After several unsuccessful attempts to find an electrical contractor that had a reasonable rate/schedule, I called Brian Bessler Electric. I noticed he had a rather unflattering review posted here a few years ago, so I was a little leary of contacting him. I described what I needed (install 220 circuit from garage to basement). He gave me a quote of $350 over the phone, and said he could start at 8:30 the next day, so I hired him. He arrived at 8:20, began work, and finished up within 2 hours. He even reduced his fee from $350 to $300, since he said it was an easier job than he anticipated. I would definitely use him again.

I always felt like Mr. Bessler was in a hurry when I would talk to him. Maybe that's why it took him (3) trips to do the work (that what his invoice says). I was a little overwhelmed when I received his invoice - - during my inital conversation with Mr. Bessler, he estimated the total bill would be somewhere between $400 & $500. (that was to included the inspector's certification). His final invoice was for $994.89. Along with his bill, he included the inspector's certification, which was put in my sister's name (who is not the property owner). It took several phone calls and unresponded voice mails and finally a phone call to the inspection company before I had a response. Oddly enough, about the time I received a response from Mr. Bessler, I had a contract on the house to sell it. Of course, the buyer had a home inspection performed. The inspector found "double taps." My real estate agent told the buyer's agent that was impossible since all of the electrical issues were taken care of. The inspector was adamant about his findings. The buyer's agent took the liberty of contracting another electrician to inspect for "double taps" - again, the report came back that the double taps existed. Since my sister recommended Mr. Bessler, I had her call him concerning his work being questioned by two electricians. He told her it was complete and that we could either pay him bill or he would put a lien on the property. What an unprofessional way to substaniate his work. As I said, we have a contract on the house, and the last thing I need is to have the sale held up in the courts over this issue. In summary, because most of us are not electricians and wouldn't know a double tap from single tap - - my recommendation would be check out Angie's List for an electrician that has been given positive feedback - - it's not Bessler Electric.
Description of Work: After having a home inspection of property that we were going to put up for sale to settle an estate, there were some electrical issues that the home inspector pointed out which needed corrected/updated. We called Bessler Electric to replace some receptacles, install a couple of junction boxes, and make corrections to "double taps". During our meeting Mr. Bessler said he would also have the electrical inspector perform an inspection and issue a certificate of compliance.
