Jim Bowers came out the same day the Water Department representative told me I had a leak between the meter and my house; what a relief. Counting that as Day 1, Day 3 was a holiday, but by the end of Day 4, my new water line was installed. This project even required a city permit. All of the details were handled to accommodate quick replacement. I have created landscaping beds and a courtyard with stamped concrete walks between the house and meter. The Bowers team successfully used a process that allowed them to pull the new pipe underground without disturbing any of this recent landscaping work. The heavy machinery used in front of the landscaping was expertly operated and there was no peripheral damage to address. The technicians knew exactly what they were doing and, at the same time, minimized the mess that the job created in the basement. What mess was made was cleaned up in a way I've never had a plumbing company do. I was asked to test all of the water faucets before they left and they thoroughly tested the water line itself. The young team was well-trained, presented themselves well and stayed on task. It is bad enough to deal with any significant plumbing problem but Bowers Plumbing made resolving my water leak as stress-free as possible. I got even more than I had expected! A real value!

I would never use Bowers Plumbing again. It's been a number of years since I've used them, but they made such a mess of my backyard. They ruined the entire backyard and scrapped all my grass into a big pile. They had to send in a guy with a little tiny tractor and front loader trying to even out the dirt in my yard. That's how big of a mess they made and he just sat at the gate and looked at it. He couldn't believe it when he saw what they done with my yard and the man refused to pay for the damages. The plumbers were okay until they started filling in the holes. They holes were 12 ft. down because my plumbing is in the basement and they were fixing the sewer line from the house to the city line. I had a really beautiful zoysia lawn that I had been babying for 3 years. I planted it myself and it was absolutely beautiful. I also have a lot of brickwork that I had done out there and I removed a huge amount of brick because I knew they had to work under it. I had seen that they needed more taken out and I removed that and when they went to fill in the hole they buried brick from other areas of the yard and scrapped all the grass up. I could not believe what they did to my yard. I was so upset that I sat down and just cried and I'm not a crying person. It was careless. They just scrapped it up with the teeth of the front loader and made a huge mound. The mound must have been 5 ft. high and the whole length of my yard. It was so bad. The cost was reasonable for what they were doing and it was neither higher nor lower than anybody else. They worked on it for a couple of days and the plumbers were plumbers and not grounds people. They were very polite and nice to me. I found out later that the cleanouts they had installed was put in backwards and I had to have another one installed. I would never use them again and if anybody even mentions plumbing I tell them not to use them. It's a big company and I'm not sure why.

They have don a lot of work for me, I have used them for about thirteen years. They are very attentive to your needs, and they do not try to price gouge you.

Mr. Bowers and his staff were very nice, professional and courteous. Mr. Bowers himself came out to the job on numerous occasions to make sure things were going well. He said he does so because he prides himself in trying to leave every job with the customer. What I liked? (1) His bid included the most details. (2) His plumber, Brandon, noticed lint piling in my ceiling because some type of pipe came apart. This is something I would have never known and he didn't have to mention but he thought it was a fire hazard so came and told me about it. He then took all of the lint out and swept it up and threw it away, he fixed the pipe with some adhesive he had in his truck, and when I offered him to pay him for it he said no thanks. I know nothing about contractors and this type of work and I would have paid a couple of hundred for it, but he was honest. The only negative part of my experience was the subcontractor hired to do a small bit of the work who was not a part of Mr. Bower's. I did not feel comfortable with him and Mr. Bower replaced him immediately.

We had our house re-piped with copper because the original pipeing was very corroded, pitted, and was leaking. They did the re-piping but did not replace the piping running up to each of the areas being supplied with water. Some of those areas had some galvanized pipe that is now rusted up and will cause a future leak if not repaired because of electrolysis ( two different types of metal being in contact with each other ). I beleive i did not get what i paid for. Also i have some shut off valves that are for the kitchen sink that are now in a place that is difficult to reach because that piping was not replaced.

My handyman came over and said it would only be $75 because some of the caulking was bad and that was causing the leak. They tried to sell me something I didn't need. Very bad business practices.

I had arranged for Bower's Plumbing to install this new dishwasher in my (older) home where there had never been one before. I arranged to have it installed before I moved in. Mr. Bowers - very nice man, by the way - arranged and quoted everything prior. Jack did the initial installation and plumbing work. They did not remove any of the packing and left it in the kitchen, which was odd. I moved in and, of course, gave my new shiny dishwasher a whirl. It was leaking in the basement. Bower's was prompt in sending Dave to troubleshoot. He did his best but the tubing that came with the dishwasher had been damaged by the first plumber and his best fix with adhesives did not fix the problem. Still leaking, I called again and was told they had to order a part. The part ended up being what was originally damaged by the first plumber who used a few shortcuts to get the installation done improperly. I was the one who noticed what they were replacing was what originally came with the machine and had to ask if that was the case. Dave was honest and said yes and consequently did not charge me for the part. Dave is their star plumber, and would definitely recommend asking for him over Jack without question. After 4 visits, I finally have a non-leaky dishwasher. I can only recommend Dave, tho. Mr. Bowers is probably just too nice to let his older plumber go.
