A Professional Tree Service

Very well. I did not know who to call but his reviews on Angies List were excellent so I gave him a call. Ken came to my house within an hour and gave me an estimate. We set a date for the service and he called me the day before to confirm. He called me the day of the service explaining that the previous job was running a bit long and we set a new time an hour or so later All very professional. When his workers arrived, they reviewed the work to be done in detail. Their work was exactly as agreed and they cleaned up everything. Excellent job. I would recommend them to anyone.

The work quality was superb. All of the trees were nicely shaped and the oaks, crabapple, and weeping cherry were raised to make mowing and moving about the yard easier. The yard waste was all taken away. The price was significantly below the estimate since they did not need to use a bucket and the price was lowered on the pear. All in all, the work was excellent and the price was very low for the quality and quantity of the work.

Everything went quite well. This was a very large tree and there were some complicating factors in that the home's projecting eaves made it impossible to get the bucket truck down the driveway. A Professional Tree Service lived up to their name and worked around the difficulties, climbing to cut, then dollying the large chunks of the trunk up the driveway and out to the curb. The stump grinding also went smoothly and the clean-up was fine. The tree that was removed was on the fence line with a neighbor's yard and pool, yet not a single twig and very little sawdust fell into the other yard. In all, three different crews worked on this project and we liked every single worker. So, overall recommendation = very professional and accommodating!

I checked several tree cutting companies on Angie's List and chose three companies to contact. The first one I called was Professional Tree Service. He was prompt in returning my call and setting up an appointment. The owner, Kenneth Berry, spent quite a while going through the yard noting things I wanted done and making suggestions. He seemed to have a wealth of knowledge about trees and plants. He gave us a quote $420 if we had all the work done at one time and also took off 5% for senior discount making the price $400. I was impressed with Ken and asked him to do the job, but he could not get to it for a couple of weeks. At the time of the quote I was somewhat undecided to cut the trees in front or trim them. Ken said it would be easier to cut the trees than to trim them, and I later called and asked him to just cut the larger tree and to stump grind the stump. I did not ask for an additional price quote nor did he offer one. I guess I just assumed that since Ken said it would be easier to cut the tree than doing the trimming there would not be that much difference in price. I had to leave Lexington and my son talked with the company right before they did the work. He asked that they cut the additional tree in front, and cut rather than trim the bushes in the back of the house. I was received a call from Ken about a week or two later saying that the price for the work totaled about $1420. I was somewhat shocked with the difference in price but knew that A Professional Tree Service had done different work than had originally been agreed on. Ken said that he stump grounded the additional tree in front of the house and 12 stumps in the back of the house. We finally settled on a price of $1220 for the work done and mailed Ken a check for the amount. Later I talked to my son and he said that no stumps were ground in the back yard. Bush and small trees were cut between ankle and knee height. My son said he would be satisfied if they were cut down to ground level. I called Ken and asked if he could call my son and set up a meeting to talk about the job. Ken called my son once and my son called him back to schedule an appointment. Ken came by and left a note on the door saying that he looked at the back yard and the trees could not be cut any more due to them being close to a fence or patio. I talked with my son about the grade to give the tree company and he said he would give them a B- because he did a good job but could have done a better job. He charged for work not done and did not try to work out something at the end. I liked Ken but am unsure if I would hire him again.

They came out and did a great job! Cleaned up after themselves, and even put some leftover firewood we had in their wood chipper for us!

I used them two times and they did a good job. The quality of the work was very good.

I came home and my wife said the tree was gone. There was no dirt or debris. Just the big tree was gone. I had asked for Norway Spruce next to the house be trimmed. I looked up and that also was done. A few days later, I was home and and heard and unusual noise. I looked out and the stump was being ground out. Ken and his group are 'on it!'

Owner very prompt in coming out to give estimate. Guys were very professional in the work they performed. Cleaned up after finished. Would highly recommend this company.

I had an old maple tree that was failing. It had a lot of deadwood faling out of the top. I called for an appointment to see if it was worth saving. The owner himself came out to see the tree and was very thorough. He explained that it was pretty old and that to try and save the tree would probably not work. His crew came the next day to remove the tree. They were very quick and professional. I was impressed at the clean up they did. A few days later, the stump was ground out. The fellow who did that job was very careful not to gouge up the ground more than necessary. He did the work considerately. Then he amazed me by carefully raking the dirt and mulch back over the area he had worked on. He then really impressed me by using a leaf blower to clean up the dirt and grass his equipment left in the street. I would definitely use this company again.

The team showed up on time and performed their service as committed. They were courteous and completed the project in a very professional manner.

I have used their services at least three times. They responded quickly, performed work as agreed in a timely manner and for the quoted price, cleaned up well! I would call again if required.

The company owner returned my initial call right away, and scheduled the work within a reasonable time. The two young men who came to do the work were very professional, and did a great job. I asked them to add one more item that was not on the original list, and they completed that as well. I was very pleased with the service provided.

The owner came by very quickly (next day?) to provide an estimate for the job. I accepted his bid, and he and his team came a few days later. They very quickly and efficiently cut down the tree and removed the debris. The tree was 25-30 feet tall, and part of the core had fallen in a previous windstorm. The job was somewhat challenging because the tree trunk was about a foot from a fence and several branches contacted the fence. Some branches were also close to the house. They came back a day later and ground the stump and some surface roots which were interfering with drainage in the back yard. They were prompt with taking calls or returning them, and they were punctual for scheduled work sessions. I would use them again.

They did a great job. It was easy to set the appointment and Ken and his crew did a great job. They cleaned up everything to better than before they started, and gave us the name of the product so the smaller trees won't grow back. My mom loved Ken.

I cannot reccommend A Professional Tree Service highly enough! One of the great things about living in Lexington is the trees--even better is a great tree service.

Every step of the way was very professional. I called for an estimate and they were here the next morning. We discussed the different aspects of the job and he left an estimate. I compared with a couple of other estimates and they were a bit higher, but not all that much and, based on high Angies's List ratings and their responsiveness, I went with them. Scheduled the job for a couple of days later, and a crew showed up right on time with a big cherry picker (bucket truck) and a large chipper. Spent several hours working through everything efficiently and well. Cleaned up everything as they went. Came back a few days later to ground the tree stumps. Very pleased overall. Had a big storm blow through again this past week-end, and had them come again to price out the job, and hired them again.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will use them again in the future and would defiantly recommend them to anyone in need of their services.
