Very unprofessional. Installed my heating and cooling unit 2 years ago. When the unit began to freeze up I called and it took 2 weeks for a technician to come out just to tell me he has to order the parts to fix it. It has been a week and they are unreachable. The weather has been below freezing for over a week and they think it is perfectly fine for us to go without heat. TC heating is a complete joke and it’s a shame I can’t leave 0 stars. They have zero care for their customers

We used our home warranty and were required to use this company. When TC Heating & Cooling called to schedule the appointment, they were rude and hard to understand. The service tech showed up between the allotted appointment time and called from the driveway. They refuse to speak to anyone in person, I assume bc of covid. I told him I would open the garage and I waited for him to come in. He then requested payment via phone and I had to ask 4 times what he was saying. It was absolutely absurd. He then looked around the unit in the garage, went to the ac unit outside and back a few times. Called me while I was sitting literally 10ft away and said yep, nothing wrong. I asked questions about why the unit freezes and he said I don't know, it's not the unit. Um, ok?! Anyway, we had initially hired another company to come out that was not associated to our warranty and they told us exactly what was wrong. So we had a clue. I would have given a better rating despite them saying nothing is wrong had they at least been professional or courteous.

Response from TC HEATING & COOLING
We are a service provider for this customer's home warranty company and were assigned to her work order. I spoke with her on the phone and found out that she had fallen prey to one of the local high pressure sales "service" companies who told her she needed a very expensive replacement. I told her that her home warranty company required a diagnosis from an authorized service provider and that given the described symptoms and her provider's reputation it was highly likely that a minor repair or less would be all that would be needed. I thoroughly explained our Covid policy stating that our technician would call her from the driveway to get instructions from her as to what door to use and how to locate the thermostat and the furnace. I further explained that this was to avoid any kind of face to face contact and that my techs would be wearing masks and use sanitized wipes for anything they touch. I also explained that during my technician's phone call he would be collecting credit card info for payment of the service fee. My technicians followed procedure exactly. We very much prefer a more personal service experience but current conditions prohibit that.

With temperatures hovering at 0 to -5 degrees, our house kept getting colder and colder. Though we had the thermostat set to 68 degrees, it was registering 52! We called our Home Warranty Company and they set an appointment with T C Heating and Cooling for the next morning. Not wanting to spend another day freezing inside our house, I called Tom Casson and left a message, asking if he could possibly come sooner. He called back not long after, to say he could be here within the hour. He told me to try switching to emergency heat in the meantime. He arrived promptly, one hour later! Turns out, we had two of our four breakers, not working. He did his work in less than a half hour, and we now have heat! We only had to pay the cost of the deductible, through our home warranty service, so I don't know what the price may have been without it.

They skipped out on our appointment without so much as a phone call, then they wouldn't answer their phone till 430 pm. When they finally answered, the guy on the phone had an attitude. I told him if they can't make it today, we have someone coming tomorrow and he said "ok good" and hung up.

Description of Work: Called about my AC not working. They said it was out of freon, filled and left. When I asked if there was a leak he said no. A week later I called back bc it was hot again. When he came this time he said there was a leak on the inside. Um, but not last week? After the new ac parts were installed a week later, the problem continued so I called back the next morning. Suddenly the freon from 12 hrs ago was gone, and outside was broken and had a leak ... It seemed like they stopped looking as soon as they found a single problem, rather than a full inspection. Thus, my ac repairs took a month vs 3 days ... Very nice men though

We were having an issue with a motor on our furnace. We purchased a home warranty when we bought our home. When we called the warranty company, they directed us to TC. TC called within a few hours of my initial contact and had someone out the next morning. He looked at the part, confirmed it needed to be replaced, left to pick it up and returned a short time later to install it. Total time from initial inspection to job completion was under 90 minutes. I understand they don't want to spend a lot of time discussing things about the furnace, etc due to their payment coming from the warranty company but their work was fast and saved me about $600 by not having someone else do it. This appears to be a smaller company but would consider them for future repair work.

I think that they have been really good, I have not had any complaints and have worked great. Overall they have done an excellent job and were polite to my wife.

We were away in Gatlinburg on vacation when my 86 year old mother who lives with us called to say the heat would not come on. This was when the temperatures dipped into the low 30's suddenly. I called Total Protect, my home warranty service provider and they called Mr. Casson for me, who then called me immediately on my cell phone. He came right out. My son-in-law met him at the house. He found the problem and was finished within the hour. This was all after 4:00 PM. When the warranty company gave me his name and number, I looked him up on Angie's list (I never travel without my laptop), and found he had an all A rating. I felt safe sending him to my house when I wasn't there because of this. My son-in-law said he was very friendly and professional.
Description of Work: Mr. Casson replaced a transformer in our furnace. I only paid $60 because that is the amount of my deductible. I don't know what the actual cost was.

Excellent. Tom would always return calls promptly. He addressed all of the issues raised by the house inspector so we could close on the house.

Tom has been our heating and cooling guy ever since we first became homeowners. He is completely trustworthy and knowledgeable. He has replaced a previous furnace and maintained our furnace and air conditioner. When we have had minor problems, he has diagnosed them over the phone and even told us how to fix them to avoid a house call. He does a check-up on our unit annually at a very reasonable price.
