This is a great company to work with - two generations of experience plus a very professional crew. I discussed my kitchen remodel that evolved over a few months with Mike Sizemore and he gave me great suggestions to improve organization and aesthetics. He also gave suggestions of what I could add or take away to stay within my budget and he didn't go over it. The best thing was that during this process, Mike was always super responsive, emailing me or calling me back within a day or two, sending me new drawings when I wanted changes, up through to when the cabinets were being built. I have had so many experiences quite the opposite, it gave me confidence in the professionalism. The price was about the same as purchasing cabinets through a cabinet store, but these were made to specifications, with plywood box and maple face and drawer boxes. They spray painted the cabinets with a beautiful sheen and made a custom maple island top exactly the size I wanted. It's a great work space for all kinds of projects. I'm so happy with my kitchen and just want to thank Mike, his dad and his crew for making it possible. I highly recommend this company.

I went to S.K.W.P. based on internet reviews and word of mouth recommendations. We made an appointment to visit their office and choose cabinets. There is only one person who handles this job and his name is Mike. We visited the office and chose the standard white glossy cabinets, door pulls, and counter tops. We chose soft-close drawers, a small cabinet for the baking sheets, and lazy susans in the corners. We put half of the cost down as a deposit. Very soon Mike came to our home to determine the best use of space in our kitchen. Props to him for being an excellent planner/designer. A few weeks later, as scheduled, SKWP came to install the cabinets. They were lovely! Just what I wanted. Bright, white, and glossy. Beautiful! In Less than a year, I started noticing that my white cabinets were yellowing and the caulk around the crown molding they installed had cracked and yellowed. After a call to Mike, he came to inspect the cabinets. At first, he admitted that he had doubted what I was saying. Once he looked on the inside of the doors and saw the yellow streaks, he confessed that I was right. Mike blamed the paint or the hardener. He said this would have to be a complete overhaul. Several weeks went by with no word from him, and at my insistence (nagging) my husband called him. A crew came and took out every single cabinet, the counter top, and the crown molding, leaving us without a kitchen. We lived out of totes for a month. I would like to note here that when the crew removed the crown molding, the yellowing was worse UNDER the molding than the doors and cabinets were, proving that this was nothing that we, as homeowners, had done wrong. I was not home when the cabinets came back and were installed. When I saw them, my first reaction was "Where are my glossy cabinets?" These cabinets were flat white. Husband was dumbfounded. We went straight to the office, where Mike was MIA as usual, and spoke to another employee. He said Mike would make it right, but he never did. Upon further inspection, the crew half-assed the reinstallation and I have pictures! 1) The cabinet in which the refrigerator slide was installed so tightly that it warped. 2) The cabinets were not lined up evenly before the crown molding was put on, so there are permanent and ugly gaps. 3) The "finished" cabinet above the sink was installed using gigantic screws that were not counter sunk, nor spaced evenly. so now every time I stand at the kitchen sink below the window, all I see are 3 ugly screws on the right side hanging out and 2 on the left. This area should have been completed with finishing nails. 4) One of the cabinets was damaged either in the removal, the refinishing, or the reinstallation. Installer put plain white wood putty on the area and left it, leaving an awful smear on the cabinet face. I took pictures of all these issues and planned to present them to Mike when I could catch him in the office again, which never happened. Finally, my husband got in touch with him via telephone and expressed our displeasure. Mike said that he had already claimed the refinishing on his insurance and there was nothing else he could or would do. And that was that. My husband has since attempted to fix the warped cabinet wall by the fridge and countersink the screws above the sink. But nothing can fix the gaps in the cabinets or the holes after counter sinking the screws (they are too large and wood putty would just look worse) or the huge gash in the cabinet face that's filled with wood putty. I'm so disappointed. This was my very first home and my dream kitchen being so messed up made me want to sell it.
