+ -1 moreVery professional. I really do not know the going rate for this type service, but they were local, they picked up and dropped off the mower, because I do not have a truck. There was a bit of confusion towards the end, as there were two work orders open for the same mower and was trying to process a second time after I had already paid for the service and was waiting for delivery. They had to call me back after they eventually figured it out and got it fixed. Regardless, I will use them again.

+ -1 moreAfter a pick up was scheduled, Beards loosened the nuts and returned the mower. They also called and advised that there would be no charge. So they did stand behind their work. That's why they have such a good reputation!
Description of Work: Had my ZTR mower taken in for normal service over the winter. In the spring I attempted to remove the blades for sharpening and could not get the nuts loose using an impact gun/wrench or 3' pry bar. They had been overtightened during service. I contacted Beards and the service shop advised that they do not use a torque wrench/manufacturer's specifications to tighten blades, they just tighten them down with their impact gun/wrench. I advised that they had gotten mine so tight I could not perform normal maintenance to sharpen the blades (couldn't get them off). This repair service required them to come with a trailer and pick my mower up.

+ -1 moreI have to take my mower to them; they do not come to me. My mower ran great after they did it; I was happy with it. They do a nice job; they usually do not replace the carburetor but they did it for about $18 and it runs like new. The carburetor replacement is not part of the routine tune-up; they charge extra for it.
Description of Work: I use Beards Outdoor Power Equip for a tune-up of my lawn mower from time to time. The last time that I went there they sharpened the blade, changed the filter, and replaced the carburetor.

+ -1 moreI researched how much the Honda Portable generator I wanted would cost delivered direct from an internet distributer, then went to Beard's Outdoor Equipment. The cost was higher for the same unit, but after some discussion with the manager, we worked out a price that was much closer to the "drop in a Box" price. I considered it a good value given the set up and delivery (ready to go) involved. I was given a personal lesson on it's operation both in the store and upon delivery.
Description of Work: I purchased an EB6500W Honda Portable generator.
