hardwood floor
 + -1 moreWe have had a horrible experience. This was scheduled more than a month ago, we got all of the furniture out of 3 bedrooms and closets, we scheduled to be out of town a few days of the last week of September to finish, we were told it would take 4-5 days. Left Saturday, September 28, Shawn said they would begin work on Monday, September 30th. We returned the following Sunday (October 6th), after calling on Friday and Shawn said they were not finished, he had to fire crew because they messed up our master bedroom. When we returned home, the master bedroom floor is the biggest mess I have ever seen (photograph attached to review). The contractor we brought in to evaluate the work said they could not believe anyone that did the work would know anything about hardwood floors. Shawn, the owner, is in Florida on Fall Break currently, I spoke with them, we had someone local come in and is willing to work at night to complete redo the work. Right now, we are having to sleep in the recliner and couch, since we could not move back into the rooms since they are not finished. Had to give him half at the beginning, almost $1500, said he would send us a refund of our money. We assumed he would be doing the job, but we think he had a crew doing the work and when he came to check he saw how bad it was. There is staining on the baseboards, which will probably cost more to fix. They did sand one other bedroom; the person we brought in to look at the home said that the sanding was done incorrectly and will have to be redone. The third bedroom hadn't even been started on.
Description of Work: We hired them to refinish our hardwood floors.

Description of Work: Met and gave an estimate for home remodel on old home. Provided a contract and asked for 1/2 payment up front. Brought crew to home and walked them through the work. After that he sent unsupervised young workers who ended up botching the one room that did not need anything done to it.

 + 0 moreFantastic contractor. I highly recommend them. Initially another contractor was enlisted to do the work, but they never lived up to their promises and continued to delay the job. I then contacted Absolute Home Improvements and they came right over and gave a very competitive quote. I accepted their quote, set a date and Shawn kept me informed until the day worked started. Prompt, courteous, priced competitive and kept in contact with me during a rain delay. After seeing their work I expanded the roof repair work originally scheduled to add some new gutters.
Description of Work: A section of roof had a leak where 3 roofs converge. During heavy rains the water flowing down just over whelmed the limited roof flashing behind the aluminum siding. Added replacement to larger gutters for better drainage.

 + 11 moreIt all went very well. They are easy to work with and want their customers to be pleased. As with anyone give them a time frame that you need the work to be completed and they will work very hard to meet that deadline.
Description of Work: Shawn Green (the owner and contractor of Absolute) started working for us in late October of 2011. He and his brother Jason drywalled, painted and put down new flooring in our new study (which used to be the old kitchen), repaired other walls for painting in the hall, laundry room and bathroom. Put down ceramic tile in a powder room. Installed a pocket door and enlarged several doorways. And put down new flooring in a hall and laundry room. They installed drywall and painted the new kitchen and installed the new cabinets. They also installed drywall and new insulation in an upstairs playroom. These jobs took quite a while since we took numerous breaks over the holidays and then finally finished up in the Spring of 2012. They recently started another job for us and are near completion. They started on October 15, 2012 and are finishing up 11/15/12. This job again entailed new drywall in the dining room. and creating new headers for enlarged openings into other rooms and installing new flooring. Shawn is excellent at weaving in flooring and making repairs to wood floors. He made and welded a matching stair rail to our original staircase in an area where we added additional steps into a room. We are very pleased. This recent job has taken about 4 weeks.
