FIVE STAR TRANSFER & STORAGE

Description of Work: This was the second move of a full house of furniture within a 5 month period. It was strictly a furniture move both times, we did not have any packing services or household goods moved. Furniture included a living room, formal dining room, 3 bedrooms and very heavy antique piano. They arrived on time, took care in handling the furniture including disassembling & reassembling bedroom furniture. Both moves went smoothly and would absolutely use them again.

Description of Work: Moved our furntiure and boxers...we packed the boxers oursevles so they only moved us. We used this company two different times. They send three people. The first time was in 2010 moving from WV to KY and didn't see the moving blankets like I did the second time. The first time the movers scratched up some furniture and ran into a wall and damaged it. They did have the lowest price but was upset with the situation. I called and person was nice think his name is Bill....but instead of having them fix the scratches I did it myself but I was still upset about the wall. Then in May of 2012 we were moving again from KY back to WV and we were having trouble getting movers for the dates we needed so we went with them again. They sent different movers but this time I saw the moving blankets and could smell them since they were smelling up the room at times. The movers were nice and wrapped the items well but still had a couple scratches on a couple pieces of furniture. One of the movers told me about the blankets smelling and he was trying to find ones that didn't smell so my furniture wouldn't smell. It grossed me out. He said the blankets don't get washed and cleaned like they should be and stay in the trucks too long and some of the places they move, etc....some are dirty than others and he said alot more but I don't want him to get in trouble. I tried to clean my furniture as they brought some into the house after they unwrapped it and after they left I Lysol sprayed the beds, couches, etc. The blankets smelled awful and looked awful and the movers were getting dirtier from handling them. I tried to dust my furniture before movers handled them so they didn't get dirty from my stuff. It made me wonder how long they had been gross and stinking and bugs and everything nasty about them. If I could have said if you are moving me you need to get some cleaner moving blankets that don't stink and look like they came off a garbage truck. Makes me wonder what they used moving my stuff packing it on the truck the first time in 2010 siince we didn't see them wrap until items on the truck. I won't use them again because of how stinky the blankets they used and I have some more things to say but will not since I felt the movers couldn't help it. The actual movers were nice and tried to take care of my stuff but they tried to move too much at once and felt drawers should have been removed. They were carrying too much weight for two people carrying it or one person at times. I think this moving company needs to be cleaner and take more pride in what they putting on customers furniture to move it. Smelly dirty and gross moving blankets are not good business. My husband said not to call just get drivers in trouble and they did work hard and don't get paid much. It is the owners fault of the blankets and service.
