Everything went great. After 3 months, I have no damage to report - none of my stuff, walls, nothing! They picked up everything at our storage facility and then everything from my mother's apartment, which was on the 3rd floor of a high-rise that had only 1 working elevator that day. They moved it all into her new condo (which was freshly painted) and even moved a refrigerator from the top floor of the condo to the basement for us. I have no complaints and I should mention, this is the 3rd time I've used D&D for moving and storage. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Packed and moved all items from apartment and storage facility into condo.

They were on time. They were quick and took only a short lunch break. I have an antique hope chest, one of the legs broke in the moving process. They took the chest, fixed it and delivered it back with no extra charge. David the owner and his crew were very nice to work with.
Description of Work: They had three men working and it took them about 7 hours. They charge about a $120 an hour and the trip charge was $62.50. I moved from a 3,400 square foot house into a condo. I had everything pretty well packed up, they covered up a few pieces of furniture for me for moving purposes and loaded everything into the truck.

I contract with them directly. I had a model room set up for people to look at, and the person that wanted to move wanted my model with the furniture. Then I had to have the furniture moved pretty quickly, so just I had to call them and say I needed to move model to the new apartment, and they came and did it. They did it reasonably and quick. If my tenant came and said if I recommended somebody for moving, I would recommend this company.
Description of Work: I used D and D Moving for moving a model.

BEWARE!! Two men arrived on the job and they did not work efficiently at all. There was a lot of standing still, talking to one another, walking around aimlessly looking for the other coworker. When my mother said "good morning" to one of the men he replied by grunting at her. I supplied lunch and water to both men and I found the empty water bottles thrown on the yard of the house to which we moved. I also found an empty cigarette box on the driveway which they threw down as well right before they left. We definitely felt taken advantage of and when I spoke to the owner he made no apologies for any of his worker's behavior and actually stuck up for his men. The job took much longer than it should have thus we feel we were very much over charged. They made us sign a "pre-approval" form ahead of time which was not a part of the verbal contract. I would never recommend such a moving company. We even had friends come to help because it was taking so long and even they commented on how lazy these men were. At $85 an hour for 2 men they should have moved quickly and consistently. Do yourself a favor and hire anyone else other than D & D Moving.
Description of Work: Hired to move large furniture only (beds, sofas, desks, dining room table/chairs etc).

Response from D&D Storage & Moving
customer was upset that we would not allow them on the truck. They wanted to help unload. Insurance does not cover them. If they would have gotten hurt or damaged something there would have been an issue with the insurance. She was looking for a price reduction. We only charge for the time we are with you.We moved 7 rooms in a 7 hr period. That is not an unreasonable time. We do a preauthorization on creditcard. That tells us the funds were available.
