Description of Work: The company was hired to do a plumbing job and to repair a textured ceiling damaged by water. There were several problems with this job. First, the company could not match the ceiling texture(basic crows foot). The technician sent to do the job did not even know what tools to use to repair the ceiling. I had to tell him to use a stipple brush and show him a you tube video on how to do a crows foot ceiling. I even had to purchase the stipple brush at Home Depot. When he applied the drywall the pattern looked nothing like the original. I ended up completing the job rather than let the technician continue. Second, the plumber was able to change valves and faucets on my shower and whirlpool tub but when installing the faucet he did not read instructions about cutting the pipe and cracked the whirlpool in three places trying to force the faucet on a pipe that was too long. When I complained to the franchise owner he promised to have the tub professionally repaired. The owner bought a repair kit and came by my house to make the tub repair himself. Once he finished the repair, the spot where the cracks were did not match the original tub. When trying to repair the tub cracks, the owner took the faucet off and when he replaced it he put the o-ring on upside down, which caused a leak in my kitchen ceiling below. He came back the next day to fix the problem he had caused with the faucet but did not offer to repair the discoloration the leak caused in the kitchen ceiling. I ended up redoing the attempted repair of the tub crack and was able to match the tub color better than the franchise owner, although a close look will still show where the repair was made on the tub. I still have not had the kitchen ceiling repaired. Third, when the bill came, House Doctors of Hardin County tried to charge me several hundred dollars more than the original estimate because the original technician had underestimated the time required to do the job by about ten hours. The technicians who came spent several hours talking on the phone. One technician spent an entire afternoon talking on the phone with his daughter who was having marital difficulties. Rather than charging me several hundred dollars more than the original estimate, House Doctors should have lowered the bill by several hundred dollars, considering the damage they did to my house and the fact that they could not match the ceiling texture. Fourth, the plumber had me go to Lowe's and buy a frost free outside faucet that he was going to install. I purchased the faucet on Sunday evening, getting a 3/4 inch pipe. The technician wanted me to return the faucet to Lowe's and go with him to Home Depot to buy one. The faucet the technician had me buy was the same size exactly as the one I previously bought at Lowe's. Fifth, the technician also had picked out several copper elbow fittings and had me buy them for use in the bathroom shower and whirlpool. I had to return the fittings because the plumber chose the wrong size. Sixth, the plumber suggested that a plastic door be installed so that the shower pipes could be accessed in the future without cutting through drywall. I purchased the door on the trip the plumber and I made to Home Depot. When it came time to install the door, the technician did not have construction adhesive on his truck to glue the door in place as the installation instructions required. I ended up going to Home Depot and buying construction adhesive and installing the door myself. I cannot recommend this company as the workers do not know what they are doing. The plumbers also tryes to talk customers into doing more work than needed so House Doctors can up the bill. For example, he suggested that we install cut off valves on each of the pipes going to the shower and whirlpool. We did that and I suppose that is why House Doctors tried to charge me $1595.00 rather than the original $1195.00 in the estimate. Stay away from this company when doing hone repairs.
