I contacted multiple AC shops to check out my AC system. The first that came out told me that I could just replace the compressor, but when I called Gibson's they told me that my system was too old to do that and that I would have leaks and multiple problems if I did. They sounded very knowledgeable, but at first I thought I might just be getting a hard sale, but nothing could have been further from the truth. After I talked to a couple more shops and they confirmed that the entire system needed replacing, I started calling back around for quotes. Gibson gave me one of the better quotes and they had been so helpful that I decided to let them replace my system. First they were about $1500 less expensive than most of the shops I called. Second, they were by far the most responsive and friendly. They are a family owned business that has been doing business in Georgetown for many years. I opted for an upgraded Carrier system and had them do the work. We paid in cash, but my wife accidentally gave them too much cash. They made a special trip back out to my house to return the money without us even realizing that we had overpaid. The next day I went out and realized that they had put in an outside unit that was a step down from what I had ordered. I had ordered the mid-tier system and they had installed the lower tier system. I called Gibson and they realized that there was a mistake from the Distributor that had delivered the unit to them. They called Carrier and found out that the mid-tier system I had requested had been discontinued by Carrier, and that's why the Distributor had delivered the lower tier system. Here is where they really shined. Instead of trying to refund a small portion of the money to me, they went and picked up the highest tier outside unit that Carrier made and installed it at my house the same day with no additional charge! I was blown away! Anyone can make a mistake, but when you go out of your way to not only fix it, but to go one better, that really impresses me. I told them then that I would always recommend them to my friends. That is why I am happy to do so here on Angie's List. I highly recommend Gibson Heating and Cooling for any type of repair or service you might need. Very honest and very professional company!

Found a couple of problems I suspected anyway. Knowledgeable troubleshooting and quick repair. Very reasonable price.

I will not recommend them to anyone just for the fact that they were trying to lie to me and abuse my trust. Their people skills are bad and even the lady that answers the phone does not care to be polite.

They did a really good job. They charged $80 for the service call and $60 for the parts. I am happy with the price.

The office staff was very friendly and helpful They were punctual and professional.. I had other people come out and do repair work that would cost me a lot of money. However, Gibson was the only one who told me that it was still under warranty. They were punctual, responsive, and professional.

I have used gibson HVAC several times over the years. I have always found them to be reasonable and efficient. This last experience was no different.

He did a good job, but was extremely slow. He told us it would take a few days to order the part then would have it fixed. I had to call him for about 2 weeks in a row. He was horrible about returning phone calls and didn't return phone calls until I finally called him the last time and left him a voice mail saying if you don't have any intentions of fixing this them drop the parts off and we will have somebody else fix it. Then all of a sudden he had the part and could come to fix it. He responds well to threats, we'll put it that way. That kind of stuff is annoying to me. He uses his cell phone, I know, because when he was here working he would get a call and he would pull it out and look at it and then send the call on and put it back in his pocket. I knew he also was doing that with my calls. I thought that was bad business. He did a good job once he did it; it just took him forever to get it done. I thought he just had too much going on to do a job like this. I thought his price was very expensive and I will not use him again.

I really appreciated that they gave me a credit for work they already performed and they fixed what was wrong.

They installed central air conditioning in our 100 year old home. The job took an additional day more than estimated due to the age of the home and no fault of their own. They had to saw out half a wall inside the old furnace room and cut through old wooden walls to install the duct work. They installed a 19 seer - 4 ton Carrier unit at a price that was lower than 4 other bids for less efficient and less powerful equipment. The unit works great and is very quiet. The installers were very polite and professional. Their secretary is taking care of all registration paperwork for us. I can't say enough about them.

The new furnace qualified for the energy tax credit and a refund via Columbia Gas. They did a professional installation job, prompt, quick, neat, polite. The office did all the paperwork needed for our energy rebate, and provided info on how to get the Columbia Gas rebate. Besides all of this, we used them previously for repairs to our old furnace, and they did a great job then, too. They even went out of their way to save us money on an expensive replacement part.

Gibson Did a good Job replacing my old Geothermal unit with a new Trane Split Unit.

They are responsive, reliable and their prices are reasonable.
