An absolute nightmare! Shoddy work. Poor choice of roofer. Exceptionally poor communciation. Mostly poor customer service,
Description of Work: In Oct 2012 I contracted with (name redacted) representing the Home Improvement Gallery (HIG) to replace the roofs on my home & detached garage. In Nov 2012 HIG subcontracted this work to a roofer whose work was substandard, shoddy, & damaged my new gutters on both structures (company did replace house gutters). Roofing crew failed to make ALL roof repairs resulting in a section of uneven roof plus other shoddy work. I paid to have all rotted plywood replaced and would have paid for additional repairs had I been told about an alleged spacing problem with the rafters underneath the roof section that now is clearly uneven & detracts from my home's appearance. Flashing was incomplete and what was done is sloppy, uneven, and some is either not painted at all or painted a different color than the house trim. After more than six weeks of waiting, garage gutters remain unrepaired, uneven, & unreplaced and now leak at the seams. Roofer failed to use provided tarps & I have numerous nails & pieces of old shingles in the yard. Attempts to pick up nails & shingles destroyed the lawn reseeding I just had done (company did reseed a part of the affected area) Roofer worked, then stopped, worked & stopped again, worked and stopped again (often several days in a row), left gaping holes in my roof on two occasions when the crew left for the day, stranded two of his workers at my home that I had to drive home, complained to me about not being paid. HIG claims they fired roofer after 4 weeks on my roof job. Three days before Christmas HIG promised to complete the job & to date refuses to complete the job & make necessary repairs. I have called them many times & even visited their showroom to attempt to resolve these outstanding issues with no satisfaction. On several occasions, company rep has admitted he has a "punch list" of things they need to fix but HIG has thusfar refused to do so and won't set a date to do so.

The crew that was sent was inexperienced and took a lot longer than timeline given. There were times that they did not show up at all and no calls were made to let us know. The frame in the front window had to be replaced and it took several months to get it replaced. The entry door that was installed is the wrong size door that than was originally in the house and they refuse to replace it with the correct door. We would not recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: The overall experience was very disappointing. They were to put in new windows, siding and a new entry door. The timeline we were given was a week and it took 3 weeks. They installed the wrong size entry door and refuse to replace it and make it right. We would not recommend this company to anyone.
