Ed did a great job and I would definitely use him again.
Description of Work: Poured and finished approximately 3 yards of concrete in my basement. Brought in a pumper truck so as not to crack my driveway with a concrete mixer. Worked very hard and long day until the job was completed and cleaned up afterwards.

I am thrilled! Ed Mills and Nathan arrived early every morning, worked all day - with only a short lunch break - until the job was complete. They did an incredible job. My wall is sturdy and better than I imagined it to be. My timber and gravel steps are perfect and just what I needed. They were quiet, professional, friendly and obviously take great pride in their work. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and already have more projects in mind for them when I get my tax refund next Spring!
Description of Work: I needed a retaining wall and a staircase down my steep backyard hill.

Having some design experience, I had already devised the planned layout of the new driveway. Three bids received and EJM selected (although it was not the lowest bid). The owner of EJM, Ed Mills, bid the job, prepared the site, and was the lead on the pour and finishing the concrete. When he came out for the bid, Ed made several small suggestions to the plan which made a BIG difference in the finished job. It took about 10 days to receive the EJM bid. One of my concerns was drainage and potential puddle spots near the front door. The plan was to drain runoff to 3 areas (2 drains and the existing driveway). It all works perfectly-- not puddle or slow-draining spot anywhere. They did a broom finish on the whole thing that is consistent throughout. They installed (at no charge) conduit under two sections of driveway to accommodate dog fence wires. They went above and beyond when it came to repairing the lawn--they used their equipment to grade, seed, and straw an area that was not part of the agreement. Most importantly, the quality of the work is excellent. So many contractors are moving so fast to the next job that you can hardly remember them. Ed Mills is a craftsman who takes pride in his work.
Description of Work: Removed two existing sidewalks in front yard and installed a large semi-circular driveway, front porch, steps, and drain system to shed water away from the house. When finished they graded and seeded disturbed lawn areas.
