Mid America Exteriors

My brother and, my father before him, have relied on the excellent work and competitive bids for the wrapping of soffit and eaves, basement window replacements and, most recently, the two bathrooms remodeled which my brother and his wife absolutely love. Because of that high recommendation, I always give Mid America Exteriors, and their great salesman and project coordinator, Seth, a chance at bids. The most recent bid was quite competitive for replacement windows, which are top of the line, but was not in my budget at the present time since I had higher priority improvements that needed to be done first. In the excitement of the great deal Seth made, I signed but had to back out days later because of the other things I needed to get done first. I would like to thank the owner, Dave Becker, for allowing me to back out of the deal. Dave is a excellent person and a perfect gentlemen and I can see why both my brother, and my father (God rest his soul) have relied on Mid America Exteriors for their needed home improvements over the past 20 years. They always put in very quality products and at very competitive price. I would recommend Mid America for whatever work you need to have done on your home. They should always be a go to for a bid. I hope to someday use them for a project on my own home. Thank you for the good work that you do.

I have dealt with a contractors here in the Wichita area and Mid-America exteriors are by far the best. What I particularly appreciate what is the fact that went Seth arrived to look at the job and see what I needed he spent time with me listening to my needs and asked all along questions to make sure that I had exactly what I wanted. When he told me that the estimate will be available on a particular day it was there. Also, Joey was very diligent in letting me know the status of my work order, when the work would start, who is coming over and how to contact them if I needed to, and what supplies were in the warehouse and with supplies were still on or and when they were going to get there. I don’t think I could’ve asked for much more than that. The crews that showed up were there when they were supposed to. I even got heads up phone calls they were on their way. The cruise very professional, did an outstanding job, cleaned up, and even followed up by asking me if I was satisfied with the job. If I could put this company on speed dial, I would do it! I’m not saying that this was some of the best work and I had done, this was THE Best work I’ve ever had done. When I hired this company again? In a New York minute!

The job was completed and improved the look of the house.

The price was competitive. They did an excellent job. They did exactly what they promised they would do and did it in a timely fashion. They cleaned up very well after they completed the job. It was a good experience.

They are very professional, and do quality work, but very expensive.

Quality of windows are good. Installation was not complete and wall was damaged. Had to finish/correct myself after 2 weeks with little response. Promised to look at other issues. Never returned.

Other than taking a bit of time to get us scheduled between the bigger jobs, the whole experience could not have been better. Tremendous effort went into matching paint and the grain of siding. They even found a couple of areas we had not noticed. We could not have been more pleased with the courteous and friendly service, and the finished result. They even let us keep the extra siding and the paint they had matched for later jobs. We would not hesitate to recommend them or use them when the time comes to do the full siding replacement that will eventually come. Great job!

Great! Very professional. Installed on time. Total clean up. No complaints! Great savings on utilities.

The company came in a timely manner to give us an estimate. We liked the rep and products offered. We decided to go with a special shake shingle siding and the regular siding. They scheduled to begin about a month after we paid our deposit. They arrived as scheduled each morning and stayed at work till lunch and time to go home. They always let me know if there was a change in the schedule for the day. They finished in their estimated time. The price was as expected. They were professional and did a neat job. Clean up was good, and they ran a magnet over the yard to pick up an metal and nails. They caulked around every edge. The work was done 2 summers ago and the work has held up great. We have had a couple of problems...wind blew off a piece of siding, and the front door has had some issues with locking and shutting. They have called and scheduled a time to do the repairs right away and they were done to our satisfaction. They replaced a part on the door when they found it was defective from the factory. Bottom line...we would recommend this company to our neighbors and family.

Not good. I called them after seeing their ad on TV that they would reside a whole house for $8000 with concrete board siding. I thought wow that's a good deal. I gave them a call and they gave me an estimate of $20,000. I don't see how they get away with advertising $8000. They said $8,000 would be the figure for an average size house and large houses would be more. My house is not a large house. It is one story with 1600 square feet on the main floor so it is not that big.

The salesman came to the house was very courteous. He drove me around the neighborhood to view different siding so I could choose which type.

They've done this for me in two different houses. They are very respectable and very honest. They are not the least expensive, but they're certainly not the most expensive.

The installers, Bob Goodman and his son, showed up on a Wednesday to stow his tools and look over the job. the next day he was at work by 8:30 and worked straight thru till 5:30, and he did this every workday until the job was done. the siding was installed with meticulous care and attention to detail that I have yet to see by any other company in Wichita. Our house is a 1923, California bungalow, that has good structure, but the exterior needed work. Our initial thought was to keep the exterior as close to original as we could. Replacing the existing fir siding, while maintaining the original 3 1/4 inch lap was proving to be outrageously expensive. we were approached by MAE and concluded that the 4 1/2 inch siding that was offered by them in the Everlast material would be the closest we would get to the original. Their product is head and shoulders above any exterior siding, that i researched. the job was completed on time and on budget. My wife and I would like to thank the salesman, Jeff Moses, and especially Bob Goodman, the installation technician, for an outstanding finish to our house. I strongly encourage anyone who wishes to re side their house to pay a visit to the office of MAE on east central avenue and look at their line of products.

After calling him twice over a period of 3 weeks and no return response, he did show up and looked over job. He took down the information and was going to call me back. Also gave him my e-mail address. He said he would need to check out supplys and costs and get back with me within a week. Two months later I have not had any contact from him. Guessing he didn't want the job or was too busy for this job. Sorry to give a negative report, and thinking I may have to hire someont to help me do it myself.

It took about three months for the windows to be manufactured and delivered, but we were in no hurry. Windows were the highest energy efficient from "Restorations Innovative Window Systems." (Ultra Kr 90) We had mostly casement crank-out windows with 5 non-movable windows. Windows were all measured twice by different individuals. (we highly recommend this - "Measure twice, cut once") Windows all fit perfectly and were in good shape upon arrival. Installation was begun by removing all blinds and curtains inside. Then the old windows were replaced one-by-one and new windows installed as they went. After all the new windows were in place and caulked, the interiors were trimmed out and finished first. Blinds and curtains were then replaced. Exteriors were then trimmed and finished - this took the most time per window. Total installation took almost 8 full workdays with 99% of the work done by one long-time very experienced/capable workman, Mike - an extremely responsible person and a joy to work with. Even after only a few windows were in place, we could begin to tell the difference in the light levels and noise levels in the house. After all windows were in place, the light levels, noise levels in the house were noticeably lower and the temperature in the house was noticeably cooler. We are extremely pleased with all aspects of our project including the quality of the windows and with the professional workmanship of the installer - Mike. I would highly recommend Mid America and the "Restorations" windows for window replacement projects.

They were wonderful to work with. From working with Jeff in the very beginning to their very professional installer. He really knew what he was doing and I couldn't be any happier with my decision to go with Mid-America. Once the windows were completed, Jeff came by to show me again how they workded and to check that everything was satisfactory. Wonderful people and company. I would highly recommend them.

This company is commendable. Gary came numerous times with samples and ideas. He gave me ideas for solving a basement leak problem that isn't even work they do. He was always easy to contact and, when we decided on a product, he scheduled the work in a timely manner and the team that installed were considerate and professional. Gary is a gem. He clearly had our interests in mind, helped us through some decisions and coordinated his work with other providers we were using. If I have other work, I will definitely use Mid American Exteriors.

Very pleased with communication from this company and with the quality of work. There was a problem with our order (the wrong type of window sashes were ordered), and the salesperson and owner came to our house to make sure they understood how to correct the error. The new frames were installed in the meantime, but we paid nothing until the right sashes were installed. Mistakes happen and MAE did everything to set theirs right. Now that the work is done, we are very pleased with the neatness and quality.

Kyle who went over the type of windows they produced was able to answer all of our questions and you could tell he knew what he was talking about & not just a sales person. Mike our installer was great and worked without a break to finish the job within the time they had given us. He did not leave any mess after the installation and his skill with a cleaner was much better than mine as pointed out by my wife. The very best installer period. On completion Kyle came back to check how the job had gone and that we where happy with the installation. Recent cold weather as mainly gone unoticed in our house as the boiler fires up a lot less than before with the house being warn & snug. Thanks MAE

The estimator came out within a week, which was very quick considering how many homes in the area were affected by the storm. He came at 6pm, and had a written estimate the next morning for us. The total cost of the project was approximately $300 more than the estimate provided by the insurance company. I thought this was very fair. They contacted my insurance company and tried to negotiate a better rate to close the $300 gap but, were unable to. It did take several months to get the repairs done. This had to do with availability of workman and supplies. I was disappointed that I was not kept better informed during the process about when to expect the various repairs to be completed. Now that the job is completed, I am overall happy with everything involved. The crews were profession, polite and courteous.

They were very professional and knowledgeable about the product and installation. I could not be happier with the work they did. They finished the work while I was gone on vacation. I did add some items to the original bid. There was a reasonable and expected additional cost for the additions. There was no hassle with the contractor as there are with some contractors when changes are made. The changes were discussed and agreed upon before the work was done. When a question was asked about the finish on the siding, Mid America Exteriors (installer) and River Valley Lumber (supplier), along with the Wausau Representative, resolved the question in an excellent manner.

The sales person was helpful, they were fine about client choosing who to work with. Repairs were done well and quickly. They worked with us to do some remodeling of the front of the house to help keep cost down while making the look better.
