I called them Monday morning. That came that day and removed the old heater and installed the new one. It was a tricky job because the men who installed our new furnace put the pipes so the blocked the water heater. They removed these pipes to get the old one out and the new one in, then put the pipes back. We were very satisfied with the work. After they left we found that when we turned on the hot water in the kitchen the water pipes made a terrible growling sound. We called and asked them to come back . Two days later they called at 9:30 am to say they would be out. They never came. After waiting 3 days my husband did some research and solved the problem. Their leaving us hanging was very rude. I hate it when businesses do that.

We dealt initially with Sam Ward, Jr. He had done a small job for a friend, who gave us the phone number. All was well at first, when he backhoed the trench in the yard. Then he disappeared for several days. When I decided to call to see what was up, I looked up the number in the phone book, and eventually figured out that Sam Jr. did not work with his father Sam Sr. anymore. Then two days later Sam Jr. shows up, but only with a lame story to ask for the balance of the $ owed (I had paid $600 initially). Then Sam Sr shows up the next day with his crew and they get to work, laying the outside pipe and going through the foundation. (I think they may have needed the backhoe, which had been in our yard for five days - Sam Jr. must have borrowed it - and decided to do the needed work with it first.) Then Sam Jr. showed up to finish the job. A two day job took more than a week. His father had to do half of it. And he did a lousy job of repairing the torn up yard and driveway - my husband went out over the weekend and worked 4-5 hours just getting it mowable again! So, I'd say if you hire Sam Ward Plumbing, make sure you are dealing with Sam Sr., not Sam Jr. Seems like something not quite right was going on. Sam Sr. even commented that he and his son work "In different ways," which I took to mean that they do not work well together.
