I had a very frustrating and complicated drainage problem that had been repaired before. Brian responded quickly to my request for help. His diagnosis of the problem was correct and his bid was very fair. The old line was pulled up and the breaks were very evident. The new line was placed; a drain was correctly placed at the end of the line as well as a collection box installed for runoff. He then designed from scratch a drainage line and system for the other side of the house, which had never been dry. He was able to find a grass seed that would grow in virtual complete shade. He prepped the clay soil, sowed the seed and repositioned the irrigation heads for proper coverage. Low and behold, we have grass after 8 years and many professionals and many $$ spent. The company relandscaped the beds in front of our house by removing the monkey grass and using the bushes we had, giving us a completely new curb appeal. I completely recommend Acacia Hardscape.

Acacia installed a irrigation system in my yard. The owner, Brian, is very personalable and really eager to get your business. He spent as much time as was needed to talk to me about irrigation and was prompt in getting a bid to me. It was two weeks before the job was started and that was not a problem, and he kept me posted. When they got to my job, it took them two days to install and they worked hard. However, after I accepted his bid, the customer service went down hill(1) When digging trench, a gas line was hit. Acacia said it was the gas company's fault because the line wasn't buried at the correct depth. The gas company said it was buried at correct dept. In the end, I had to add $$ to the cost for the hand-digging of the trench. I don't think I should have been responsible for this(2) The next thing that went wrong that one of the sprinklers stuck on and ran all day when I was at work. Owner didn't really know what was causing the problem, but thought it was probably a power surge electrical system. It took another all day run to finally convince him to take the issue seriously. Finally, he found there was a pebble that cause the sprinkler to occasionally stick open. When it finally got fixed, there have been no further problems. I had to pay $400+ water bill for those two days.(3) One bag of grass seed was spread in yard after the trenches were filled in. No grass grew, but I've got plenty of weeds. Multiple times I asked about the yard because I wanted to make sure I had grass. Just before this, the yard had been re-seeded!(4) I am watering the neighbors' yards. I don't want to do this, but I do not know how to adjust sprinkler heads. There are spots in the yard that are not getting watered. The hot summer has left me with brown spots. I asked several times for a lesson on how to operate the irrigation system...how to run manually, adjust sprinkler heads, etc. It's been four months and I haven't had lesson and I've continued to ask. (5) During the initial discussions with Brian, we came up with a Phase 2 in which he would come back and do some landscape and hardscape work. I have yet to heard anything from him. I'm ready to contact someone else.

I found this company through the BBB website. They returned my message for an estimate the same day. The cost of our repair to the irrigation system was almost 70% less than the previous company. The work was done quickly and neatly. They adjusted the water flow and run times so much better, we now have grass in our backyard. Just yesterday, 6/15/12, I broke a sprinkler head and today, 6/16/12 it is replaced and told me what to do for a holly tree needing help. Brian Woods is the President of the company, I would highly suggest letting him bid on any irrigation system needs from installation to maintenance.
