Will not shop anything that needs installed at Lowes anymore if this company is still handling the installs. Did a terrible job installing the floor and took a month to get them back out to correct it (and told us they would reimburse us for the left over materials from the first install if they used it when redoing the floor - which they did use all of it and no reimbursement yet). Then due to the waiting and issues, we came to an agreement to have them put in new baseboards. Multiple calls asking about the reimbursement of materials and the status of the baseboard have not been returned at all in over another month of waiting. Keep get directed to Lowes and no one locally or at the corporate level know what I'm talking about. CEO of Lowes has been contacted.

This was a horrible experience. I scheduled with this company because they were the sub-contractor for Lowe's, but I regret it. We scheduled the carpet installation for a Friday. The workers showed up on time at 8am, came into our home and immediately said that the house was not ready. In spite of the fact that we paid for furniture moving, the workers said that they only move "big furniture" and would not move end tables, coffee tables, or floor lamps. Furthermore, they did not advise us that all items (DVDs) had to be removed from the TV stand, etc. So we rearranged our weekend plans and rescheduled for Saturday. They once again showed up on time, but complained that we had "a lot of furniture to move." In reality, it was a couch, a chair, a recliner, a dining room table, and a 2 piece china hutch. The installers said that all of the furniture needed to be out of the room for them to work and said that because of the risk of rain, they couldn't put the furniture outside. I wouldn't have allowed my upholstered furniture to be placed in my yard---rain or no rain. As they began to figure out that the furniture could all be shifted into the living room (while they worked in the dining room and vice-versa) they complained that the pet stains and age of the carpet made it too dirty and "unsanitary" for them to remove and they wouldn't haul it away. I suggested that they wear gloves and masks if they were concerned. After a few minutes, they told me that they spoke with their manager and needed to go and get gloves, but promised that they would return and take care of the job. This was a lie. They never returned nor did they take my phone calls or respond to any messages. Three hours after they left, I called the office and spoke with the manager who told me that the workers couldn't complete the job and they were waiting for Lowe's to give them direction on what to do next. They refused to come back to my home. I admit that the carpet is old and did have some pet stains, but it was not so bad that they couldn't complete the work. After spending the day with Lowe's and determining that they reserved the right to refuse the work (in their contract but there was no advisement to the customer of this). I found another contractor here on Angie's List who came out to my house and accepted the job at a significantly lower price. His comment to me was that my carpeting was not the worst he had seen and in his opinion did not constitute a health hazard to the workers. The next stage in the saga was getting my carpet back from the installers. They wanted to bring it to my home but I have no place to store it. I asked for it to be delivered on Saturday (the day the new contractor was coming). At first they said "we don't work on Saturdays." My response to them was the only reason that the carpet was still in their warehouse was that their employees refused to complete the job two days earlier. I finally got them to agree to bring the carpet to my home on Saturday at the same time the contractor would arrive. They requested a space in my garage to leave the carpet, but this is a problem as I have no garage. I told them that their staff would have to bring the carpet into my home. Their reply was that "well it’s a big roll of carpet and there will be only one person to drop it off. Will there be a direct access point to the house?" I informed them they would have to bring it in through the front door. It doesn't make sense to send one person for a delivery of this nature. The carpet arrived when I schedule it, but of course, they forgot to bring the carpet pad. Additional phone calls ensued and the pad was finally delivered. The delivery person said he had a “note” that the installers had left the pad at our home. He just forgot it and didn’t want to admit it. By the way Lowe's did refund the full amount of the installation and gave me a refund for my inconvenience. They are the installer for Lowe's..beware of using them. I found the staff dishonest and unprofessional. Very disappointing. We plan to purchase more flooring, but can tell you that I won't be using this company in the future.

I was very disappointed with the entire process of installation. To start, I was told the installation would start on a Monday, and that the installer would arrive between 8 and 10. At 9:40 I got a call that the installer would not be there that day but would begin the next day. I was also told it would be a 3 day installation. To keep this short, the installer NEVER arrived on time, would show up at or after 11:30, and would leave around 5. This ended up being a 5 day installation, mostly because of this late arrival. He told us he would finish on Friday, and what a surprise, he did not finish. He asked if he could come on Saturday, and we rearranged our schedule. He called on Saturday and asked to come on Sunday. WE WERE NOT PLEASED; we lost the whole weekend. He came on Sunday, and did a poor job; his boss had to come back and fix what he did not do well, completing the job to our satisfaction 2 weeks later. The installer was more concerned with football than doing a good, finished job. He worked well (the living and dining room installation were OK) until he got behind, and then did not. Also, the measurer made several errors, which forced me to return to Lumber Liquidators TWICE to get the correct parts. Although the floor was finally done adequately, it was not a good experience, and I will not be recommending this service in the future.

Essentially, an employee comes to measure, give you a price and assures you they will take care of the installation. What happens is they send out some hillbilly contractors that apparently don't get paid enough to do the job correctly and you never hear from United Installs again except to collect the final payment. They allow smoking and drinking and sleeping at your premises. YOU have to deal with the hillbillies yourself who insist you sign off that the work is complete, but assure you'll they'll come back to fix what is wrong later. I paid a premium for a professional job. If I wanted hillbillies to come and do a half-assed job, I could have paid half! United Installs doesn't give 2 cents whether or not your job is done properly because they never plan on seeing you again. United Installs is the installer for Lowe's and Lumber Liquidators. BEWARE!

Used them for a measure and estimate for a hardwood floor. First guy that came out was rude and pushy. Talked to the manager who apologized and scheduled to come out. Allowing them another chance, will update after this new measure.
