. I had to watch them which really bothered me. If I did not watch them they would not put the wrap under the vinyl. I had to take some of it off. I should not have to do that. They were suppose to be inspected and they never did the final inspection so I really don't know what all they did underneath. The price was good but my insurance was paying for it. After talking to the guy I thought it would be a good job but once the work started I knew. There were 4 different vinyl people that were working on it that either quit or put my job on the back burner. The job should have been done in September before my vacation but I canceled that because I needed to see what they were doing.
Description of Work: I used AIC Roofing & Construction Inc to work on storm damage for the roof and vinyl.

+ -1 moreAIC came out and took care of the problems. They were very professional. We also had a piece a couple of pieces of siding that needed to be replaced. They graciously did the repairs for no charge. It is wonderful to know that this company will stand by their work. The issues we had were minor (the bathroom vent had previously been vented out the side of the house and we may have miscommunicated). I also thought that our tenants (students) may have been responsible for the broken board on the roof but AIC said there was no way they could have done the damage. So nice to see an honest business. I will hire them again when we need the roof to our home redone.
Description of Work: We had a roof put on by AIC at a Rental Property of ours a couple of years ago. We were very happy with the job they did. They were reliable, reasonably priced and the new roof looked great. We never checked in the attic but there were a few things they forgot. They were suppose to hook up our bathroom vent and there was one part of the tip of the roof with a small broken board. Two years later when we finally went up the attic we noticed these problems.

+ -1 moreSo far so good ! My first estimate was for over $5000 ! thats right $5000 ! the other company wanted to re roof and do unnecessary work, ie re-roof half my house. Blain was GREAT ! The price was right and the team was professional and cleaned up. And Blaine was right. AIC fixed the leak. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get a few estimates. My elderly neighbor would have said yes to the first estimate not knowing any better.
Description of Work: Got on roof, took pictures, explained issue through drawings pointed his finger at me and said " I know this is the problem and we can fix it"

+ 0 moreAfter the tornado that hit Paris I found I had enough damage to require a new roof. Also I had some gutter damage that caused rain to pour into my dining room. I talked with 4 different companies. I really wanted to buy and support local craftsman. I had just endured a hellish experience with a local painter that cured me of that novelty. I did talk to another large firm that is also named on Angie's list. What convinced me was Blaine. I have a house built in the 1860's and the gutters are built in. He had worked on them before and suggested the rubber liners and knew how to repair the damaged areas. All the local guys wanted to do was slap on some shingles and get paid. I had to wait for a few weeks but the weather was not cooperating. When the date was set, the men showed up and WORKED. All day into evening. They had to wait again for the weather but they were concerned about the job being done properly not just quick. When I pointed out areas that the ladders had marked on my new paint jog they sent someone out to touch it up. And everything was cleaned up. Thank you so much. R Redmond

+ -1 moreContacted the company on 11/24/2014 after my parent's roof suffered some wind damage. The owner came out the next day for an estimate and the initial repair date was scheduled for the following week. I asked him to squeeze in my parent's home as the weather forecast was rain after Thanksgiving. Thankfully the company managed to send someone out and the roof was repaired on Wednesday 11/25/2014. The roof was repaired with care and the employee took the extra step of adding sealant under the shingles so that they won't easily blow off in the future. It's been raining pretty much non-stop since 12/01/2014 so my parents managed to avoid water damage from a leak. Highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Repaired wind damaged roof. A couple of shingles were blown off by inclement weather.

+ -1 moreThe whole job went very well. Everyone associated with AIC was courteous, professional and polite. The crew worked hard and took efforts to keep the work area clean. Blaine and Craig answered my questions and took the time to make sure I was satisfied. Everyone on this job from start to finish was a credit to AIC, and I would use the company again. After I paid for the complete job, I realized I did not utilize the 5% off coupon AIC provides to Angie's List members. I contacted Blaine about the coupon, and he was more than willing to honor the coupon and promptly sent me a refund check - no argument and no hassle. The whole experience with AIC was positive, and I would not hesitate to use AIC in the future.
Description of Work: The existing roof on my home was old and the asphalt shingles had become brittle to the extent that some were blowing off now and again in strong winds. I contacted Blaine Adams of AIC who came out to give me an estimate to replace the shingles. Blaine came to the house and did a thorough inspection of the old roof. He gave me an estimate, with various options I could select. After some time of thinking about what I really wanted to do with the roof, Blaine and I agreed upon a price for a complete reroof job. I gave him 20% down to start. Blaine said the company was backed up about three to four weeks out, and would call me when they were ready to start. AIC contacted me about two weeks before the start date to make sure we’d be ready, and they called again the week before to confirm. The crew arrived as agreed, and Craig Kendrickson from AIC explained what the job entailed in detail. The whole crew did an outstanding job, and worked a very long first day, well into the evening, and finished the afternoon of the second day. The crew tore off old roof, replaced 6 sheets of plywood decking, put on new composite roof shingles, put in eave and ridge vents, added ice and water shield to the valleys and eaves, replaced pipe boots, replaced chimney flashing and replaced the old roll roofing on two flat porch roofs with rubber membrane. With the exception of some roofing nails that the rolling magnet did not catch, the crew cleaned up the area exceptionally well.

They came when they said they would to give us an estimate, explained the job they would do, and returned and did it when they said they would. It's a pretty roof.
Description of Work: Tore off old roof's six layers down to the original cedar shakes, removed 2 chimneys above roofline, installed plywood decking, new composite roof, and guttering on 1800 SF house with complicated roofline and 500 SF garage.

However, they told me that all I needed at the moment was to have the boots replaced. The roof would be able to wait another year or so. I was very grateful, and they did the work that was needed quickly and effectively. They will be replacing my roof when it is ready.

I know that the use of nail guns makes it possible to get a roof replaced within a reasonable amount of money, but nail guns should not be used. see: http://www.roofingissues.com/roofing-nailguns-versus-hand-nailing/ I never saw the guys do the work, so I don't know if they were careful to remove nails that went in wrong. Maybe they did. My problem is with the whole industry using nail guns on roofs.

+ 0 moreBlaine Adams is fast to come and give a quote, poor in the follow up on his jobs. First phase of work scheduled for 9 am on 11/6. No one showed up. Called and was told they were on their way. Roofer didn't complete the work till the afternoon. Gutter crew also expected around 9 am didn't show up until 1:30pm. Calls to Blaine Adams, the president of AIC Roofing, weren't returned until much later; I called the company secretary, who was impolite and made excuses; showed no accountability or had any knowledge of scheduled jobs - she had to call Blaine Adams to find out what was going on. No explanations ever given for lateness from anyone. My later conversation with Blaine Adams yielded no apology and no explanation. Second phase of gutter work scheduled for 10 am on 11/18: crew showed up at 1:00pm. Again, no call from AIC to inform me that they'd be late; I had to call to find out where they were. Once again, no explanations. The bottom line: AIC Roofing receives a fail in customer service. When I take time off work to be available for a job, I want to work with a company that respects me and my time. AIC Roofing did neither. I will not give this company my business again. NOTE: I learned after the fact that the gutter work was done by Chris Baker, from The Gutter Guy. He is pleasant and does good work. So, if you need gutter work, call him directly and bypass AIC roofing.
Description of Work: Roofing - replaced several damaged shingles, seal exposed nails; installed new pipe collars Gutters - replaced gutters and downspouts on home with larger 6" gutters.

+ -1 moreThe salesperson, Blaine Adams, climbed up on the roof and made a thorough evaluation of the problem causing the leak. His presentation was complete and easy to understand. We scheduled the repair and the roofers called the day before the work was to be completed. They showed up on time, did a very nice job and cleaned up nicely after completing the roof repair. So far, so good, the leak seems to have stopped.
Description of Work: AIC replaced flashing around fireplace.
