The morning the service person arrived i informed of the heat pump problem. He checked that problem first, found the problem, had a colleague bring out the part (a fan motor had failed) and got the system working again.

Description of Work: Arronco completed energy audit, installed geothermal system and air sealed house. Arronco seems to be hands down best geothermal company in area. I performed a lot of diligence, they were less expensive than 2 other providers, they have installed more systems than other providers, they perform their own drilling (as opposed to subcontracting, which could result in later issues if the loop is ineffective) and they also user WaterFurnace which is a very good system. They were very professional and no issues whatsoever. Only three things I did not expect: 1 - it took Duke Energy a long time to make lines, as a result the initial schedule fell behind by two weeks. 2 - there are a lot of inspections - 2-3 electrical, 2 pumps, 1 building, + multiple Duke visits. 3 - I had to replace the electric panel to our house. While this will overall improve/add value to the house, it made lessened to ROI for geothermal from 10 years to 14 years. The energy audit was also very cool. Sadly as of tomorrow, the county will only reimburse up to $2,000 but I basically received $4,000 back for having the audit completed and spending $900 to have house airsealed and canned lights covered/sealed. This will significantly reduce the outflow of air in summer/winter, and already we have noticed a distinct difference in our master bedroom which could never maintain same temperature as rest of house. The ECM variable blower on the HVAC unit (all units now can have these blowers) has also contributed significantly to a consistent, comfortable temperature in the house. If you plan to stay in your house indefinitely and are due for a new HVAC system, I would encourage exploring geothermal and Arronco.
