Description of Work: Unit he installed, and replaced previously, failed again. He told us that we needed to put up the money for the replacement part - which was under warranty - because that was the way the company from whom he got the units worked. We would get re-imbursed once the old unit was returned. Seemed odd, but we were under a time constraint, so we gave him the money. He installed a new unit and disappeared. We learned that the supplier never requires a customer to front the money and the only reason that he would have us pay it was because he couldn't get credit with the supplier anymore. They all shook their heads when they heard it was Gibbons. Apparently he has done this many times. He wouldnt return calls and we also learned that since the unit was removed the warranty was voided. We were out $1500 to replace a warranteed unit. The man is unscrupulous, total rip-off. Avoid at all costs.

+ -1 moreThis con artist ripped off my pitiful, elderly mother. She called him to get an estimate on installing a new furnace which he told her he had to have a $5000. up front payment on. She trustingly gave him the money. He never came back and would not refund her "deposit". We sued him and got a judgement for the full amount but he paid only $1,500. and skipped on the rest. It takes a real low-down person to take advantage of the elderly. I feel certain that someday he will be "rewarded" for his sorry behavior but that's little comfort for me. After all this time I'm still fuming at the way he hurt my impaired 83 year old mother.
Description of Work: NO services rendered although they were partially paid for in advance.
