Dusty's Hardwood Floors Service

Dusty was fantastic to work with. He was always punctual, and he kept me informed during every step of the process. We weren't sure what to expect since the hardwood floors had been covered up by carpet for years, but Dusty was able to make them look brand new. After the job was finished, I had a few additional questions, and he was happy to help me out. I couldn't be happier, and I will definitely use Dusty's services the next time I need to refinish floors.

We contacted Dusty to get a bid for installation. He was not able to make it out for a week or two but was very honest about that in our first contact. He did call about a week later and we set up a time for him to come and bid the job. Dusty arrived on-time, was polite and courteous. He was very knowledgeable about the products he works with and was very informitive about our options. We received our bid in the time he said he would have it done. We had an install date for a few weeks out but he called and said he would be able to get it this week if we would like. He arrived on time and worked around our needs for the day. They worked clean and were very respectful of our house and ourselves the entire time. It turned out I had purchased a broken carpet transition so Dusty was not able to finish that same day. We called him when I got the new piece and he came back to complete the install. He did not have any issue coming back and did not charge us extra for the additional trip out. The work was great and installed very well.

Let me just say this.... if you are looking for anything done in the hardwood flooring arena, I'll save you some time. Close this page and call Dusty. He is without a doubt one of the most professional guys in the industry. Treats every project as if it was his house. Throughout the process we ran into several "speed bumps" through the fault of the previous homeowner that Dusty quickly diagnosed, provided options, and most importantly, a recommendation on the "right" way to fix it. I would argue that all Contractors could learn a thing or two from Dusty and his crew. They are young, hard-working gentlemen with a VERY strong work ethic and, candidly, are perfectionists. Dusty even worked through the weekend (SUNDAY TOO!) to get our project done on time. Again, if you want all sort of fancy paperwork, glossy sales material, etc. go to Lowe's or HD, but if you want an honest, straight-forward, no-nonsense superior experience... call Dusty.

The estimate process was very smooth The installation was performed as promised with multiple choices of flooring and colors. Dusty provided expert input into wearability and maintenance. Very honest and great communication I would use this company again and recommend him very highly.

We used Dusty's in the past, and so when our contractor approached us about finding a floor installer, calling him was a no-brainer. He went to incredible lengths to work and rework his schedule to accommodate the ever-changing schedule by our primary contractor. He is more than just an installer. We trust him to recommend a look and to follow through on that recommendation. The floors look fantastic and we'll have him back in our home within the next two weeks for yet a third job for us.

Great Job ! We joined Angies list at the advice of my daughter , found Dusty's service here and called for a bid . His response was friendly, timely and was the middle price of three bids. it was clear that Dusty knew his stuff , was down to earth , offered good advice and we chose him over the others. A wise choice as it turns out -- the job he and his brother did was impeccable. As a doctor and a wood-worker myself , am pretty particular (as is my wife) and there was simply nothing wrong with their work. In fact we are having them come back to do some other similar work. These guys are the best.

They did a great job including matching the stain color of the existing hardwood floor in the hallway adjoining the bedroom. They were very professional in their approach, they contained the dust from sanding well, left their work area clean each day after they finished and stayed on schedule. We would recommend them without reservation to our family and friends.

We found Dusty at the Angie's List site and contacted him. He answered the phone immediately and we arranged for a meeting to assess the job at my home. During our meeting, we shared expectations and constraints, and I felt as though he listened and implemented within the guidelines established. Shortly thereafter, we purchased the hardwood material and awaited our turn in the schedule. Throughout, communications were good and consistent. He picked up our hardwood product in advance of installation and delivered it to our home so that it could acclimate to our home's environment. On installation day one, Dusty arrived at the specified time and began work. Where installation concerns arose, he contacted me immediately to work through to solutions. We are extremely happy with and enjoying the end product. We have one more room to work on and Dusty will be our contractor for that work.

called and made appointment for estimate to repair/replace damaged and worn hardwood flooring. dusty showed as promised. presented as a knowledgeable and professional. we discussed various opinions. we parted with the understanding that i would receive a detailed written estimate within 48 hours. time passed and i never heard back. had the work done by another firm.

Dusty is an honest, likeable and straighforward individual. He was prompt, efficient and very curtious. He took extra effort to make sure we were very happy with the results. We would HIGHLY recommend his work to anyone and couldn't have been more pleased with how our floors turned out.

Dusty appears to do great work however, he also appers to need to improve his communication skills after calling and not having my calls returned Dusty finally called me I gave him the size of the two rooms he said it would be very inexpensive and he would email me a bid. The bid was never emailed (he says it was sent to the wrong email address), with all the glowing reviews I called and left a message again with my cell number and email address and received an email stating that his minimum charge is 1000.00. I am frustrated because over this two-three week call/email fest I could have called other contractors. Dusty appears to do good work but needs to improve on his communication skills.

The process went very well. Dusty was able to work with our schedule to come in before the other contractors that were remodeling our main floor and do all but the final coat on the floors. Once the painters completed their work Dusty and his brother came back to complete the job just in time for our 4th of July party so that the floors were ready for guests to walk on with shoes. Dusty was very professional and always kept us informed on the progress of the project each day.

I received bids from three different companies. I felt that Dusty provided the best education about all potential decisions I'd have to make, vs the other two suppliers and is one of the biggest reasons I went with him. He brought up things that I didn't even think of, like using pine or oak for the new base shoe trim, whether to use oak or pine for the risers for the stair treads, why he would sand and refinish the older floors vs just putting a new top coat on them, etc. He set expectations for what would happen; i.e. they would deliver all the wood a few days before so it could cure in the house, how long it would probably take and kept me updated each day as the work progressed, when and what he expected for payment. We saved some money by taking out the carpet and padding and pulling up nails and tacks ourselves. They gouged the wall in the living room the first day, he told me about it and he mudded, sanded and painted it during the job and you would never know. I do have to say that I've discovered some other small places on the walls that were nicked and will have to be repainted. We had just repainted all these walls, so that was a tad disappointing. Also, if you have carpeted stairs with 2 x 8's, as our original stairs were, the oak treads are not as tall as the original boards, so the trim needed to be stained. Dusty told me this would probably be the case before work even started and I did restain, but it just doesn't look good. I got it too dark next to the treads themselves and made the mistake of not just sanding and restaining the entire trim. So I still have that job to do on two sets of stairs. I wish that was a service that he provided as part of putting in new steps. I realize it's time-consuming, but I'm sure he's better at it than I am. I'll get it done, but beware of that issue if you always had carpeted stairs with 2x8's and not wood stairs. Dusty has a great personality, I enjoyed working with him and overall, think they did a great job. He does much of the work himself and oversees everything. The house is only 15 years old and he had to do some major cutting and work in the hallway because the walls were not straight! Now with the trim, you'd never know. He was always there when he said he would be and they started and finished the job when he said they would. I would definitely recommend his work.

Our wookd floors were 13 years old and had nevery been refinised. Company sanded, stained and sealed floors and perfofmed the services within their estimated time frame. Company was very good about communicating the status of the project on a daily basis and if there were any issues, board to be replaced, they would discuss and provide the cost for the additional services prior to performing the work.

I called and got a couple of estimates to refinish my floors. Dusty came over and I felt that he was the most honest of all the folks i had talked to. Dusty told me all of my options, then recommended what to do based on what he would do to his own house. Also during the job, Dusty had quoted to pull and replace the "base shoe" (a piece of 1/4 round wood that goes along the floor) but during the job he ended up re-using the base shoe we had already. After Dusty realized this, he called to tell me what happened and then credited me back the difference between replacement and reuse. I felt utterly confident that Dusty, Derek and Seth would do quality work.... and they did! We are so pleased with the quick process and how the finished product looks. What a difference the new floors make in the look of our home. THANK YOU to Seth, Derek and Dusty! we will call you again and recommend you to all of our friends.

He did previous work in January. He is honest, hardworking and pleasant. He takes pride in his work. I would recommend him. I would absolutely use him again.

He seemed like a nice guy. He was professional and answered all my concerns. I found them on Angie?s List and had read their reviews. I did not read too much into the reviews but just looked over and made sure he did not have any negative comments. Their estimated price was $1700. He seemed like a trustworthy guy, which is one of the most important things for me. I would consider having them out again for another quote.

Everything looks great. Dusty is very professional and thoroughly does a great job. We are also using his company again for refinishing in another home. He is very personable and goes out of his way to make sure the customer is satisfied with the job! Be sure to get on his schedule in advance because he is quite in demand.

How did it go. I WISH I had more houses for him to put in hardwood floors for me. I wish I could hire him AND his brother to work for my company. The work ethic and moral compass of these two guys is all but extinct in this great nation. The man is a TRUE professional. Dusty put in the most beautiful floors I could imagine. Don't let the price scare you, my wife picked some pretty expensive wood. Dusty was not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but I would have paid MUCH MORE for what I got. Once we pulled up the carpet in the place, we found wall to wall laminate. I hired a moron to scrape that up and do some minor repairs to the sub floor. Dusty to the rescue. He and his brother sanded the crud left behind by the "genius" I hired to scrape up the laminate. They also repaired the "repaired" subfloor where this other guy took every shortcut he could. Then, we found that part of my subfloor was actually compressed sawdust (doesn't hold a staple well). So Dusty and his brother tore that up to put in new subfloor...and found AN OUTDOOR DECK underneath. Now, most guys would have put the subfloor down and gone on to the next step. NOT Dusty. He told me it was my choice, but that to do it right, they really needed to tear out that old deck and put in a correct, proper sub floor. He gave me options. He always has options, but as usual told me that if it was his house, he'd tear out the old outdoor deck. So I got a bid from the "other" guy and asked Dusty what he would charge. Not even close. Dusty was not only the better price but I KNEW it would be done right. He fixed EVERYTHING. Then he and his brother proceeded to get started on my floor install. Remember, my wife picked some "expensive" wood. Well this is "engineered" meaning not real hard wood through and through. Dusty needed special guns to staple this down. So what did he do? He went and rented what he needed and ate the cost. Most guys are going to use their guns and dent the wood, or rent guns and pass the cost on. Not my man Dusty. PEOPLE DO YOU HEAR ME? These guys are THE BEST. I have NEVER had an experience like this before. PROFESSIONAL. PERSONAL. CARING. MORAL. And they take major PRIDE in their work. The consultation. The education. If you need hardwoods put in...HIRE DUSTY. I don't know what more to say. I'm in the business of sales. And my "product" is the same as most of my competitors. My company tries to differentiate ourselves with GREAT service...and we do a very good job of that...but GOOD LORD we can learn a few things from these guys. Dusty and his brother did all the work. No subs. You are dealing with the owner, the president, the main man from beginning to end. You can't ask for more. Thank you Dusty. Thank you for being an inspiration to me. If you are looking for a hardwood company, stop looking right now and hire Dusty. You will not be disappointed. We previously had bad experience with our bathroom remodel and were very worried hiring again anyone. From the moment Dusty walked in to our house to give the estimate, I knew right away that this guy knows everything there is to know about hardwoods. His price was also very competitive with other companies. Originally, the job was supposed to take around five days. On the second day, Dusty?s compressor died and we missed the whole day. However, Dusty somehow managed to still finish everything on time, amazing. I wanted to run my entertainment cables under the new subfloor they were building but ran into an issue. I almost gave up, but Dusty gave me a good suggestion on how to get around it. It turned out great. Dusty went far and beyond to make sure that everything is good and is exactly as we wanted to. They also left the house very clean afterwards. The hardwood turned out better than we could imagine. The attention to detail is exceptional. We are very happy that we did this project.

Dusty provided a prompt quote for us and his price was competitive. We found him to be courteous and responsive to our questions, which we the first positive sign. He performed the work in a timely manner and on the schedule that we agreed to. He and his brother even worked late a couple evenings so that everything would be done on time. We really appreciated Dusty's professionalism. The finished product is amazing! And that's not an understatement. Our floors look great --granted they're still 85 year old floors with some imperfections, but we knew that going into the process. We're very pleased with the work Dusty did.

I used Angie's List to filter prospective companies. After getting a few bids from some great companies, I chose Dusty. No surpises... The floor looks better than I recall when we bought the house.
