Great work, very professional, timely cleanup

The biggest expense was the windows. They were high quality, insulated-tech windows. They did good quality work and that was their motivation. They made sure they were done the proper way. They also worked hard. We haggled around at the beginning to come up with the amount. We had to do some modification in the design but they were real good in figuring out how to do it and they seemed to be a company that enjoyed challenges on doing things in different ways to get them to work. They are very skilled - all guys in their late 50s and 60s but not walking around like old men. They were very hard workers and they had done it enough that they knew what things work and what things don't. If we were asking for things that were stupid, they let us know. We had a little issue with water dumping off the side - it's sort of a flat roof instead of a bi,g gabled roof that would have cost a lot more. That is how we were able to save some money. They had to raise the roof some in order to get a good 8 feet but its fun to watch guys who really know what they're doing. They just really did a good job. It's really well insulated in the winter! I just use a little heater all through winter. There's no cold spots or hot spots in the summer. It was fun having them around. They weren't cheap but we also got high quality. I think we got a great value.

Poor experience with salesman who tried to scare off other bidder by saying he had a signed contract with me, and he did not.

First of all, the main reason for replacing the windows was that one of our old windows was leaking badly into the wall and sill underneath it. We consulted with Winston Brown and they said replacing the window and repairing the area around it should take care of the leak. As it turned out, we had to call them back several times and they finally said it was more of a roofing problem and that we should call a roofer. I can say that the job was done fairly quickly and the windows are easier to clean than our old ones. However; we were not happy with the fact that caulking was tracked onto the living room carpet and that the siding around our front window was bent and warped around the new frame. One of the screens has a small hole in it from installation. Some of the inside edging was damaged when it was put back in. Also, I recently found yet another "shank"-sized piece of glass in the backyard from where the work was done...Luckily I do not have any animals or small children who could have found the glass first.
