Kept saying it was my equipment and not theres. and eventually I found out later that it was up the road quite a ways.

No improvement, offer nothing to help improve signal, no offer of a,different router, just said thier signal is not that strong in our location, we are not receiving the BPS, that we have been paying for almost 9 years!

It took me 14 phone calls, and they kept telling me it was fixed, but it wasn't. Their inefficiency stands out. They came out a couple of times in that 3 month period. They called me one time to tell me it is fixed, and I kept saying what. I like the fact that it is different from the cable. Your cable goes down and there is a back up system.
Description of Work: I use Windstream for my phone service. I spoke to them last year. I had so much static on the line, that you couldn't leave a message on the answering machine, and you couldn't hear anybody. I called them in November, and they didn't fix it until March.

They seem to try hard to figure out what's wrong with the internet here but it seems to be pure luck that it started working again. Still one of the slowest ISPs in the country according to speedtest.net.

I installed the router myself, and the services still continues to drop every day between 5 to 10 minutes and as long a 1 to 3 hours before service returns.

Windstream has lousy internet service. I am constantly calling them because I pay for 12 Mbps download and NEVER get that much. Typically, I get around 8 Mbps download. They will not prorate the bill and it's always MY lines inside MY house that are the problem, not their crappy lines or overselling of the service. I keep telling them the lines inside my house are new, but it doesn't seem to matter. I have complained to the FCC and the Better Business Bureau about their service, which seems to get me priority service, but it doesn't matter because it never works the way it is supposed to. At one point, I was calling them every day. I wish I had another option, but we have two options here. Limestone cable which is ridiculously expense to minimal speed and satellite. If satellite Internet is anything like satellite TV, then I'll keep complaining to Windstream. Right now, my download speed is 9.39 Mbps with upload being .64 Mbps and I live within seeing/waling distance of the substation or whatever they call it.
Description of Work: I have no idea. He came in, looked at my computer, went outside and told me he would check some things out. About a half hour later, I look out the window and there isn't a company van/truck in site. Typical Windstream. They say they are going to do something and then leave without a report.
