Description of Work: Dugan did a few projects at our house in two days time. Extended parking on our driveway, added a side walk and step to our rear door, and also extended our patio. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the results. He was able to schedule us in pretty quickly.

Description of Work: Replaced a complete 4-slab concrete patio that had shifted over time. Slabjacker recommended replacing the slabs since he could not guarantee a good "fit-up result" on his end. Tom Dugan came out for a prompt estimate for replacing the entire deck (including extending it in one direction to increase the patio useable area by ~25%). Job was completed in a couple of days and looks great. Would recommend Tom and his crew to anybody that needs to have quality concrete repair/replacement work done.

Dugan promptly came to examine job and gave us a written estimate within a couple of days. (Others we called were slow to respond). Dugan set a start date for the work and was there when promised. Extra reinforcement of the floor was included In the price Workers were good about cleaning up when the job was done. We were satisfied withe the product and service provided.

Tom and his crew are very professional and hard-working. Tom was quick to call me back and gave me a rough estimate over the phone before coming out to look at the job. He came out to actually look at it within two days. Had us on the schedule within a week after accepting his bid. My husband wanted a few extras things done and Tom was happy to do this. The neighbor next door was so impressed he hired Tom to do his driveway. Tom's prices are also very reasonable.

Mr. Dugan came over for an estimate on a Saturday morning taking the time to show us several options. He provided us with an estimate on the following Monday for two possible options. Once we decided to go with him he was ready to start the following week. The old deck was torn out on a Tuesday afternoon. The area was prepped the following day and the new concrete was poured on Thursday. On Friday afternoon the team came back for the final wash and seal on Friday afternoon working until about 7:30 to get the job completed. Everything was completed thoroughly and with meticulous detail. We're very happy with the work done and we're excited to be able to use such a nice outdoor space!

We decided upon Tom Dugan Concrete after much comparing and research on which way to proceed. We considered a deck partially supported by our existing porch. We considered removing the porch and replacing it with a deck; Also we considered mud jacking the existing concrete porch--this turned out unfeasible; The best option appeared to be removing the old porch and starting from scratch. All of this was further complicated by damage to the foundation that existed before our ownership and the possibility of more foundation damage during new construction. Taking all of this into consideration we were faced with costs that were much higher for a low maintenance deck than for concrete. Leaning then (at that point) to concrete, we obtained bids to remove the old porch and replace it with concrete. That was where Tom Dugan came in--he was confident that the old porch could be removed without further damaging the home's foundation. Also his reconstruction philosophy was to over build (not to do just enough or cheapen by cost cutting) the new unit. The price was in line with other bids and we were strongly influenced by his knowledge and expertise. The results were amazing--Tom and his crew removed the old porch in very little time and with no additional damage to the existing foundation. They then formed the new porch with four piers, rebar, and a monolithic design. They poured, finished, sealed and removed all forms the same (fair weather) day! They were careful to clean up as production proceeded and had all tools, materials and equipment needed either with them or scheduled to be delivered when needed. It was hard to believe that so much could be done so quickly. In conclusion, we were very satisfied and will definitely use them again for future planned projects.
Description of Work: Removed damaged porch and step. Replaced with new approximately 12 ft. by 20 ft. porch.

Tom Dugan was very punctual when returning phone calls or telling me when his guys and him would show up for the job. I walked around on the old sidewalk with Tom and he marked the corners with orange spray paint as I requested the new sidewalk be rounded on the ends where turning---the old sidewalk was squared on the corners. He agreed to be no problem. I then left them alone to do their work. As the job was finishing up, I surveyed the work and found the upper corner of the walk to have a rounded edge where turning, but the lower corner, at the back of the house, had a squared edge--I asked him why it wasn't rounded and he looked at me puzzled, saying "I suppose you're going to make a big deal of this??" (What was I to do now that the concrete had been poured and was hardening??) I did not respond to him as I thought that comment was unprofessional. I then looked at the side of the house, commenting on the concrete "bits" splattered on my brick house--he looked at it and responded very quickly, "oh we were holding boards up when the pouring was going on, but I guess the boards weren't held high enough"; he or 1 of his workers proceeded to clean the "bits" off the house, but later, I found the brick was not cleaned efficiently, with "bits" still showing on my brick today (day after the job). The walk itself was OK, but as far as clean up or work detail, I would not hesitate to call the job "messy". He or none of his workers cleaned the mud off my driveway and when he was leaving, he commented "the rain will wash the mud off ". Presently, I have a sidewalk with 1 rounded corner or bend, and 1 square corner or bend, "bits" of concrete still on my house, and mud still on my driveway.
Description of Work: I had a concrete slab approximately 8' x 10' (previously a shed sat on this slab) taken out and an old concrete sidewalk that had some major cracks in it, taken up and replaced with Dugan concrete pouring and installing a new sidewalk.

Response from Dugan Concrete
I Tom Dugan gave the member an estimate to tear out and replace sidewalk from driveway to 3 seasons room no charges were ever talked about in contract or on phone. I showed up that morning and I made changes to sidewalk which she wanted moved inward, which I did, so she scene sidewalk, made adjustment to forms and we poured, she paid us and was happy. We wiped some 2-3 concrete splashes off her house, she okay-ed. Said would wash off. She called me late at night and said I would come back to wipe spatters off if there were any and said I was sorry. The she emailed me to stay off my property and my workers also. Dugar Concrete did nothing wrong and did an A+ job and she knows it. I didn't charge her extra to round corner. Which I changed for her and put area she is complaining about back the way as it was. The exact way it was. Do not want in your magazine and not happy about this letter and found out by another customer. we did the customer a great job and she was happy when she paid me.

Work was excellent from start to finsih.
Description of Work: I had a sidewalk poured from my driveway to my back patio. They also extended my back patio in different areas that I didn't do when original work was done. Tom Dugan and his work crew were very professional and did excellent work. They were on time and did all the work that I requested. I made some small changes as they were doing the work with no problem. They only thing I didn';t do and I wish that I had was we told them we would take care of adding fill dirt all around the work being done. It was more hard work hauling all the topsoil that was needed. We had done this before when we were younger and I will never haul dirt again. If you are doing any of this type work have the workmen do all the finishing work.

Tom Dugan is very easy to get along with. He was able to assess our situation and come up with a couple of different options from which I was able to choose. I chose the more expensive route with the wider walkway. My wife was very concerned about her flowers and plants in the landscaped area getting messed up in the process, but Tom and his crew were able to work around them. We are very well pleased and have no complaints at all.
Description of Work: I had a water runoff problem that resulted in the soil eroding away underneath a brick planter that was attached to the side of our house. The planter had no footer under it and the bricks were cracked really bad and the sidewalk and front steps to the house had sunk down also. Dugan concrete removed all the damaged bricks and concrete and poured a new sidewalk that was wider (I decided to do away with the planter and have a wider walkway. They put down a gravel base, rebar, and poured new concrete, and sealed it. They sloped it all the right way for the water to drain correctly. It looks great and it solved a problem that could have eventually threatened the foundation of the house! They did it all in one day and they did it right. $2600 is a lot of money for me, but I am so glad I spent it with Dugan Concrete.

Tom Dugan and his crew of 2 arrived promptly and immediately got to work breaking up and removing the old floor. By the end of the first day they had removed the old floor, filled the void under the floor, compacted it down and laid rebar every 2.5 feet. Interestingly, the void under the floor was 2 feet deep (yup, a pocket of air 2 feet deep covering about 30% of the floor area), had we chosen to have to floor lifted by one of the earlier contractors it would not have been successful, the space was just too big. In order to make the new floor line up with the drive, Tom planned to build a concrete apron in front of the garage, so while excavating for the apron he checked that the drainage pipes that run under this area had not been squashed by the subsidence. On the second day, they arrived at 7:30am prompt along with a concrete truck and laid the new floor. The crew then spent about 4 hours leveling the new concrete, building a step from the garage/house entrance, polishing the floor and finally applying an acrylic sealant. They also built the planned apron between the garage and driveway. The floor is magnificent! There is no other word for it, it is a work of art! Moreover, Tom filled several cracks that had appeared in the low (6 inch wall) that runs around the garage floor - this being the top of the foundations. He did this at no extra cost to us; I pointed it out only after he had given us his quotation. Normally you count yourself lucky if you get a contractor who does a reasonable (as opposed to bad) job. In this case, however, we were exceedingly fortunate in getting Tom Dugan. He and his crew were not going to settle for anything less than excellent, and they achieved their objective. They did outstanding work, and I highly recommend them (and, incidentally, I am extremely picky!)
Description of Work: We have a double garage ajoining the house. The concrete floor of the garage had sunken about 4.5 inches in one corner and to a lesser amount over the rest of the area. Moreover, the floor was badly cracked and the rebar that had originally pinned the floor to the foundation had snapped and in so doing had cracked the top of the foundation wall in several places. Also, because of the subsidence the garage floor no longer connected properly with the driveway. Initially we called in companies that lifted concrete by drilling holes in the floor and pumping in some sort of material. These companies: Dwyer, Basement Restoration Technologies, Concrete lifting USA, were all willing to do the work and, with the exception of Basement Restoration Technologies, gave us a quote. The man from Basement Restoration Technologies recommended we hire a Structural Engineer, and we did just that (Clayzen Consulting). The man from Arrow Concrete Lifting took one look at the floor and said it would be wrong to try to lift it as it was too far gone - he said trying to lift the floor would be simply a waste of money. He recommended we contact Dugan Concrete, which we did. Tom Dugan from Dugan Concrete came round within 24 hours, gave us a reasonable quote and said he could start in 3 to 4 days. We accepted his quote. Later he called and said his present job had gone better than expected so he could start a day earlier.

As mentioned above, It has just been estimates so far. Other than being slow to return calls, his work looks good and prices are very fair.
Description of Work: Mr. Dugan has installed a number of Driveways in our subdivision. The neighbors seem happy with his work and it looks well done. I called to have a driveway, walk, and possibly a patio poured. His price was good on the drive and the walk. We had trouble communicating on the patio, and I had it put in by a different vendor. I still have to have the drive put in and will probably give him a call.

Tom Dugan, owner and operator, was very helpful and prompt. He always got back to me when I had any questions and was always on time. The work started and finished when he said it would.
Description of Work: They removed an old blacktop driveway and retaining wall. The new driveway was relocated to the other side of the house. The excavated for the new driveway, parking pad and sidewalk to the front porch. They also graded the area smooth where the old driveway was. Their crew worked extremely hard and the quality of the work is impeccable. I would definitely use them again.

They were happy to come out and repair a problem that they created during the job. I was pleased with that. My only reservation was that we asked them to do another small job, and said that they could do it at their convenience, because the winter was coming. We've yet to have that job taken care of.
