They were very professional and kind, they quoted a very fair price for A/C replacement. The work was completed on time and exactly as they said it would be. I was even able to trust them with a lock box on my door. They communicated well and I would recommend them 100% to anyone that needs a/c work.

On the day of the install, December 5th, which installation I had previously been told would begin early in the morning because it would take all day, I heard nothing from Hanna. I waited and waited for someone to call or come. At 10 am I finally called Hanna to ask if they were going to come, as I had not even received a phone call from them as to why they were late. The receptionist assured me someone would be coming. Eventually the installers arrived. The work seemed to go fine, they took time off for lunch. I was okay with the way things went that day except for some screws and sharp pieces of metal left on my carpeting. I did have to ask them to replace some furniture in my basement which they had moved. I do wish I hadn't had to ask them to put furniture back, as the company's representative had not informed me the movement of furniture would be necessary when they had come out to give the bid. By the time the job was finished it was after 5:30 pm. A few days later I received a letter from Hanna informing me I would need to call to schedule a city inspector to approve the installation. I called the city and was told that the company does that and they shouldn't have sent me that letter. This left me puzzled. Eventually, the company told me they needed to get the furnace inspected. I stayed home for the inspector to come. The installation was not approved; it needed corrections, including the venting of exhaust gas from the furnace, which wasn't done properly. This was the 4th of January. The inspector said he would notify the company. I was afraid to sleep at my house with the furnace exhaust not being done properly. On Jan 18th I found my cell phone had Hanna's phone number on it from the previous day, but no message. I called Hanna to see if they were going to do the correction on my furnace. I scheduled it for the next morning and asked them to call me before the representative would be arriving. I had hoped to be given enough time to drive to my house; the representative of the company who phoned me sounded disappointed when I told her it would take me 20 min to be available. I replied that maybe I could make it 15. When I arrived at my home I found a Hanna van parked in my driveway, preventing me from parking in my own driveway. I had to park in the street. As I approached the representative got out of his van. I mentioned I would rather he hadn't parked in my driveway. He said, "Oh I thought you were home." After I let the representative into my house he unfortunately did not explain what he would be doing. As I passed the kitchen I noticed him there at my kitchen sink, getting water and stirring up something. It would have been nice if he had communicated to me what he needed and what he was doing and going to do. Instead he was just silent. As I am not familiar with heating nor air conditioning work it would have been very nice to at least be communicated with. Eventually there was another ringing of my doorbell. I didn't know who this was. As a woman who has been through sexual assault I do not answer the door unless I am expecting someone. Evidently this was the city inspector to inspect my furnace. It would have been considerate of the representative to have informed me there would be another man coming to my house so I could have been prepared and not had to go through this anxiety. Eventually the city inspector reappeared and I asked him if everything was okay. He said it was and left. The Hanna representative eventually reappeared and said I needed to pay the rest of the bill. I said I would call and pay. He stood there in my house watching me as I worked. Eventually he said, "I can take a check if you'd like to give me one." I said I didn't have a check with me and I was going to call and pay by credit card. He still stood there in my house as I tried to work. After several minutes I was getting more uncomfortable with him standing there in my family room watching me. I walked through my kitchen and living room to the front door and opened it and I said to him, "The front door is here." After this man left I called Hanna wanting to discuss his behavior; I was pressured to pay the remaining $620 of the bill and threatened that my bill would be sent to collection the next morning if I did not pay by 5 pm on the 19th of Jan. This after I had spent 2 weeks afraid to sleep in my house because the furnace exhaust was not correctly done. I asked for a discount due to the installation not having been done correctly in the first place. I was told my remaining bill of $622 would be sent to collection the next morning if not paid by 5 pm Jan 19th. This after I had paid almost the entire bill and spent 2 weeks waiting. The Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department notifies the company automatically by email at 5 pm or at the latest, at midnight on the day of inspection (Jan 4th) that the correction needs to be made. Hanna should have corrected this problem right away instead of waiting so many days. And then, for them to threaten to send the tiny amount remaining on my bill to collection is unprofessional.

When our A/C died over the weekend in triple digit hot weather, I called several companies to get on their list for service. The only company that called me back first thing Monday morning was Hanna Heating and Air Conditioning Co. in Andover, KS. They actually called before 8 a.m. and said that someone could be at our house that same afternoon. He arrived about noon, and since we had several repairs on the system that is now 20 years old, I chose not to purchase a new blower for approx. $500, and instead chose a new system. They were able to get me on their schedule for Thursday of that same week. John and Ray arrived at 8:30 in the morning on Thursday and worked straight through until 4:30 to get everything installed, checked, and running. Our home is cool and comfortable again, and the new system is quiet!! John and Ray were very respectful of our home and property, were both very professional about their work, and obviously very experienced, too. We will continue to use Hanna to service our new system in the Spring and Fall to keep it running smoothly. Also, the next day I went online to the Trane website to register the new system. The site was somewhat confusing, and I called the front office at Hanna. She was very nice and walked me through with entering all of the model and serial numbers for the air conditioner, coil, furnace, and thermostat. I will highly recommend Hanna in Andover to my friends and acquaintances.
Description of Work: Hanna in Andover, KS installed all new air conditioning and furnace, plus a new thermostat.

As usual, the service technician was on time and courteous. He gently reminded me that my heater was getting very old (15 years) and might need replacing in a couple of years; he never aggressively tried to sell me on buying a new heater.

They were very helpful in helping us narrow down and learn about the different systems. They were very good about providing education about how the systems work. They gave us discount and threw in a freebee. Danny was the sales rep and we really liked him. The installers did a really good job and it passed the inspection without any problem.

Their bid was very reasonable, their staff was on time, always had the parts needed on their truck, completed the job on time, would come back to job next day after being called if we had any questions about system. We would definitely hire them for any hvac job, including duct cleaning that they do very well and reasonably. Their phone and office staff were always professional and very polite. They have some workers that have been in the business a long time and have good ways of doing things. They also listen to their customer, even if some of our ideas poor.
Description of Work: Hanna Heating & Air Conditioning Co quoted and installed a new hvac system for a new custom home under construction. They also cleaned ducts on a previous installation where a customer had thought something was crawling around in her duct work.

I've been pretty happy with them. They gave us a service agreement that sounded like a good deal and I think it did save us money. There are several locations within the city. The people they have come out are just reasonable people and I just felt any time we've used them there was no question. it was all very professional. They put on their booties when they come in, that's great. They called before they came, I always appreciate that because then I know it's them coming to my door. It's a fairly new unit so they didn't have to do anything clean. They are probably not the cheapest but I don't think they are trying to get away with anything.

I wanted to vent my kitchen stove--this seems to be a rare event in this area. I purchased a copper exterior vent online. To get it installed I needed to have a custom duct make. I provided my measured drawing to Hanna customer service who said that the piece could easily be made by thier folks. The work that I received was per my drawing/measurements with excellent jointwork. I would have no problem using Hanna again. While I eventually went with another type of vent I still have the custom piece in my basement--maybe on my next house:)

After spending $7500 on a new furnace, heat pump and air conditioner in 2008 my compressor went bad on the unit. The unit had a seven year warranty on it however Hanna charged me $1600.00 in labor cost. I understand that Labor isn't free and have no problem paying for it but I think $1600.00 for four hours work is excessive!

We used them and we feel we got ripped off really bad. We wouldn't use them again for heating and air. It's a big company. They are probably one of the biggest companies in Wichita. Our air conditioner went out and it was really hot, like 105. They all charge for a service call which is understandable. They charged us an ungodly amount for a capacitor. They charged us over $100.00 for a capacitor. I called and could have walked in at a wholesaler and without a discount bought it for $6.00 or $10.00. It was an ungodly rip-off. We won't call them again. What they were doing is kind of common practice with them. One year my daughter needed her air conditioner worked on and it was July 4th weekend. They came and told her it was going to cost her $700.00. She called my ex-husband who is in heating and air conditioning. He is a master electrician in heating and air and plumbing. We lived 150 miles away. She told him that it was the capacitor and that the company was going to charge her $700.00 to replace this capacitor. She went down to a store and used my husband's account which she could have bought it and paid full price which would have been half as much or more. She ended up having to buy two of them and he talked to her on how to wire the two capacitors and make the one that she couldn't find. She repaired it for $6.00. This kind of stuff goes on all the time and they can get away with it. Hanna Heating charged us way more than $100.00. They charged us for the service call which is normal and they did clean out the unit. That was another expense. They marked the parts up probably 500-fold. I had the old capacitor that they took out and I called the company where my ex-husband used to buy stuff and they had overcharged us a lot. I don't have a problem with what they charged for the service call. It was normal. They did clean the outside screen which would be part of the service call. Our complaint was what they charged for the capacitor. I know they don't cost as much as what they charged especially when I had it in my hand and I called the store which is where they probably got it and they probably got it at a cheaper price. They just charged us too much. I just wouldn't use them. The quality was probably fine. They came when they said they would. I wasn't there with them but they were fine on professionalism. It was an outrageous price. They did a good job and they came when they said but they ripped me off on the parts prices. They did come when they said but I thought it was a rip-off on the price. As a walk-in full price payer, I think the entire cost would have been $6.00 or $8.00 and they charged us something like $75.00.
Description of Work: Hanna Heating & Air Conditioning Company came out last summer and cleaned the outside coils and replaced the capacitor of our air conditioner.
