My computer's boot-time diagnostics gave indications of impending hard drive failure for a couple of days, so I took it to SilverLeaf for repair. Joe gave me a quote for the repair and discussed the option of cloning the old drive or simply copying my data to the new one. He replaced the drive with a new, larger one and cloned the old drive to the new one, thus saving me from having to reinstall all of my programs (the old drive actually finally failed during these operations). He called me to come pick up the computer and attempted to boot it up to show me that it was working, when we found that the power supply also had failed. I was naturally dismayed at this, although the computer was five years old and stayed on essentially continuously. Joe replaced the power supply and charged me for the part but not the labor. The entire set of repairs was done expeditiously and professionally. Joe was clear in discussing options with me and I felt that he treated me more than fairly in his handling of the power supply.

We were extremely pleased! He submitted for the warranty replacement for a hard drive that he did not install and managed to get it in from the manufacturer and complete all the work in about 4 days. We were worried our data would be lost but he managed to save everything. In addition, he went above and beyond by completely setting up the new computer, right down to our specialty programs, browser settings, iTunes, everything! It did not seem like there had been any change (except that now it worked). He also cleaned the computer, which was a mess from our recent move with a toddler. He called me early on a Saturday morning to let me know it was ready and left a message. We got there about 30 minutes after he closed, but he was driving by on his way out, saw us, stopped and opened up again to get our computer for us. We have had a significant amount of work done on this machine in the past 18 months at computer shops in other states and were impressed with his explanations, professionalism, thoroughness and reasonable price. This was our second time there (the previous time was for a completely different issue) and will definitely use his services again.
