Bryan was referred to my husband and me by a friend of ours who had him do some work on her College Hill home. We had a big and tricky project - 100-year old 2 story house plus basement and attic with dormer windows, with original clapboard wood siding that had layers of paint which was peeling in places, and decorative shingles on the backside of the house that were weatherbeaten and needed to be replaced. There's lead paint under the more recent layers, which required careful scraping without the use of power washing and use of tarps with careful cleanup every night. He did a thorough and meticulous job. The edges of the trim are sharp and not bleeding into the house color, all of the peeling paint was removed, and overall it looks very clean and professional. He got to spots that were tricky to get to and/or very high off the ground. The few minor areas we pointed out that needed touching up he did so promptly. The shingle work is beautiful, as are the soffits that he repaired. As part of the package, he fixed our front fence that had a couple of posts that were rotted. He kept to his original estimate even though that job turned out to be more complicated than he expected. The project took about 3 weeks total because there were a number of days where the rain delayed things. Also it was just him and one other guy. We weren't in a hurry, though, so that was fine with us. His price overall was very reasonable considering the amount of work he did and the quality, and the lead paint precautions he had to take. Price included all the materials (paint, wood for soffit repair, flashing), except for the shingles which we ordered online. Would definitely recommend him, especially if you have an older house. He is very good with detail. We plan on contacting him for other projects in the future.
