+ -1 moreWork took three weeks of steady labor instead of the one they thought it would take. However, they charged only the estimated price and did a fine job for us. They even added a nice door-width drain where our exterior door leads inside. Apparently our old house had rebar in the floors and it was tough to get through it to the soil underneath. If you take this on, dust will settle everywhere even if, as they did, you staple up plastic sheets to try and prevent dust from moving around and covering the things you stacked in the middle.
Description of Work: The poured-concrete walls and floor in our basement would show water in rain storms for decades. They came and said that the wall leaks were common and that the floor was because of water pressure buildup when ground became saturated. The estimate was to jackhammer trenches around the exterior walls and avoid damaging the original footers. Then a drain system was laid in, leading to a sump pump. Finally, plastic sheeting was fastened to the walls before the trenches were filled back with gravel and concrete. This makes any future wall leaks go down into the new trench system.
