A pleasure to work with! Extremely responsive, professional, and service oriented. The initial evaluation was thorough and Micah took his time investigating the situation. They cleaned up after the work and followed up a week later to make sure we were still happy.

They rescheduled on me twice...were an hour late, but he was very nice. He explained everything really well and told us he would give us a quote on replacing our cap. It's been 5 weeks and no quote.

Great, he explained everything to me about the inspection. In the past I went to a discounted sweeper and I was told that I had thousands of dollars worth of work to be done , and I dont need anything. I trust their assessment ,due to his knowledge about chimneys. He explained differant types of wood that are best to use and more.

Micah is great--extremely knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to explain, communicate, and educate. He even helped diagnose a separate issue involving a water heater and took the time to call back (even once the chimney work was done!) to troubleshoot over the phone.

Hearthside preformed quality work at reasonable rate. They exhibited a fine attention to detail and dedication to complete the job on time, even staying late to finish. Micha and his team went above and beyond in completing the re-pointing I had contracted.

Hearthside did an amazing job repairing tuck points on the house and repairing the chimney. Work was completed in a day and looks great. They were even able to match the color of the mortar on a 35 year old house!

The visit couldn't have gone any better. I had recently contacted a competitor of Hearthside to clean and review the chimney. The day they were set to arrive, they gave me a 2 hr window, and no calls when they were arriving. As soon as this company finally arrived and walked in I knew I was in a sales pitch. They tried to pressure me into buying $10,000 worth of fixes on the spot by using scare tactics. The company walked in with no protection against falling ash and left within 30 min after they realized I wasn't in a position to spend$10,000. I then contacted Hearthside for a second opinion. First I was called the day before to confirm appointment, and also contacted when he was on his way to let me know he would be arriving in 20-30 minutes. The person showed up and informed me he would be looking at the roof first as it was getting dark. He spent more time on the roof than the original company did the entire trip. When he came down he explained in great detail the issues and fixes associated. I first realized this was going to be a much better experience when he made sure to put on booties to protect my house from dirt. He also carried a blanket in with him to protect any surrounding floors or furniture. He then proceeded to go into detail what he saw on the inside of the chimney from inside the house. He spent 2 hours explaining what I had, what needed to be done, the history behind some of the design techniques used and the next steps forward. He did not want to give me costs on the spot as he wanted to make sure I wasn't pressured and had time to digest everything he was telling me. The cost for hearthside was more expensive but its the old saying "you get what you pay for". It was nice to have someone so passionate about chimneys that I felt like the extra cash was WELL worth it. I would recommend this company to all my friends and family.

Needing a chimney repair I researched the BBB for reviews and ratings. I found several and I made calls to for estimates. When I made the call to Hearthside Chimney & Masonry, I left my name and number. To my surprise, I received a call back immediately and Micah was at my home within the hour for the inspection. He thoroughly inspected the chimney explained his options for repair. He also showed me samples of the materials he would use for both repairs. Micah explained how he would do the job, the time it would take and the warranties. I was told that the warranty would transfer to the new owner. He left to figure the cost and emailed us the next morning with the bid. During that time, we also had another estimate done. Although the other folks were nice, the level of professionalism went beyond anything we expected from Micah and Hearthside. We weren't looking for the cheapest estimate but for the best job done by the employees and also materials. Micah came when the job was being done, and he was on the roof with the others. He took pictures of the job before the work started and as it was being completed through to the finished product. We couldn't be happier with everything related to this company. Provider failed to make good on promise to evaluate my problem and estimate cost of repair.

More than 20 years ago my wife and I had repointing work (by a different company) performed on the same house. We were pretty ignorant about what is proper repointing work. As a result, we received a poor to fair job. They used the wrong type of mortar, the color didn't match, and it wasn't applied properly. Because of this experience we were anxious to find someone with the right knowledge, skill, and integrity to do the work. Our first contact was with Micah at Hearthside Chimney and Masonry. We were impressed with his web site and felt this was probably the right company. Shortly after meeting with Micah we were positive. He is extremely knowledgeable about his work and we were put at ease after seeing his work. Plus, he is very friendly, willing and able to work around our schedule, and always concerned that we are more than happy with his work. Amazingly, he is prompt, calls to let us know if he will be delayed, and always cleans up totally at the end of the day. He never left us hanging. The work is first rate and we will us Hearthside Chimney and Masonry again. The price for this type work is not cheap but worth it; especially on an historic structure. Had we been able to use Hearthside Chimney and Masonry more than 20 years ago we would not have needed this work now.

Hearthside was fabulous! He arrived exactly when scheduled. He was very professional and courteous. He replaced our chimney cap and swept our chimney. He was extremely particular about the care he took inside and outside our home. No mess at all! It is nice to have the peace of mind to not be concerned about a chimney fire!

It couldn't have been better! I have never worked with a more conscientious contractor in any field! They were informative. They kept us apprised of the status. When they realized we needed trees trimmed they did not change the quote. They did everything promised and more! They found branches in the gutters, they found a nest of bugs they removed them all.

Spent 3.5 hours doing a job that needed a pro to do it right. Looks like we never had any damage to the bricks and mortor.
