The experience with them was horrible. They got the job and they said they would start right away. They brought the sheet rock and delivered it and they said it would take two weeks before they get started. The deer season came about and so it delayed it more. The delay set all the contractors behind. As soon as they completed it there were several issues but they wanted their money right away. When we told them we would pay them when the issues were resolved they still wanted the money right away. They asked to pay them and they said they would come back and fix it. We have a horrible looking drywall job and you can see the joints and the nails are popping. The straight joints are horrible. We let them know that we had issues but they still didn’t come back. It was a really bad experience. They have been around for a long time but I don’t know how they do it.

We are not sure who Member is. The only response we can give is that perhaps he has us confused with someone else. Or that an employee has done some work representing themselves as Murray Drywall Company. This does occur quite frequently in the economy that exist today. More and more, those associated with us are taking work on the side. Because they have a familiar face or have the last name, it is easy for some to think they are getting the service that Murray Drywall Co Inc has provided for well over 50 years. I got the name of Murray Drywall Company from a trusted individual in November of 2011. It took repeated calls before I was able to talk to them to schedule the work. However, the difficulty contacting them to schedule the work is nothing compared to the difficulties I have had trying to reach them for the past two months to correct a problem they left. David will not return my calls. Not one message I have left since April has been returned. He has made no effort at all. Although, it took some time to schedule the work, at least he was returning messages. We just missed each other's calls. Now, he makes no effort to return my calls. If you contract with this company, absolutely under no circumstances should you pay them until all aspects of the work are done to your complete and total satisfaction. Here is a description of the work they did in my home.They repaired two water damaged ceilings by applying stainblock and repainting the ceilings. That work was perfomed well. On one of the ceilings they first applied the stainblock to just the area of the stain and repainted the ceiling. The stainblock had been applied only to the line of water damage. After the paint dried the stainblock showed through. I was very satisfied that they corrected that by re-applying the stainblock to the stained area and the whole ceiling and repainting. The ceiling looks great now. The hole in another wall was repared satisfactorily. I replaced the wallpaper on that myself. The most work they performed was on a bathroom ceiling, and that is where I encountered subsequent problems. The water damage there could not be covered by stainblock and the drywall had to be replaced. After Murray replaced the drywall they re-mudded just that area of the ceiling. It is a textured ceiling and the pattern was totally different from the rest of the ceiling when they finished. It just didn't look good, so I asked them to re-texture the whole ceiling so it would match. They did. Now. let me say that I am quite satisfied with the work on the ceilings in the other two rooms and on the hole. However, I am less than satisfied with the work in the other bathroom. They have been quite unprofessional in dealing with me on trying to resolve several issues in regard to the work in that bathroom. Upon completing the mud work on the textured ceiling, the drywaller pointed out many rough areas where the wall and ceiling meet and told me those would be smoothed out. That was in March 2012 when the work was done. Those edges haven't been smoothed as of today, June 9, 2012. Also, they left the ceiling light fixture out and the vent cover out. I reinstalled the light fixture. That was simple. I had great difficulty reinstalling the vent cover. It was extremely difficult to get it in. It was so hard to get it to fit in place. Now that it is in, but it doesn't fit flush with the ceiling because there is nothing for the screw to go into on one side. The drywall board doesn't go to the edge of the metal vent. So, the screw fits in between the metal duct and the edge of the drywall. The screw has nothing to hold in to on that side and the vent isn't flat on the ceiling. It looks bad and I am concerned that the vent is not securely in place and may fall. Prior to the work, that vent was flush with the ceiling. I had left repeated messages with David requesting that he send someone out to put that vent back. I even left a message telling him I had tried to get it back in, but couldn't. I finally got fed up and, with great difficulty, did it myself today. David will not return my calls. I have left numerous messages for him over the past two months. I paid for the job in full in April. I am very disappointed with his lack of professionalism. He seemed to be a really upstanding, decent man of his word. That's why I went ahead and paid the bill in full. That was my mistake. I do wonder if I had an outstanding balance would he come and complete the work as he said he would. He simply will not return my calls. I only wanted those rough edges smoothed out, the vent and light fixture replaced and to schedule some additional painting. I had also gotten a quote from Murray in April about repainting that bathroom. In the course of working tin the bathroom Murray Drywall company knocked a small hole in the wall with their scaffold. They repaired the hole and were going to try to match the paint color and paint only the one wall. Instead, I asked David to qive me a quote on repainting the whole room. He did that right away in April. I've been unable to schedule that job because he won't return my calls. I will contract with someone else to do the painting. Today, with great difficulty, I managed to get the vent replaced. In doing that I got a closer look at the work on the ceiling. Upon close inspection, I see that it is not excellent quality. There are gaps. I want to say this about Murray Drywall. If you choose to have them work in your home, be prepared to be very, very patient. They will eventually get around to you. It took months for me to get the work scheduled in the first place. Also, be sure you are totally satisfied with the work, and that all aspects of the job are done, before paying them. I would recommend withholding part of the payment.
