I cannot begin to say how pleased I am with the worked performed. Note: the pics don't reflect the completed project. It's just what I have on hand for the review. They replaced all the electrical and plumbing, tore out the old floors, leveled the bathroom (which was 2" lower on one side than the other to begin with), Closed in the sun porch that is now the bathroom, moved the bath from the current closet, and put the laundry in our closet. They custom build the cabinets in the kitchen and refinished the wood floors. I am extremely happy with all the work they did. Especially loving the potfiller and wall tap in the kitchen and the shower and huge soaking tub in the bathroom. The closet system is completely custom. They added the windows and re-insulated the space. Then they did the drywall. It is all so very well done! Thank you Aspen! Will recommend to all my friends and definitely use for my next bathroom remodel.

The window replacement was probably the best part - the windows were made locally. However the caulking had to be repkaced a couple of years ago when I had an energy "audit". The bathroom was a disaster. I hate to say anything because my mother told me to keep my mouth shut if I couldn't say anything good. I really wasn't a big job - a small bath, replacing sink, flooring, adding beadboard, painting. I had never used a contractor and didn't realize what I didn't know and the assumptions I was making - like filling nail holes, matching baseboards, etc. The beadboard has seams in all the wrong places. No attempt was made to use the big pieces in the big spaces. The outlet above the sink which should have been moved (I know that now), was not only NOT moved, the first time they covered up the bottom hole (with the back of the sink) rather than turn it sideways. They cut a hole for the medicine cabinet, The hole was too big and when I pointed it out to them they added quartrer round which they did not paint. The walls that they did paint look as if they are waiting for a second coat in order to get what they missed. The sink that they had made and installed looked great (I think it's granite) but at this point it looks 30 years old. I have a bathroom downstairs with the original sink - so it is 30+ years old and it looks much better than the new one. The finish is gone on the new one. Aspen used independent contractors and they left one afternoon, saying they were finished, with no baseboards behind the toilet, etc. because "if the material isn't here, we don't put it in". They were back many times, but I gave up. Nail holes were not filled - there was no caulking (or whatever they use) beside the tub when the flooring was installed so it leaks. They damaged the ceiling when they brought in long boards. It's a popcorn ceiling and I hate it, but it did look better without the nicks. I've had estimates to fix the bath - but they are higher than the original - so I'lve left it as a tribute to Aspen. Anyone who wants to see it may do so. Maybe I expected too much.
