Neville Haynes Masonry

Neville was professional, but the estimate of the work needed was way beyond the value of the Big Deal. I don't think it's any poor reflection on him, but I just mis-estimated what my project entailed. He was understanding and I was able to work out a swap with Angie's List. If I did need future masonry work, I would definitely check with him for an estimate.

I contacted them to schedule the service and they tried to tell me the deal was expired. When I gave them the expiration date, March 2015, they then said it's too cold to do any of this work and they are not honorring the deal any more and will not do any work. I was very disappointed with this lack of professionalism.

It was a little slow getting started, but one cannot expect a good contractor to have no backlog. Once started, the job was completed in good time and to our specifications and expectations. Neville was very mindful of our opinion on details as the construction progressed, making sure that we were happy with the stone, and consulting us on the depth and construction of the foundation, the shape of the cap, etc., and generally keeping us well informed throughout the process. He showed up when he said he would, completed the job in good order, and was always cheerful and pleasant. We were very pleased with the job he did, and would certainly hire him again should the need arise.

Neville was very kind and friendly. He gave me a bid promptly. He arrived on time to do the work. He brought another man to help him. They worked very quickly and efficiently. The job was beautiful! I could tell Neville had many years of experience. They cleaned up the area nicely and took away my old bricks. I am very pleased with his work.

This provider doesn't work on stucco chimney's so I couldn't move forward with the deal.

Mr. Haynes came out to give me an estimate for brick repair on the façade of my home. We looked at the work to be done and he said he was busy with another job out of town and would get back with me shortly. He never did. This was a (approx.) 3 day job and would be worthwhile for him to follow up, but perhaps he got a bigger job and just blew it off. He is very personable and seems knowledgeable.

Person did not show up at scheduled time nor call. I waited about 40 minutes and called and left message. Have not received a return call. This would have been first visit to give me an estimate.

Neville and his team were respectful, punctual, and very responsive. They did a great job - the column looked great after they finished and they did the work quickly. They didn't clean up quite as much as I would have liked but it wasn't a big deal - just a bit of gravel & stone chunks in the yard, a hard slick from washing up the mortar and a bucket that wasn't cleaned up left on the porch. The stone work was great but the overall cleanup was only marginal.

While Neville was punctual, his quote seemed lackadaisical and off hand. There didn't seem to be much thought put into and his business tactics seemed a bit unprofessional. He assured us that we could probably go ahead and use our fireplace, though he did quote us on some repairs he could do. This makes me nervous because when we bought the house the inspector said that the fireplace was not in usable condition. Regardless, I called Neville to discuss the quote and asked for an emailed copy of the quote. He assured us that he would email it over the weekend and we haven't heard from him since.

Neville was out at my house to look at what I needed done and to provide an estimate the very afternoon that I called him. That is more than I can say for the majority of the masonry companies I called. Though his bid wasn't the lowest I got (it was close) , I'm 100% glad I went with him. When I was finally ready to schedule the work, he guessed it'd be 3 weeks or so based on his current workload. That was fine, but I got a call the next day saying he had some availability and could do it that weekend if I wanted. Neville and one of his crew members showed up Friday afternoon, walked me through the plan, making sure we were on the same page, prepped the sites, poured concrete foundations, and said they'd be back the next day to do the brick work. As promised, he showed up and got to work. Neville was professional, personable, on time, and did outstanding work; I was impressed with the time and effort he put into a smaller job. Clearly he takes pride in his work. I wouldn't hesitate to call Neville again next time I need masonry work done.

He was personable and professional. I also appreciated that he was honest with me and let me know that I didnt really need any of the work done. He didnt just try to take advantage of the situation. If I did have some work that needed repair, I would certainly call him again. He made me feel totally at ease being at my home.

Neville was able to get to our project in a timely manner and was able to finish quickly while also doing an excellent job. We are very satisfied with the results and the price we paid. Highly recommended.

The job seemed too small for them. Instead of doing the small repair which would not have cost much, they kept trying to sell me an entire new front entryway. They quoted me $1000, when I was only expecting to pay a couple hundred bucks. I felt that they were misrepresenting themselves to drum up more business. I was terribly disappointed with my experience.

We were very happy with Neville's work and plan to use him again. He built our new entrance marker to last and it was very nice workmanship.

Neville did a really good job. He was very timely. He accommodated me in the schedule. He got it done very quickly for me within a couple of days. It went very well. It took him two days and he was finished with it. What made me decide to go with him was his rating. He had a good rating on Angie's List. He was the first one to come out and give me a price on it. It seemed like a reasonable price to me so I agreed to do it right on the spot. He was there two days later. It was great. His responsiveness was an A+.

I got a quick response to my inquiry wanting an estimate. The work was scheduled and completed within 1 week of the estimate. I am very pleased with the quick response and the quality of work.

I found Neville on Angie's list with good ratings. He came on-time for the first visit and provided estimate quickly. He also started and finished the work reasonably fast. His charges were very reasonable as compared to the other quotes, so I decided to hire him. He did the work, but didn't provide professional touch (it was like he ran the marathon and gave up in the last mile!). One major issue was with the installation of brick veneer. I had ordered antique Chicago brick veneer for a wall. Neville installed half the bricks correctly, while the other half he installed backwards (so I lost all the features of the brick face!). The bad part was he never told me that he made a mistake! I found it out later... Second issue I had with him was that he didn't clean-up his work area very well. At the end of the project, I was left with debris as Neville told me (just before leaving) that he doesn't clean the debris if the materials were not bought by him. In general, he seemed to have good potential, but bad execution. If you want to hire him, please have all the terms written and agreed up-front (including minor details). This may help him deliver better job next time.

He did excellent work and was prompt and efficient.

Excellent job all the way around. They took photos to make sure the job was true to the original craftsmanship and meticulously rebuilt an to look like new. They also took care to color match the mortar so that the area blends in nicely with the excellent brick work of our tudor style home. They also took care not to damage our bushes and did an excellent job of maintaining the job site and cleaning up. I highly recommend Neville Haynes for any brick stone or mortar work you may need.

Some of the bricks were missing from the front corner of our house. Unfortunately the type of brick is no longer manufactured so Neville found a suitable replacement that matched the color, size and shape. He even managed to match the face of the new brick and mortar to the original style brick and mortar. He did and excellent job at a very fair price and after he was finished you couldn't tell the old from the new.

I enjoyed him. He is very good. He didn't do the work. We chose somebody else.
