Peak was only able to address the wall problem, which would have been sufficient if that was the only problem we were facing. We hired another contractor and had the total flooring removed (which included asbestos), and then had the wood floor removed, and a concrete floor poured (4" thick). The other contractor also repaired the concrete walls, and replaced the drywall.

They did a good job on our repair. The guy no-showed on the day of our appointment, after waiting about three weeks to get them here, but they sent someone out the next day to do it. The price was a bit steep for what was actually done, but it was about 1/10th the cost of what Complete Basement Systems wanted to do. I would recommend this company and I would use them again.

One of the biggest problems for a homeowner is getting someone to respond to a request for a quote. Often you call or leave internet information and it's a black hole of no response. Not so with Peak Structural. In fact I received a call back the same day as I'd put in the request. Before I was able to call back the next day Danielle had already reached out to me to schedule my onsite visit. I look forward to the next step and already feel they are ready to work with me.

I was hoping to have the floors raised more than they were, but Zach Milligan did everything he could to perform this service up to code and do the job to the best of his ability at the time. He was very professional and called me ahead of time to let me know that he could arrive earlier than expected. He started out going over everything he would be doing and kept me informed while he was doing the work. Zach was great to work with and would recommend him personally to anybody.

For full disclosure, Peak provided a quote for quantity of work to be done, which we accepted. After we accepted we sought a second opinion on the need for the work to be done. The second opinion combined with fallout of funds to be able to do the work meant asking that some of the work be removed, which Peak did without complaint. That being said. The offered solution was overbuilt - there was more work suggested than was necessary. The sales rep, the measurer, and the first crew were on site and made no comment about issues with being able to replicate the concrete form (there is a cub next to the house). It was only the final crew that mentioned that they did not have the concrete experience to build the curb. The sales rep and the measurer failed to mention that work needed to be done in a closet that shared the foundation wall. Each left the impression the work only needed to be done in the main room. Turns out, they had to work in the closet as well. The first crew misread the instructions of the engineer thinking that the anchors could be set up to 6' from the corner, when they were supposed to be no further than 3' 6". They were able to confirm the measurement by contacting the engineer, but that shouldn't have been a question going into the issue. The first crew mismeasured the first set of holes they drilled, resulting in four extra holes drilled into the wall. They've been filled with wax which should protect from moisture, but they are still unnecessary holes in the foundation drilled through to the exterior. The first crew read the work-order wrong and saw "suggested" work as included work and made two unnecessary saw cuts in the exterior concrete. (Which brings up why on earth you'd put suggested work in a contract, let alone a work order). The work was scheduled for three days. The third day the crew had to leave to finish a job elsewhere, and after that I was contacted to reschedule to finish the job. The schedule was off. The reschedule was for two weeks from the initial date of work. The state left by the first crew was a concrete section as long as the width of the house removed from the driveway with four pier posts sticking out of it about 4 feet tall. When notified of impending rain the company did send a crew to put a cover over the hole so that the rain would be mostly kept off. The second crew finished the exterior work. In the process they used some new material and reused some of the old material (warranty work on helical piers). They statement made was "this is what the last crew left, so we used it." There was not enough new equipment, though, for the full 6 piers, so they used 3 new and 3 old. The second crew (as mentioned above) stated they could not perform the concrete work because of the curb and that Peak used a different company for more complex work and I'd be contacted to schedule the work. No word back from Peak for three days (the rest of that week after work was completed), so I called and left to voicemails the following weak. My calls were not returned so I called and insisted I not be sent to voicemail. Concrete work was scheduled for the following week. For those keeping score this means what was scheduled as a 3 day job is now taking four weeks. Concrete crew stated that one of the helical pier supports was "above grade" meaning that it was higher than the surrounding driveway. Because of that they could not fully cover the pier supports. So there is about 1/16" sticking out from the concrete. The people at Peak are generally good natured, well mannered, and professional. Unfortunately smiles and personability do not equate to quality work or good internal communication. I was asked at least three different times by three different crews what the work to be performed was. Each time I had to correct what had been stated as the expected work.

Work was done very professional and on time. Also no additional costs. One thing I was not told about is their maintenance plan. One year after service was performed, they called and said they should come out and inspect the repairs. Sounds like a good idea but they wanted $100 to $200. And every year after that the same thing will happen (a call and a charge). I didn't have the one year inspection done. I just wanted the work to be completed and that's it. I wish they would have mentioned the annual inspection.

The job was done very well. Peak employees Evan (foreman) and Anthony and Brandon D (crew) were very easy to work with and were quite prompt and very professional. We are very happy with the results especially because the house is 60+ years old. Doors now close properly and are positioned correctly. Thank you Peak.

The contact they sent out took 4 hours vs the 2 hours estimated to perform his assessment. Other contractors took less than an hour to give me a quote. I also had to assist him with performing measurements. I may work from home so it appears I'm not doing much but in actuality I am probably working more than someone who is at an office. I was very disappointed this took up so much of my time. Additionally the quote was overkill on the amount of anchors we need to stabilize the wall based on independent engineers assessment.

Despite having to move up the appointment time due to completing another job earlier they were able to complete the job in about six hours. We also benefited from a training program they were providing to some new hires who provided extra labor at no charge to us. Several more senior guys oversaw their work and even the factory rep for the anchor systems was there. They responded to all our questions and cleaned up the work areas, both inside the basement and outside where the pits were dug. They compacted the soil so I can't even tell that they had done all the work. Two of the team returned the next day to install plastic covers over the inside wall anchors. They will return once a year under a reasonably priced and optional maintenance inspection and adjustment program. Initially the sales engineer met with us to examine the problem, check out our whole basement for issues and suggested a remedy. She showed us videos on her computer that explained everything and we later received in the mail a very complete set of brochures explaining both types and causes of foundation problems and the various techniques used to resolve them.
Description of Work: They installed four wall anchors for a basement wall that was experiencing minor bowing, about one inch. Four small but deep pits were dug about ten feet out from the house and large threaded steel rods were inserted through the foundation wall to the pits where large heavy duty steel anchor plates were installed both in the pits and on the inside of the foundation wall. The rods were then tightened to stabilize the wall from future bowing inwards. As the soil dries and slack is created between the anchors they can easily be tightened to maintain solid anchoring. A area of the outside foundation damaged by the support beam was repaired.

I'm editing my review to give it a higher rating than I originally had. Their customer service reached out to me and gave me a lot of feedback, compiled a packet of all the documents they had on my project, and in other ways made it closer to right. I wish I'd gotten this attention up front rather than on the back end. I did end up feeling that my disappointment is not the norm for their customers. ------- original review ------- Overall I was extremely dissatisfied with their communication, scheduling, and ability to follow through. I'm a reasonable person, and the first 3 phone calls started reasonable, but 2 months, 7 calls, and 20 emails later as I try to work through the crap to get what I paid for. I had a lot of bitterness towards this company until a long chain of emails with customer service. Early-mid Oct we had a guy come out to quote us what work would need to be done - in installing 7 push piers and 2 helical piers he suggested it would take 3.5-4 days. We hurried to get everything signed, and a $750 payment made to get on the schedule so that it would COMPLETE on Friday Nov 1st, a day I was assured we could complete on, and the only day in 3+ week stretch during which both the Mrs. and myself could be there to watch the lift. The scheduling dept decided it was a 2 day lift instead, and schedule work to instead start on Thursday Oct 31st. The workers didn't show up until 10am, completed a walkthrough by 10:30, didn't have an mini-excavator until around 3pm, and left before 5. When they came back Friday at 9:15am they were unable to finish on the day we agreed upon - a day both the Mrs and myself made ourselves available to be away from work. I made multiple calls on that Thursday and Friday trying to understand how it could be a 2 day lift with 2 guys and a lack of equipment. Both times I was promised that someone would call me back to answer my questions. Nobody called either day. They then promised that they could lift on Saturday, I said as long as it's after 4pm then the Mrs can make it back from work. The workers showed up at 9am and left by 9:15am - possibly not even having picked up a shovel. Some sort of family issue. Okay by me. I don't blame the worker - he wasn't scheduled for the Sat any more than I wanted it scheduled for Sat. They said they would absolutely finish Monday - I said as long as it would work after 4pm Monday, the Mrs and I can rush home from work. Monday we both came home before 4pm, a sacrifice I worked hard to make. They had finished digging but couldn't hook up everything to lift because it was too dark. They left by 5pm, planning on coming at 8am to lift by 10am. Again, I made arrangements (for the 4th time) with work for Tuesday morning. The Mrs could not. Tuesday morning it was myself, the foreman who had terrible English, and a third guy who didn't speak any English. He lifted, expecting me to know what to look for as it was lifting. I did not know, how am i supposed to know, this is my first time seeing this! We had nobody else from Peak on site. During this 4 work day span (huh, turns out it was 4 days) I made and received a number of calls in regards to the project. Most spent a large deal of time apologizing, and promising to call back first thing tomorrow. Only ONE TIME did I actually get a call back from Peak after a "promise to call you back", and that was from some therapist or something who's job is just apologizing and listening to me b**** about what an awful job this has been. Later in the week, they had the audacity to call me about final payment when I hadn't even seen the finished product in daylight. It was 2 days before I could get home before 5:30 to see the outside (because I was making up time in regards to work I'd taken off for the missed lifts, walk-throughs, and actual lift). They also asked for payment while I was storing their mini-excavator on my front lawn. I kindly told them they would not be receiving payment until they took back their equipment. Then came the time to get the engineering report. I made the final pymt (stupid me) without having received this "engineering report". To me, the detail in this final document is what is going to help me when I go to sell my house to prove "yes there was an issue and here is what I did to mitigate it". After a month, 2 calls, and half a dozen emails I received a single page note - I mean, it didn't say a g****** thing. What the h*** is this?!?! Five emails later I start to get different documents that are closer to what I was expecting, but I have to get all upset and ask specifically if they have anything like X? This isn't a game of 20 questions or Guess Who! This was such a big project in my mind, and they struggled to help me understand all the pieces. I'm a smart individual. I felt misinformed on the deliverables, we were screwed on the schedule, and it was a lot of work to get to a place where we felt comfortable with the outcom
Description of Work: Installed push piers and helical piers to stop the foundation on the north side of the house from settling further, with an "attempt to lift" to try to push everything back to where it was. We had aprox 2.5-3.5" of setting, causing stairstepped cracking in the brick of the facade.

The original conversation was thorough and informative. Before the rep arrived the company provided me a wealth of educational material on foundation issues and repair. Although the price was a little high per pier, included was all the engineering analysis and the building permits. The workers showed up on time and were polite and efficient. They had to remove a shrub to place one of the piers When I asked, they knocked off a hundred dollars to allow me to replace it. I would recommend this company for foundation repair.
