Description of Work: We just wanted an estimate for a fence. Eight days later, we're still waiting for that estimate. At this rate, w figure it would take this company 8-10 months to put a small fence up.

+ -1 moreA little miscommunication on the start date but the crews worked very efficiently and quickly. Was expecting it to take longer but they got the new fence up in short order. My dogs were VERY glad to have their yard back! Still missing the caps for the posts (backordered) and two of the latches only would lock from the outside. Was told they would replace them with an alternate latch but not heard back yet on either issue.
Description of Work: Replaced a privacy fence on a large backyard-approx 1800 sq ft.

+ -1 moreWhen they got done, I noticed the gate was off. I had to call who oversaw the project to look at another gate. My husband had to come home to open another part of the gate. I asked him to look at the gate on the driveway. Christmas came and the ground was freezing, so I didn't pursue. Then, I got a bill after Christmas for about $2000. This was the balance. I asked them to come out again. I gave a $1000 toward the $6300. He said he would fix the daycare entrance, then left. The next week, the owner contacted my husband to meet. They said they were going to pull the fence if we didn't pay. The next week, Dirk called me. He was very antagonistic and bullying on the phone. He said he would come out at 2:15. My husband called him and told him not to bully my wife. We paid them in full. They never repaired either gate the way they were suppose to.
Description of Work: They came the first of December to start the work. They finished about the time it started freezing. They did about 800 ft. of fence-vinyl white.

+ -1 moreOk - when we asked for estimate they indicated they were booked for the next 6 weeks and would try to squeeze us in. Scheduling was done on Friday's. They said they would call when they could get us in. About 5 weeks later they showed up to confirm they could work - they began early the next morning and took a couple of hours to complete the work.
Description of Work: Replaced Slats and and cross pieces in privacy fence - 8 Ft section and 2 individual slats in other section of fence

+ -1 moreThey showed up for work on Friday between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM, and started pulling apart the part of the old fence that was to be replaced. My husband said that they stayed on the job until it was done, then started digging the holes for the fence posts. I got home about 5:15 PM and they were already gone, but they were coming back the next day to finish pouring the cement and setting the poles. On Saturday, another crew showed up and finished setting the poles, finished cleaning up the yard, and were done in early afternoon. They told us that they were going to let the cement set (luckily, no rain! VBG), and would be back on Monday to put the fencing up. On Monday, they again arrived just after 8:00 AM and finished the job. All of the people in this company are friendly, polite and professional. And the one dog is still mad at us 'cos he can't get out anymore! VBG
Description of Work: We had a 4 foot chainlink fence all around the back yard, with a 5 foot wood privacy fence running along part of the interior of each side. One of our dogs started getting out, and we decided to increase the height of the fence, so we decided to call fence companies to get an estimate on the best way to handle it. We called several companies, talked to them about the situation, were able to get several estimates, and Kansas Fence Company seemed to be the only one really interested in helping us. They came out, discussed different ways to increase the height of the current fence, giving us the pros and cons of each, and we decided to replace the front North side and back chainlink fencing to 6 feet, leaving the current 4 foot chainlink fencing along the sides and South front side, but putting new 6 foot wood fencing along the interior of the South front and from front to rear on the sides. Weather was a major factor, naturally, but since they had to take down the fence completely along the back and North front, and we had to board several dogs during the work process, they were willing to work with us to let us know when they would be able to get out to our house to get the job started. We put the dogs into Boarding on Thursday night, with the understanding that the work would be started Friday morning, weather permitting; on Monday, if it rained.

+ -1 moreIf you are following the National Wildlife Federation's guidelines for a "certified backyard habitat" to shelter wildlife and you have provided some undergrowth or a brush pile among your offerings to the critters, before you have the work done you might want to tell the company what you would like them to leave behind. Your yard will otherwise be clean as a whistle.
Description of Work: I hired a general contractor to perform and oversee about $25,000 in repairs and upgrades to my home in 2010. Kansas Fence had the task of removing an old decrepit 6' high shadow-box fence around the entire back yard and replacing it with a a 5' high aluminum-looks-like-wrought-iron fence. This also involved removing many saplings--oak and bush-honeysuckle--that the birds had planted around the perimeter. The workers did a great job: The fence remains upright, strongly set in concrete footings, and the 2 gates open easily. The cleanup job was beyond my expectations.
