Lies Trash Service

My family has had Lies Trash service for years. When we moved into our current residence, we continued with Lies about Oct. 2005, or scheduled time was supposed to be on Thursday's in the morning. At first things went well and then the driver that we had retired from what I was told. Then we got this other guy that was about as inept and lazy as can be. He would dump the container scattering the debris in the middle of the street and not picking it up. Then a lot of times he would "throw" our container in the yards of other neighbors or in the middle of the drive way, this container would be on it's side. When I had come home from a trip to the grocery store, I found out that our recepticle was again thrown in the middle of the drive. I had a broken foot in which I had to get out on crutches and pick up this recepticle and move it out of the way. I called the office and a woman named Jennifer seemed a bit anoyed that I was calling to ask that the recepticle be placed on the curb as we had it when the garbage was picked up. My family again started having problems with the same driver not showing up as scheduled (morning pickups per Lies schedule), he would show up as late as 6:00 pm. At one point during this time our container broke and the driver was supposed to inform the manager about the container. I called approx. 2 days later and asked when our trash was to be picked up and the driver didn't tell anyone about this broken container. I was told by the woman in the office that I should have another container within a day. Again, I didn't have the container replaced and trash was piling up. Yes, we were current on our payments with Lies. I called again and I was told that no one informed them about the broken container. Yes, I was irrate with the woman. Finally, after bickering with the office again, our neighbors had to call and tell them in fact that the container was broken and the trash remained in the container "stinking" up the neighborhood. This went on for nearly 2 weeks. Again, we checked and we were current with our payment. The same inept/lazy driver remains on this route and still scattering trash debris in the middle of a residential street. On May 9, 2011, we had enough of Lies raising our trash payment for the last time. We canceled out our service, and asked for a refund on the remaining balance of our account. We were told that our refund would take 6 - 8 weeks. After our new service gave us a bill, we started thinking that we hadn't received our refund, so I called Lies again on 7/28/2011. The woman on the phone told me that no one put on our account that we asked for our refund and we were told that it would take another 3 - 5 weeks before we would get our refund. The office staff is so unprofessional it's not even funny. One of the female office workers has cussed and belittled us as well as many other customers. My husband and I were so furious that we sent a certified letter telling them that we expect our refund in a timely manner. We still haven't heard anything from Lies. If you live on a fixed income, you can ill afford to let any business keep "free" money. The same day I went online to see if there were any complaints against Lies with the BBB and there were 12 complaints made especially on billing/statement issues as well as service complaints. There were other sites (merchantcircle.com, yellowbook.com, ect.) that we checked as well and found multiple complaints, especially one family had to go to the City of Wichita to get a problem resolved with Lies. Then just recently there was a person that took a video on July 9, 2011 of service he and his family had received. This video is on youtube and to verify what type of service you could get put Lies Trash Service in the search area. In my humble opinion, stay away from Lies Trash Service. They may be less expensive, but the quality of Customer Service and Service isn't worth the savings with this company. There are better garbage collectors out there that do charge less and do a much better job of Customer Service and Service. I know because we now have a wonderful Company, UPDATE: On Aug. 1, 2011, we received a check from Lies. However, we didn't get the entire amount that was due. For some reason after doing the math, they gave us 6 weeks back instead of 8 weeks. Now that my seem trivial, but after all of the hassle that they have put us through and the phone calls made and living on a fixed income, I would NOT hire this company for any reason. Plus, after a phone call made, Lies refused to give us an explanation as to why they felt that this was the amount that was left on the balance and a break down.
