LUTE PLUMBING SUPPLY

I purchased a 60x32 Comcast shower and sink both custom made to fit my space when I added a lower level bathroom to my home in order to accommodate my elderly mother. Both pieces are beautiful. However during this past winter when we had the arctic cold temperatures. I had to let the sink faucets drip at night to prevent pipes from freezing. After the freeze had passed, I discovered an area approx 4 inches square in my sink basin that looked like the color was leached out it could only have happened because of the dripping water I visited the salesman (Tim) at lute with pictures in hand for him to see. At first he reassured me he would help me out with the manufacturer to find out what happened. But as time went by and as I lost my patience because of inaction, he resorted to blaming the defect on the water- that same water I drink in my home - while the City of Ashland did have water issues- but only issues of leaks due to broken pipes because of the Arctic cold there was never an issue during that period of contaminated water. Common sense tells me that My sink is made for water use and water in no way should be able penetrate the finish or any chemicals in the water penetrate the finish or seal to get to the color Weeks later with no word fromTim Lute, I resorted to making contact with the distributor in Cincinnati, Ohio. Theyactually tried to be helpful. I think They hoped it was something like a film on the surface and queried me as to what products I had used on it for cleaning. But I used nothing harsh at all. They suggested a number of products for me to try- yes all at my expense. At no time did anyone ask to come look at the damage and assess it from a more professional view. Here is what I am left with - I can dismantle the sink and send it back to them at my own expense. Then their experts will examine the sink to determine why this happened. I wonder what they would find checking on themselves while I have to pay for their defect I'm sorry but I have little faith that they would determine this to be their fault and replace it at their expense., especially since they didn't want to see this damage first hand I suppose the company thinks this is a fluke and that it won't happen to other customers there has yet been no problem with the shower. But my moth is now in a nursing home and the shower is seldom used Thank you Angie's List the only outlet I have to let others know and to beware of this Comcast product and of Lute Supply in Ashland I certainly don't believe they fully support or work to protect their customers
