Roofing, Insulation, Gutters,

About us

FREE Written Estimates! No Money Down Contractor! Celebrating 16 years in business! A New Rooftime began in 1996, when Ricky and Sandy Feltner started a small family business that they operated out of their home. By 1999, Ricky's company (Preferred Roofing), had grown large enough to include his son, daughter, son-in-law, along with some terrific work crews. Together the company earned a ranking in R.S.I. magazine's Top 100 Contractors in America (Oct 1998) Ricky passed away at the end of 1999, and the company struggled to carry on without his dynamic leadership. Today Ricky's legacy has been preserved by no less than five roofing contractors that were once part of his vision, all successfully operating their own companies using the same principles and ideals he established over 15 years ago! At Rooftime, Sandy's daughter Missy still answers the phone (even at nights and on the weekends) and Ricky's grandson Justin is now an Owens Corning certified Roofing and Insulation Inspector! A New Rooftime is a true family owned and operated business with deep community roots; over fifteen year's business experience, and is now into their third generation of serving Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. A New Rooftime has been certified by Owens Corning as a "TOP OF THE HOUSE" professional. The company attends annual training certifications to keep current with VENTILATION, INSULATION, RADIATION and how they affect roofing shingles and property values. A New Rooftime exclusively sells and installs the Owens Corning line of roofing and insulation products. In addition to being experts at roof repairs, new roof installations and attic insulation, their other services include professional SKYLIGHT repair and installation using the VELUX brand, as well as chimney repairs and Box gutter repairs. Estimates are free and include an attic inspection & color digital pictures of what the estimators find. A New Rooftime utilizes all the best of today's technology such as thermal imaging cameras to pinpoint hidden leaks and decay, and satellite measurement software to offer 'to the inch measurements" for "to the penny pricing'. Visit www.time2roof.com or call Miss Mona at 513.753.TIME (8463) to get a free inspection of your roof, attic insulation, skylight, and chimney or gutter system.

First let me say Miss Mona is ON IT! She provides amazing service as the first point of contact with the company. She earns an "A" grade on all counts. The inspector came as expected. He communicated with us that the damage was minor, and that the charge would possibly be less than our insurance deductible. But, when we received the estimate from him via e-mail, it was for a total roof replacement. I was momentarily stunned but figured that I had received another customer's estimate inadvertently. I replied to the inspector's email questioning it, but didn't hear back. I contacted Miss Mona who responded to me immediately and was able to get the inspector to call me. The message I received from him was pleasant enough but said something to the effect of "If you want just the repairs done and not a new roof, I guess that's ok". So in summary, we knew we only needed minor repairs, were quoted for an entire replacement, were held up when we questioned, and felt we were sort of dismissed as potential clients for only wanting a small job done.
Description of Work: We had a significant hail storm and needed some minor repairs done. We have a newer roof and knew it did not need to be replaced.

The first week of December 2015, my roof was replaced by A New Rooftime. They were very pleasant, prompt, and seemed to do a nice job...until the first hard rain. It was then we discovered several issues. 1). water was pouring thru my kitchen lights 2). my gutter guards on one of the back gutters were missing and 3). the first floor front gutter was knocked lose and sloping towards the house (dumping water on my home/foundation). The company sent someone out and fixed the issue causing water to come into the kitchen. They acknowledged the missing gutter guards and said they'd replace them. They have not replaced the gutter guards. I've followed up 5 times with no resolution. The company denied they caused the gutter to slope and after months of going back and forth with no resolution, I had 3 contractors out to look at fixing it as my basement was at risk to flood (and it's finished). 2 contractors refused siting it was knocked loose during my roof replacement, it happens all the time and the roofers should fix it. The 3rd contractor fixed it but told us the gutter was not cleaned out. It should have been as the contract with A New Rooftime said they would clean all the gutters before they left the job because of the debris that falls in them. This weekend, I noticed water dumping in another spot in the back. In cleaning the gutter, it was full, literally full of roofing shingles, nails, etc. from the job. Because they didn't clean it out properly as the contract dictated, water stood at the corner and has completed eroded the corner of the shingle. We also have shingles lifting around the fireplace (and they shouldn't be). I have no idea if the second story gutters were clean and if they put our gutter guards on or pitched them too. I have no idea if the roof was done right given all the issues we have. I have left several phone and written messages for them over the last 5-days. The company will not respond to my phone calls.

Response from A New Rooftime
This business was forced to shut down after the sudden and unexpected passing of it's principal partner. The last day f operation was in March 2016. Every proper step was followed including notifying the BBB and Angies List about the closure. The contract for this roof states a 2 year labor warranty, the roof was installed 2012. Also the contract clearly states that bad wood was extra, over and above roof quote, as needed. This is standard boilerplate contract language. In 2012, there was no worry over the wood condition and in fact the roof performed for years after with no issues. Damage in 2016 can be traced back to a huge variety of factors, none of which would relate to the contractor. The owner is deceased and the business is closed.

The company took all of the proper steps to notify both Angie's List as well as the BBB, that due to the unexpected passing of the owner, they were forced to shut down the business. When the business operated, a free bid was provided at their discretion, so complaining that they did not come to give you a bid seems petty by anyone's measure. Corporate Attorney response

Once the company got us scheduled by email, the crew arrived at 8 AM the following morning. The 4 man crew seemed to be very knowledgable and worked well together. The company owner, Dale Shoemaker, was extremely knowledgable and explained, in detail, the answers to all our questions and concerns. The entire process took approx. 7 hrs. to complete. The company also sealed a leaking area on the roof which affected our covered deck. This job, along with installing a downspout to the gutter of our detached garage, was completed without charge. Can't beat that!!!! Everything was completed to our satisfaction as Dale, whom I consider a truly honest man, had promised. Upon completion, the crew's cleanup was excellent and the yard was left the way it was found. Thanks Dale, Greg, and crew for a wonderful experience. Bob Grundhoefer
Description of Work: Replaced gutters with 6" gutters with leaf protection screening. Also had a rain barrel installed to one of the downspouts. Company sealed a section of roof that had previously been leaking onto the covered patio. Company also installed an additional downspout to the gutter of our detached garage.

It was good. The day they scheduled the appointment, they kept it. They were pretty busy but they made an appointment with me and they kept it right on time. They only did a half a roof and then I had to pay like...more than that but it was clean. They did their job. I guess I paid the $100...I don't know where that went to but the rest of it, they were supposed to pick up the letter for whatever so it was done and I am satisfied. I moved on. It is the first time I had anything that had to be done. That is the first time anybody cleaned up my roof since it was put on. They did the best they could. They were here on time. The next time I am going to have to put on a whole new roof so I am trying to save up for that.

What I signed up for was a gutter cleaning. The gentleman did come yesterday. I'm disappointed in the service because he didn't bring a bucket. All he did was, threw all the debris out of the gutter on to the ground, right underneath the gutter. I was hopeful that he bought a bucket. My yard is a mess now because of him just cleaning out the gutter onto my lawn. So, I'm disappointed. The price was right. I wouldn't hire them again. He surprised me when he arrived. He said, "The price that you got this job from Angie's List was not for your size house."

It did not go very well. I don't think they went up my roof at all. They treated it as an inspection. It was a terrible deal. They just said "Hey, you have some damage here." They did the inspection and left. It was totally not worth it. They were there for 15 minutes. I called them up and said they just gave me a drop-off in terms of what I should do as for an evaluation. I told them to knock on the door and tell me what it was going to be but they didn't do that. I'm very dissatisfied with the company. It was a total waste of money. They were on time.

Appears to me to be a bait and switch. Get you interested with a low price, but there are upcharges. Upcharge for 2nd story. Upcharge for roof pitch. So what seemed like a great deal turns out it would have cost me 4 times the amount. I realize that I just $49, but now I'm smarter. If it seems to good to be true, READ THE DETAILS!!!
Description of Work: Nothing, purchased the $49 deal. Before they came out they informed me it would be another $150. It was in the details. READ THE DETAILS!!! Reason that I didn't rate them an 'F' was it was partially my fault.

I live in a 2 story home - no other way to describe it. Dale came to clean the gutters (after being a no-show on the first date), I told him I may be busy when he finsihed, but my wife would be available. He did the front of the house (and did a nice job on that part) - but he never finished the back of the house! Didn't say a word to my wife or me when he left - just left the job unfinished. He put pics on Angie's List site - and said he should have put an additional $150 charge for my 3 story house and the pitch. When I called him - he gave every excuse possible - it's Angie's List job, not mine - they set the details, you had a lot of roofing debris on your roof (true, but so what). Bottom line - they did a half-a** job and an incomplete job. No way I'd have these guys on my property again. c
Description of Work: Ad specified they would clean my gutters for $99 Fine print did show there would be an additional charge for a 3 story house, and for a roof with a pitch greater than 10/12

I'm not really sure what to make of this whole transaction. I contacted them via the Angies List message service in October, asking if they did soffit repair, and got a prompt reply with an offer to go to the house to inspect it. They did the inspection and gave me a quote that was somewhat vague about the soffit (just stated "2 locations") and also included a plumbing boot flange. This started quite a bit of back and forth messaging, which at times felt like I was talking to a teenager with an attitude. Maybe whoever it was just isn't a good typer, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But I also wondered why they were on top of the roof when I only asked them to look at the soffit. Again, giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not understanding the locations of any of the repairs, I communicated to them that I would need pictures of before and after, so I could see what was done. I added this in writing at the bottom of the quote, and signed and returned it. They scheduled the job for a Tuesday, but it rained that day so I had no expectation that they would come out then. It rained through Wednesday, so I guessed that they would be out on Friday (the length of time for the rain delay). They did not communicate with me at all during this time, and I was disappointed that they did not come out on Friday. Mind you, there was a check for $300 for them at my front door this entire time, which caused me some concern. I messaged them again because I thought they had bailed on me, and they got a bit snippy. Nice way to treat a customer (NOT!). We got the appointment set up for the next Tuesday - weather permitting. I came home from work on the scheduled day and saw that the check was gone, but there was no note, pictures or other communication from them stating that the job was completed. I was worried that someone had swiped the check. I had to reach out to them again and ask if they had been out to the house, and if they had to please send the pictures. They confirmed that they had completed the job but the guy who did the work was out of town and they did not have pictures. A week later I reminded them that I was still waiting for the pictures, and that I would be submitting my review soon. At that point Dale, who said he is the owner, replied and said that the pictures taken were no good, and this quote: "...it seems you are suggesting that your report would be influenced by a picture, which I do not get. We EXCEL at communication, which member after member have told us, we send trained and insured techs to do the work, and we price ourselves very fairly for the services. We stop leaks and correct issues. We focus on these attributes to build our reports and reputation, not a picture shot on a cell phone..." Had he looked at the previous message exchange he would have seen that they do not excel in communication at all. Had they been better at communicating I would have been much more satisfied. Instead, they left me waiting, guessing and still wondering what I paid for.

I was concerned my 2011 custom built home was missing ridge vents. Dale went onto the 2+ story roof, which is extremely high and has varying, steep pitches. He immediately emailed me pictures (while he was still on the roof!) His roofing knowledge is extremely impressive, yet his true attribute is the passion he has for his work. He proved to be a fair, honest man. He explained in vivid detail how my shingles were properly laid and done so by roofers that took pride in their work. He said there are higher quality (more expensive) ridge vents on the market. He could replace my low profile ridge vent with a more expensive one, but went on to say that he didn't want to just take my money. To sum it up, my ridge vents were installed properly and it would be a waste of money to redo them. Dale is the real deal. I've already scheduled him to look at the roof on my rental property. Thank you A New Rooftime and Angie's List!!

This member is not correct. He purchased a deal for 99. The deal was then offered for 49 by mistake. The member then cancelled the first deal to buy the 49. We called to explain that there would be no 49 offer and that Angies was taking it down and refunding the purchase. The member went ballistic. He began to curse and berate our company. What makes this shocking is we are members of the same church as this members brother who just passed. We were at the family memorial 2 days before this occurred... we do not know this member like we did his brother and sister-in-law and so can only assume that this member is under stress and not really as belligerent and foul mouthed as he came off in our interaction... we let our 500 reports, and our A rating since 2007 stand for itself.

Crew came on date promised. Dale said it was his best crew. I can't imagine what others must be like. While they were working I asked about ridge vent that was on the contract. Crew chief was getting ready to put old box vents back up instead. When I asked about the covers for holes from old box vents, they did not have them. They had to be delivered. Also, as stated in contract, old satellite dish was to be removed and put in yard. Again I went out to check progress, and crew was getting ready to put in back on roof. If I had not been there checking, they would have totally screwed up. Dale made excuse that they don't look at order, and have to be told. When they removed the dish, they threw the old cable back up on the roof. I got a ladder to pull it down after they left, and fortunately discovered that that the gutters were cluttered with nails, plastic from shingle wrapping, old insulation, cigarette butts, and even a socket wrench handle. Two days later, while moving my front grass, I nearly ran over another tool left on the lawn.. Further, when Dale came out to sell me the roof, he made mention of my newly resurfaced driveway, and they would respect it. Well, their leaky truck dripped oil in several places over 2 days, which I then had to scrub, because I could not imagine trusting them to do anything further. Dale is quite a talker and flatterer, but too much of his statements are hollow.
