Rod installed a tile backsplash (I bought materials). He did a great job and I would definitely recommend and use again.

Unfortunately I experienced a very unprofessional lack of reply to 2 inquiries by me. 1) I contacted them 11 days ago on Angies list messaging to request followup via email or phone to discuss my project and next steps, 2) After no reply after a week I called them and left a voice mail requesting the same followup. I have received no reply or acknowledgement of my communications. If they are busy or not interested in my project, the professional response would be to return my call and let me know that. To have no reply is disappointing and not what I would expect based on the reviews on this site.

Rodney is a true tile craftsman. We would have loved to use his services, but the floor would require more labor to do We would use them again

Went well the work done turned out great, the only complaint I have is the mess that was left. Other than that the tile work turned out great.

Rod was great to work with. He and his helper installed a frame-less shower enclosure for me. Took them around 5 hours start to finish, they had all the required tools and did a great job.

Everything was professionally installed. The installers were on time, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. They had information on each item installed, and were very informative on my painting project. I am thinking about having them back to paint my rooms.

We had Rod come out an give an estimate for fixing a shower and some electrical work. Him and his wife were prompt in coming out. He looked at the shower and gave us an estimate. He then went above the call of duty looking at an electrical issue. He was determined to find the problem and didn't charge us even though he spent about 45 determined to find the cause. We will definitely use Rod for some of our home projects.

Perfect. This is the third time they've finished projects for us. We've tried several other remodel/home-improvement/handyman services - Rod's Home Improvement is the best, hands down.

Rodney's Home Improvement just finished remodeling my basement. They did an excellent job and I absolutely love it. Although, I had other contractors come to my home and give me estimates I just felt a sincere connection with Rodney and Teresa. Rodney made suggestions on things that I should do with my basement. One suggestion that he made that I like was instead of carpet he suggested that I use vinyl flooring. So glad that I went with his suggestion. Rodney and his crew were always on time, very professional and the nicest people you would ever meet. I can't say enough about Rod's Home Improvement. I am planning a kitchen remodel and I will definitely be calling Rodney's Home Improvement to do the job!

I will never attempt to use the service again nor do I recommend anyone to use this service because they are unprofessional and unreliable.

The work that was performed was very good, and even went above and beyond on several occasions. One area needed some additional drywall work and looked terrible. Called Rod back to look at it at it himself. He promptly came out agreed how bad it was and said he would come back out and make the necessarry repairs himself. He never returned to make those repairs even after several attempts to contact him, with no response. One major issue I had was that for cleanup and for some of the work performed, his workers used my equipment. I did not mind that they used my stuff if there equipment was not available as long as what they used eqipment was still in good working condition, but the several items were left in a messy and dirty condition and actually had to replace one of the items they used. I have tried to contact them later for additional work but again with no response. Work is good when they do show up. I would definitely have them come back and do some work for me again, if i could get them to call back.

Overall I am very pleased with the backsplash in the kitchen. I would recommend having them come out before the day of installation. I purchased the tile ahead of time and was not sure how much I needed. He suggested I needed more of the pencil pieces so they did not need to cut each tile. This saved me money which was great. I needed to go back to the store that day to purchase them. The only issue was with the outlet covers I purchased. I wish he would have looked at them ahead of time because after the tile was installed I could not use them.

Called them in early October to see about laying a new tile floor in my daughter's kitchen. They came over Oct. 6, 2015, took measurements, etc. and quoted a price of $2600 to remove old vinyl and install ceramic. To save money, we were to get the tile, subfloor, grout, glue. They told us they had a big job going on and it would be about 6 weeks. We said that's fine. 6 weeks came and went. My daughter called around Nov. 20 and was told by Rod "Oh, yeah, I forgot all about you." He said to call his wife and she'd set things up. My daughter called, left a message, never got a return call. It's now Dec. 16 and nothing. Very frustrating, unreliable, inconsiderate.

Due to the fact that there was slate cemented to my concrete porch he stopped once he saw was underneath. Rodney then told me I needed to get a concrete guy out to to reform my steps and that it would be better if they took over the job to prevent any further complications. I am satisfied with they way that Rodney handled the situation and he did not charge me anything. He even referred me to someone who could take on the job. Overall I am glad i had someone honest even though they could not do the job because of the overall condition of my porch.

I called them over a month ago to have them come out to do the work. They came out to check the job. I found a Big Deal that they were offering and so I called to see if they would be able to do the job. They said that they would call to let me know if when they would be available. They never called me back. They are not reliable and they are not fulfilling their obligations to people.

Rodney and Teresa were really great to work with! I'm sorry that it's taken me this long to write them a review! We had a basement that was fully finished on one side of the staircase and partially finished on the other side. We wanted to close off the fully finished side and turn it into our master suite. Rodney and Teresa met me at our new home (we just bought it and hadn't moved in yet) in the evening (very convenient) and took the time to listen to what we were envisioning while making great recommendations for tweaks to help cost, functionality, etc.... His quote was much better than the other one we had received ($1900). He worked quickly and did a very good job. At the same time he was working to finish up the closet/entryway work we were told by our electrician that he had found questionable electrical work that had been done in the basement (yeah, an extension cord spliced to connect a ceiling light to a plug within the drywall is certainly questionable) and the ceiling needed to come down to verify the rest of the work. We did the ceiling demo ourselves. Rodney, as it turned out, was available to hang new drywall for us and offered the option of painting the ceiling on the other side a matte black (which does look cool!) since it was going to be my son's hang out area and would be much cheaper than drywalling both sides ($950). Rodney was even able to come back and do various odd and end jobs that we either didn't have the time to do or didn't want to do for fear of harming our freshly painted walls, etc - which was very reasonable ($175). He went above and beyond and was very patient with everything that was happening at once in our house - painting, electrical and his construction. I told Rodney and Teresa the night that I met them that we have more work we'll want done in the future and I was looking to find someone with whom we wanted to continue to work. We have found that contact in Rodney and Teresa.

The job they did in the basement was good. They did however do $864.00 worth of damage to my brand new car. I can't prove who did it but it was not there in the morning that they came and they backed their truck in and were taking out lots of drywall and other materials. I know it was an accident but they should have admitted it and taken the clame because there was nobody else here.

Rodney and Teresa are great people. I called them for a bid after all kinds of delays from the person we originally contracted. I explained to them that we had friends coming to visit and really wanted the work done right away. After thinking it over, Rodney said it wouldn't be a problem and they could get it done by the deadline. AND THEY DID. After meeting Rodney and Teresa and then Mike, I trusted them enough to give them keys while we left town for the weekend. We returned home to see significant progress and they were done with all of the work when they said they would be. The Barnes are people of their word and I always see something in my house I'd like done, so I'm hoping they're our "forever contractors." :)

Fantastic! From scheduling the service to the estimate and the finished work - fabulous. They went above and beyond what was expected and saved me big money by repairing my window instead of having to get it replaced. I am thrilled with the result. I will definitely hire them again for jobs around the house. My windows look brand new!

Three workmen were here over the 3 day period. All were polite and professional. Rodney is very meticulous about installation being even and looking good. I was very pleased with the results and cleanup. They worked with my schedule to complete the job before Memorial Day. They lagged a bit behind the ETA they gave me each day, but worked hard when they got here and completed the job timely.

Last fall my wife and I started a remodeling job on our basment. We received several bids and Rodney's Home Improvement was by far the most economical choice. More importantly than that was the fact that Rodney was very prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Not only did he offer my wife and I several different alternatives to completing the basment but he also took the time and listened to what we wanted making suggestions that we didnt even think of that turned out to look great and saved us a lot of money. The entire team was very professional and pleasant to be around. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a remodeling job completed by a company that still takes a great deal pride in their craft. We will be using them again for many more projects around our home.

Rod and Teresa ( from Rod's Home Improvement) were responsive to our inquiry to having work down at our home. They called us back and set up a time to come over and listen to our wants and needs. They took a lot of notes and did measurements the very first day. We agreed on a start day and what we wanted to have accomplished for the project at hand. Teresa always kept in touch with us as far as paperwork and bids and was great with getting everything organized on the schedule. The contract was signed and we were ready to go. Rod showed up on time everyday and cleaned up after himself every evening. He was a pleasure to work with. Any time we had questions or asked about if something could be changed he was very accomodating. He even came up with ideas that we did not think about that were even better than our ideas with our design. The project was complete on time and on budget!! We would refer Rod and Teresa to anyone and everyone for your projects. They are honest hard working people and they pay attention to detail and get the job done right. We have owned many homes (personal and investment) and will never use any other contractor except Rod.
