Julie painted the bannister and balusters at my brother's house and based on their fabulous results, I just had to have her for our project of painting our stair risers and skirts white since we had just had the stairs refinished. We had attempted to do it ourselves and had done some sanding already, but because of constraints such as recently having a baby and just plain laziness, it never got done. Therefore, I called Julie and left a message. She got back with me within a couple of days and we arranged for her to come out for an estimate. She looked at the project very closely and I could tell she was very detailed and thought through to the end to ensure a great result. The estimate was more than fair and we scheduled a date. She ended up having to reschedule the date, but was really great in communicating this reschedule as well as each day she came out, she would text approximately when she would get there and if she was going to be running early, on time, or late. She treated our project like it was her own with the end goal of making it look great with straight lines, etc. Our stairs are in an old, old house (>100 years) with uneven wood flooring and the white borders of the risers were still straight and crisp and did not enhance the flaws and unevenness in our floors because she took the time to caulk and tape carefully. In her cleaning/wipe down, some of the old finish came off the bannister and Julie was great about painting the bare section to match the rest of it for free. It looks so good we just might have to have her come back to make the rest of the bannister look as good!! Oh, and the brick surround on our fireplace looked great, too. Long story short, we purchased this old house, gutted it and put it back together so we've dealt with a lot of workers (demo people, carpenters, carpet installers, drywall people, etc) and Julie is at the top of the list. It was one of the best experiences we've had from start to finish if not the best. I would recommend Julie to anyone in a heartbeat. I appreciate her thoroughness and attention to detail, which is often lost in this industry. Thank you, Julie!
Description of Work: Cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted 14 stair risers and the skirts on either side of the stairs, as well as brick on our fireplace surround. We provided the primer and paint.

The work provided by Real-Living-Finishes is unbelievable. She did a wonderful job. She was the most polite person and on time. She gave me a discount, if I would get all the different work done at one time.
Description of Work: She refaced all of our cabinets. She also did some crown molding after another company installed my hardwood floors.

Julie performed all the prep work, painting and staining. She started each day exactly as scheduled and did an absolutely outstanding job from start to finish. Her work was extremely professional. We liked it so much we have contracted with Real-Living-Finishes for additional interior painting and staining.

What an easy experience this was! The work took a day and a half....I would have expected a week! No corners were cut and the girls went out of their way to make this an easy project for me! I am so pleased with them in every sense!
Description of Work: This is the second time I have had these powerhouse girls paint for me! I had a wide variance of areas in my main living area repainted, and previously had my kitchen cabinets refinished. Julie and Jamie were absolutely professional, amazingly fast, accurate, precise. They strived to make my life easier, and avoid a mess at all their costs. They had ideas that were truly appreciated and made a great difference in addition to what I thought I wanted. (They added the icing and the sprinkles to the cake!!) I absolutely cannot recommend them any higher. They went above and beyond!!

The girls came in and took all the doors and drawers off to start. They worked on those in their shop as to minimize the mess in my house, which I appreciated. Then they came in and cleaned and hand sanded down all of the base cabinets. Then they began painting all my trim and base coat on the cabinets and then did the walls. Lastly they brought in the finished doors and drawers, attached all the hardware and were done in a little under 2 weeks. They were very professional, friendly, on-time and cleaned up after themselves every day. I would definitely rehire them for future projects and I LOVE my new kitchen.
Description of Work: Julie and her assistant cleaned, sanded, painted and glazed all of my 38 kitchen cabinets plus put on all new hardware and painted my entire kitchen plus trim.
Julie and her assistants, including her husband Matt who did some of the carpentry work, did a tremendous job. We met on several occasions at the beginning and throughout the job to discuss designs and work yet to be completed. She came up with some great ideas and advice of her own. Julie was very easy to work with and prices seemed very reasonable.
Description of Work: Kitchen cabinets were stripped, sanded and refinished with glaze. Insides of cabinets and the doors were painted. One set of high cabinets was removed and the soffit painted. Another set of cabinets was shortened to accommodate a new microwave (not included) above the stove top. Designed and refinished the tiled backsplash (at a considerable savings compared to replacing the tile with granite to match our counter tops). Stained the trim around our patio door, reglazed the bottom half of our dining room walls, painted the kitchen and dining room walls. The price also included a bathroom - repairing some spots on the textured walls and painting the walls.
Did an outstanding job! Have used many times in the past and will use again in the future! Julie has great ideas and really has an eye for what will look great in your home!
Description of Work: Faux finished handrails on stairs and mantle, painted a bedroom and the entire first floor trim.

The cabinet finishing/faux painting was an important part of our project and we wanted to get the right person. After a lot of research and estimates from other companies we got Julie's name from the painter we were considering for the wall painting. Julie came out to discuss our project. She arranged for us us to visit several other jobs she had completed and we impressed with her work. She met us several times a local faux product store to pick out the types of finishes we wanted and then prepared sample boards. She did several versions of the samples until we got just what we wanted. Our lower level project included a lot of other work by other contractors (tile, trim, plumbing, electrical) and Julie was flexible on scheduling. The extra steps of finishing the interior of the doors, draws, and cabinets really give the project a finished look. Julie was a pleasure to work with. We are moving on to a mud/laundry room/ bath project and Julie will be do that work also.
Description of Work: Julie applied a faux finish to our lower level kitchen cabinets, lavatory cabinet, a built in desk/dresser unit, built in entertainment center, and several bookcases. The work included finishing the interior and exterior of the cabinets, doors, drawers and shelving. Prior to starting sample boards were made up and modified several times until the exact finishes we wanted were agreed on. The process included cleaning, sanding, priming, painting, glazing (several coats) sealing and top coating. All doors and drawers were removed and reinstalled, and adjusted.
