+ 0 moreIt went very well. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable, and resolved an issue for me where I had two very different assessments of the problem. He told me to call him anytime if I had questions, and I feel he really meant it.

+ -1 moreLimited inspection to roof and part of foundation. Received a good report with detailed drawings and instruction on what to repair and how. Limited to only part of the foundation he could see. In his day, he was probably one h*** of an engineer but he has back issues and can not get into a low crawl space. Wish he had a younger apprentice to help.

+ -1 moreVery well, we called him and he came to El Dorado from Wichita the very next day!
Description of Work: I hired him to do a structural inspection required by FHA to close on our home. He is the only structural engineer I was able to get ahold of in our area so I really do not know if the price was fair. He gave us a lot of helpful advice for when we do own the home. Including precautions and helpful tips!

+ -1 moreDick Hartwell showed up on time and was personable and friendly. He spent as much time as needed to address my issues and answer questions. No complaints. He summarized his findings in a letter afterward.
Description of Work: Inspected kitchen walls to see whether or not they were load-bearing, as part of planning for a kitchen remodel. He looked in the attic to see structural integrity of the kitchen/garage area.

+ -1 moreWe had Hartwell out to inspect our 108 year-old house. He was good all the way around and seemed to know what he was talking about. He did not provide a computer report (this is not uncommon) or stick around very long (probably because it was a simple job). Overall he did a good job.
